I have the 5X for about a year. I listened to this and am pleasantly surprised how closely I agree with DetB review. I love the speed and quality of the phone, which is now at Android 8.0 and I also have the Google Assistant. The phone is so light and sturdy there is no concern about it slipping out. It is in ice blue, which is also holding up well.

Android built for Aarch64 has memory issues. Google knew this ever since the Nexus 9 with 5.0 were released. Yet they still put 2gb of ram on the 5X... As an owner of the Nexus 9, 6.0 has brought very small (if any) improvements to system memory consumption. When nothing is running you see 1.2gb of memory used and android system is taking up most of that. No this isn't with cached stuff in it, I am aware how memory management works in android.

I have an LG 4k OLED TV and I enjoy watching some of the captured moments with my family on the TV. 4k display is an overkill I agree but 4k recording? I think it will be a default on every future smartphone as gradually 4k displays will become the standard.

Great review as always! ^^ but I'd get the htc A9 over this any day... 29$ cheaper and I get a premium build (metal and GG4), amoled display, micro sd expansion, 3gb of ram and I've heard good things of the Sony sensor so maybe a better camera.

1:20 more amperage, not voltage. the voltage is still the usb standard (5V), but the current is 3A through usb type C.
Good review, although about the camera in low-light: when using HDR+ there is no phone out there that beats it. Not even the S7.
