my absolute favourite part of G.U.Y is the line "lay back, and feast as this audio guides you through new and exciting positions". Its so beyond camp for one, referring to your song as an audio on the track, and for putting your song on the same level as the kama sutra

I Wanna Be With You, and a slightly different version of MANiCURE and at the start shes like “i forgot to get a pedicure so instead i got a MANiCURE” 💀

I went into surgery later in the month after Artpop released and a nurse said I was singing down the halls after I woke up from the anaesthetic. All I know is that I didn’t sing Do What You Want because I didn’t trust the doctors to take “do what you want with my body” as permission.

The original ARTPOP vinyl isn’t blue, its black and has the foil/shiny cover. The blue ARTPOP vinyl is an UrbanOutfitters exclusive that came out in 2021.

Unpopular opinion but I absolutely loved Do What U Want! The sound is so smooth and message of the song was fierce werkk 💅😌. Of course I hate hate hate the feature and am glad Gaga took steps to try to rectify the situation, but I really wish that they replaced it with the Xtina version on streaming services.
I don't understand why they didn't. It's just....gone on spotify. The Christina version is there as a separate album listing, but the Artpop album listing just doesn't have the song at all. ????????

Koons makes so much more sense! I literally always heard it as "Koontz" like the writer, and I was curious why she would make that reference specifically.
I didn’t see Pink Tape by f(x) on that list. Like the holy grail of albums (followed by Pinocchio by the same group (Pink Tape more cohesive and Pinocchio more of a accessible adventure). Definitely should check them out, because f(x)’s music is some of the most alluring K-Pop music. Sad they got really crappy music videos from 2011-2013.

Im an ArtPop “apologist” (in quotes because nothing to be sorry about) and all my friends know this. So much so that I always try to convince them that artpop is genius. ArtRave was also my first ever concert and it’s still the best time I’ve ever had.
Artpop released at a pivotal point in my life and it has made a huge mark on me, so I'm biased AF, but I've never been able to get why people trash the album so much.

As someone who was obsessed with every aspect of this era from announcement to today... there's an entire documentary, book, mini-series etc. from a fandom perspective of material to cover about this era and you just barely scratched the surface - I honestly think it was one of the most iconic and messiest 'eras' in recent pop history.
Just wanted to add the fact that when talking about Romani people the word g*psy is a slur. Moving was/is never "a choice" for the Romanis all over the world, it has to do with systematic oppression, xenophobia and racism and is a problem today still. Romani people are still today being denied jobs and housing because of their ethnicity. I'm way less educated on this matter than what I should be but I still wanted to speak up. ~ Words have power and some things doesn't age well, that's okay. As long as we continue to learn and try to better ourselves.

literally chromatica deserves all its flowers! It such an incredible callback of the energy of Gagas old eras, showcasing how Gaga continues to grow leaps and bounds in her artistry. The album itself alongside the incredible remix album showcasing the incredible talents of some big hyperpop names was life changing and continues to prove Gagas incredible talent.

ARTPOP is one of the only albums I have ever asked for a physical version for on my birthday. It was spectacular and genius and a showstopper
I loooved so much ARTPOP, however I do remember something that to this day still hunts me sometimes in my memory: everytime I watched gaga performing there was this creepy and conserning sadness and pain in her eyes, like something was off for sure. I was 16 at the time and couldn't undertand what it was with her. Now with everything we know and what she have been saying about those years, everything makes sense now. I remember that she said she almost quit music in 2015. Also, around that time she collad with tony bennett and the interesting thing is that when she performed those songs from cheek to cheek, there was so much light in her eyes and she looked so calm, I think that album kind of safed her life in a way, it was like her save place.
