Well the Boss and I drove from Winchester to Cincinnati (we had previously driven from Ocean City to Winchester) on Tuesday and I "LOVED" the drive up through and around the mountains, it was fun. Now looking forward to our trip from Cincinnati to the Sacramento in late spring to complete our Coast to Coast drive on US 50.

Fascinating that US Hyway 50 and Hyway 1 intercect at our nations Capitol.

Just discovered this -- this is wonderful!
Hey -- were you able to determine what specifically had the police detouring you in Washington, DC near the Monument?

Hi Rob, these videos are great! Thanks for making them and posting them.
I'm planning to ride the same route on a motorcycle this summer and I'm really enjoying seeing your trip.

It is an awesome drive! An excellent way to see our country! I hope you enjoy your ride and thanks for watching!!

That's funny because I thought about doing this because of the sign in Sacramento on I-80E/HWY50 said the same thing about Ocean City, MD. There was a high ranking Cal Trans worker who put it up because of the sign in Ocean City, MD.

Thanks for the ride. I've been thinking about this drive, but with the price of gas, I'm glad I could hitch a ride with you.

Thank you for watching! Yes gas was much lower when I did this trip last year. Now the trip would cost twice as much. Glad I did it when I did. I hope you enjoy!

As someone who grew up in the Annapolis area, this is a fun drive to watch, even if I do understand why my home part of it is a bit of a "boring" part of the drive.

Lol mostly boring because it’s pretty much all highway in the beginning. That coupled with having done it so many times lol. But once you get past DC the road becomes much more scenic and not big freeway.

@@baldrob3936 Never actually seen the VA side of 50 in person. I've done the drive out to the Shenandoah a bunch, but it's always 66 to 81S.

@@jacklogansmith7646 yeah it’s nice to slow down and see the sights if time allows. Rt 50 from DC all the way to Sacramento was gorgeous! But the WV section was particularly beautiful. Great drive!

Hey Rob. Anything worth visiting alongside this part of route 50? Any museums, historical sites, parks? Anything worth stopping and checking it, even a little reroute if necessary. :)

Wow where to start lol...a lot of places to see along this route. Some highlights I would suggest are St Michaels/Tilgman Island on the MD Eastern Shore. Annapolis is fun to check out including the Naval Academy. Obviously anything in DC as you head west. But I really enjoyed 50 west out of DC into VA. All of the towns we drove through looked like living history towns. Tons of Civil War history through that area. Then once into WV a detour down to Blackwater Falls and Davis is worth the detour. To be honest there is so much to see all through this part of the trip. However when I did this I was in a time crunch to get out to the west coast. Thanks for watching!
