It's incredible. I look at pictures of my daughter when she was younger and then see where she is now, at 16 she's still comes up to me and hugs me without me asking.
I can only hope and pray that she finds a boyfriend / husband that treats her like I do.

There is NO substitute for a girl to have a great Dad who openly shows her how special she is. Dads...tell her she is pretty...smart and you love her.....all the time. That formula will carry her for the rest of her life.
That shows you what kind of dad you should be, that your daughter loves you to hug and hold you in front of thousands.
Sadly I'll never see my dad ever again. He passed away over 20 years ago because of a blood clot. Cherish your parents while they are here now because once they are gone, that's it. I miss my dad every day.

There two days in my life I will never forget. There's the day I brought my infant daughter home one month premature; she was so small I could hold her in my hands. And there's the day I came home from Iraq after a year-long deployment when my twenty-year-old daughter nearly knocked over an elderly couple trying to get to me. Those were the best two days of my life.

I remember getting off the plane as I returned home from the Army in 1969 then seeing my mother and little sister wait at the gate. I waited 3 years for that day.
These coming home videos really show how much families miss their loved ones.

I would have loved this story a decade ago. Now that I'm a father of a young girl, it just made me cry instantly.
Well, although I have been on three continents and survived two nameless wars, starting in Virginia at VMI, When I saw that, I bet my neighbors could hear me cry.

@@rouyamam2611 First off, US gets most of its oil from Canada, Mexico, and some of its southern states. Secondly, there's never been a fight on US soil, because of the vantage we have over everyone else. Being close friends with Canada, there is amazing defense from the north, and most of the known bases are in the south so it's defended down there as well. And then on the east and west there is ocean. The US also has the most powerful military in the world. And do you not remember Pearl Harbor? The attackers got nuked because of the bombing. No one attacks them, because everyone is scared to. And lastly, the reason why we go over to other countries (Afghanistan, Iraq) is because aid is requested by locals, natives and so forth. The US is looked at for aid. And when shit gets rough, it goes through the fan. Thats why. Do you research before you talk and don't base everything off of the media.

@@sillieww im a marine veteran. you do not leave your troops/soldiers to go home for some non medical reason. that guys unit i bet were upset he went home before his unit did. you civilians think this is heartwarming and inspirational but as a veteran who deployed to iraq multiple times and knowing the army does 1 year deployments his unit was insulting this man for abandoning them. being in a leadership position and an LTCOL is a very high rank he knew the sacrifice, his family knew the sacrifice he would have to make. this is disgraceful.

It is just mind-boggling how anyone can give these a thumbs down. No heart I guess. We owe all the people serving our country thanks and gratitude. We have the greatest military in the world.
There're some people so brainwashed that they hate the military or anything to do with it not realizing just how thin the line is that protects us from terrorists, etc.
We absolutely owe them so much!! I appreciate each and every one who has/is/will defend our country. I cannot help but think that some of those dislikes are because he was home the night before and did not see his family until the game.

That`s funny and very observant, I am amazed with your perceptiveness, but anyway...scared me too. I never thought I would live long enough, to see a soldier, upon reuniting with his family, wishing his was back overseas, ass in the grass or in mud up to his knees, even in the rear with the gear, because he obviously wanted to be anywhere but here, he`s thinking on the way home...I just left a war... only to face true fear.
When you're married, all men know "the look" from the wife! Horrifying! It makes you want to live in Afghanistan!

In Operation Happy Wife, you will be a Private, basically retrained, ya fucked up, lets face it , no sense to complain, ya shoulda just stuck to beer on the plane.
Yes Sir, that is for sure, I remember my marriage, though it was a blur.. I put in my time, I survived my tour, I was in countless conflicts and battles behind enemy lines, I have been caught and interrogated by the most sadistic, cruelest, medieval torture and methodologies. But, I remained taciturn, and in the divorce I really got burned, I lost my wife and my home, after I figured out that I could be just as miserable all alone. lol
This hero is the only hero ever to come home from deployment and sleep on the couch his 1st night back with the family.
Now look what you've done- I'm watching this in UK and I'm in bits! Lovely story, just hope dad wasn't in too much trouble with the wife!

@@Beezlie727 Most of those soldiers died because officials within the national-security branch of the federal government ordered to go to some foreign country thousands of miles away, where they were placed in a position of kill or be killed.
