Her vocal changed but she is good woman singer still! Her songs are timeless
The NYE debacle proved she intended to sing the lead live but was going to use a backtracking for the whistles which is understandable considering how cold it was and that at the time her whistles like her voice was unpredictable from being overworked. Now that's she's had adequate rest her voice is in excellent condition.
As for the opening night of TECS she was clearly sick.
Short answer: NO.
But that's okay. She's already passed her prime and is currently in her 50s. That, and combined with the fact that she's been singing the most demanding and difficult songs for 30+ years (with nodules, no less), so naturally you should expect some wear and tear here and there in her voice as years go by. You cannot stay on top forever. But that doesn't matter. This woman has given us so many memorable vocal moments that are iconic and serve as a template for other singers to learn, study, and analyze, yet at the same time, her immense talents and vocal skills are just so insane that it could never be duplicated by anyone else. She's given us her everything and she's already paid her dues so that we can enjoy her voice/music and learn from it, so at this point she doesn't need to prove anything to anyone anymore. She's already a LEGEND. Period. And nothing can ever change that fact.
I'd rather have a happy and HEALTHY Mariah (vocal-wise) than have her forcing herself to sing continuously just for the sake of pleasing us her fans and impress the audience until she finally loses her voice. No Mariah, please don't force yourself. It's okay if you wanna slow down and take things one step at a time at your age with your current state of voice. Don't forget to REST please! As your fan, I understand and will always support you. Please take care of yourself and prioritize your physical and emotional well-being above all. I pray that you can still be here with us until many years later. Stay safe, stay healthy, and God bless.
I agree. Her current Voice (Pandemic Vocals) is still top notch though . I mean she can still outsing everybody at the top of the charts today. Esp now That the Golden Voice got the rest it deserves 👌 makes me more excited for her new music! She always full of surprises! Unpredictable Queen ♥️

Even with her current state of voice where many people think is nowhere near her vocal prime of the 90s, she still sounds a lot better than most singers today. As I have previously mentioned, her vocal skills and talents are just INSANE. She set the bar too high for singing that no one else that comes after her manages to just even touch it.

None of these performances are lipped...
Some of the performances for tv are prerecorded but none of her live performances here are lipped. Mariah’s prime was amazing but not untouchable and there’s certain things she sounds better doing now compared to at certain points in her prime or her prime altogether.
