Freddie’s birth name was Farrokh Bulsara at school his friends called him Freddie & the name stuck Roger wasn’t at Imperial College he started studying dentistry at London Hospital Medical College but changed to Biology at London Polytechnic Freddie was a friend of Tim Staffell as they went to Ealing Art College together ❤ so Roger has a degree in Biology Freddie has a diploma in graphic art and design Brian is Dr Brian May he has a PHD in astrophysics & John has a first class honours degree in electronics such a great band ❤❤ absolutely love your enthusiasm for them ❤❤ Roger is still making music he released his 6th solo album Outsider in October 2021 & still touring with Brian & Adam Lambert I went to see their show at the O2 in London in June was fantastic Brian is 75 & Roger is 73 & are still rocking away love them ❤❤
Your enthusiasm towards Queen is fantastic! The name Freddie Mercury wasn't an officially new name only, but Freddie created Freddie Mercury as a stage persona, as an alterego. There were periods when he wished to leave THAT Freddie Mercury on a coact-reck. (Mentioned by the "mic guy" head of the roads, i.e. Peter Hince.) The band was very innovative and creative either in the studios or onstage, they were especially Freddie and Brian really prolific writers, the band wrote together cca. 200 songs. They stood by each other through thick-and-thin. Freddie informed the band members about his AIDS status only in1989. He decided to stop his medication 2 weeks prior to his death. According to his personal assistant Freddie died in peace after the announcement.
Freddie was born in Zanzibar, his parents were Parsi (Persian/Indian) but his dad, who worked for the British government, was transferred to Zanzibar. They sent Freddie to a British school in India when he was 7. After he moved back to Zanzibar a war broke out and, being British citizens, he Bulsaras fled to London. You could always hear the slight Indian part of Freddie's British accent.
I am a huge Queen fan, been one since 1974. I have seen them twice, 1977 and front row in 1980. Another band that is my favorite is Uriah Heep. A band that formed in 1969 and released their first album in 1970. They are still together today and have released their 25th studio album this past January. I highly recommend them.
Hey Philip... Thanks for the reaction, yes, in essence, everything he covered was truthful, but some things were not included... When given time for recording at Trident's new studio set-up, the band was only allowed to use studio time after other bands were done recording, which meant late night hours... also, they were asked to test out some new recording equipment the studio had purchased... hence the recordings of "Larry Lurex"... Freddie's alter ego... Check out "I Can Hear Music", I believe it was a Beach Boys' cover and "Goin' Back," written by Carole King and her husband... Freddie's first two recordings of music for the public. He never mentioned the fact that "Mother Love", Freddie's last ever song sung on the MADE IN HEAVEN album was never completed by Freddie, but was finished by Brian singing the last verse, and also contains a clip of his first song, "Goin' Back" and the "Note Heard 'Round the World", his Ay-Oh, also included in the end of the song... Also, he never mentioned the fact that the main-stream media in the UK were totally brutal to Freddie and Queen their entire time... which is why Freddie never announced his illness, trying to spare his family the humiliation the media would have subjected them to... Please do reactions to these... ruclips.net/video/WzA4OyalTuI/видео.html I Can Hear Music ruclips.net/video/3epki8NAbWg/видео.html Goin' Back My favorite line, "I can live my days instead of counting my years"... and "Catch me if you can, I'm going back"... blessings my friend.
FYI, just a couple of corrections to the last part of this: 1)At the end of their 1986 tour, Fred told the band he couldn’t tour live anymore… He didn’t tell them the underlying reason, tho. When Fred was officially diagnosed in 1987, he kept it a secret from the band and almost everyone. Mary Austin knew, and he did confide his secret to Montserrat Caballe. Freddie didn’t tell his band mates until 1989 when his weight loss was obvious. 2)After Fred was passed, his band mates didn’t just “discover/stumble across” material he had been working on and then decide to compile the Made In Heaven album. In the year before he passed away when he was quite Ill, Fred/the guys spent some months together in Montreux specifically to enable Fred to record as much singing as he was able, of lyrics they were writing for him. For each lyric, Fred sang it 3 times… because they all knew he would be gone later when the rest of the band finished working on the songs… so they would have 3 takes of his vocals to choose the best one of, for each song lyric.
HI Phil! Freddie's birth name is actually Farrokh Bulsara... he started having his classmates call him "Freddie" in school. When he changed it to Freddie Mercury - he did then always go by that name, except I suppose when he was with his family/parents. I don't think it's known for certain if he ever changed it in any legal documentation, though... at least according to Brian May. I saw an interview clip where Brian said that in the UK, it wasn't actually REQUIRED to change your name "legally" by changing it with filed documents... so, Brian said he didn't know if Freddie ever did that or not. (But, he did always go by Freddie Mercury... and Freddie's Mum called him "Freddie", at least in interviews.)
Hi Philip, thank you for reacting to this! If you want to learn more about Queen, I would suggest the documentary The Days of Our Lives. You can react to it in parts if you’d like, but keep in mind that it might play songs that you want to react to. Here is the link for Part 1 ruclips.net/video/pu2C9ozRX7U/видео.html
ALL FOUR ARE TRUE GOATS 🐐 LEGENDS 😍 LOVE FREDDIE REST EASY BROTHER AS AN LOVE QUEEN AN I STILL LISTEN TO ROGER AN BRIAN NEW RELEASES 🤩😍💯💫♾️✌️ AN LOVE YOUR CHANNEL KEEP ROCKING QUEEN AN ALL OTHERS 👍🙏
I have to make a comment about people like Philminizzy who seem to think Queen were exceptionally prolific. For one thing, in the Beatles' day if youreleased one album per year (plus some standalone singles) you were considered a bit lazy and in danger of testinfyour fans' patience too much. Secondly, Queen obviously can't compete with such musical icons of productiveness as Anthony Braxton, Sun Ra, Genesis-P-Orridge and...who's the other one, oh yes that's it...Frank flippin' Zappa...but compare their productivity to, say, The Fall, who averaged a studio album per year (plus some standalone singles/EPs and a ton of archival albums) for four whole decades.
Wow 🥰 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️ Freddie was born in Zanzibar and at a young age went to boarding school in India ❤️

Yes all instruments were recorded live. They were recorded to tape & then mixed together.

"....might've accidentally created Speed Metal"😂. I wonder how many OTHER "firsts" Queen accidentally created along the way?😉
