I am from Fort Worth. The little cattle drive is reminiscent of the Chisholm Trail of which Fort Worth was a major stop. Millions of cattle were herded through Fort Worth. It's a wonderful city that still has a small town feel
Those are Texas Longhorn cattle, and yes their horns are massive. Joe T Garcia's mexican restaurant nearby is also a must. Other things to do nearby: Fort Worth zoo, botanical gardens, biking along Trinity River, the US Mint (There are only 2 places in the US where paper money is printed: Washington DC and Fort Worth, TX- and the tours are worth the trouble). There are plenty of sport venues, shopping, concerts, restaurants, and museums in the DFW (Dallas -Fort Worth) area. Also Glen Rose has Dinosaur Valley state park where you can see a couple of dinosaur footprints in the riverbed. Enjoy the laidback friendly culture!
Yeah, you're absolutely right. There's really a lot to do in the DFW area, and I made a few of videos on it ... (four I think?) ... but there's so much more. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for coming to Fort Worth. I just want out of towners to know that we are not a little bitty city. Fort Worth is a major city but it’s heritage is the wild wild western lifestyle. The stockyards is a small piece of Fort Worth
@@VahidMusictx I guess my “little city” is referring to that central business district and other close rings you may see in an urban planning infographic. I have lived in SF and a few cities on the eastern sea board like New York and Boston so my bar is high for “big city”. And Texas is just so spread out. I love that Fort Worth is growing and poised to develop further! The stockyard revitalization has looked great so far and will probably continue. I think a real game changer would be panther island if that ever comes to fruition. Cheers 🍻
Some of my family and I have lived in fort worth for generations. We pass by the stockyards daily from down town all the way through main st and 28th st. Back in the 90s lowriders ,hot rods and motorcycles would cruise bumper to bumper on Saturday nights. It was raw, live and wild it was our blvd like the way east LA still does it till this day. Watching the stockyards through outsiders perspectives makes me appreciate where I live a little more . Especially now that Yellowstone is being filmed at this moment its really cool to watch from the side lines.
Nice! I just bought a house in fort worth trails of Elizabeth, how do you like that area. I'm moving from California. I'm excited and I love the stockyards
@@gersongarcia5503 oh yea that's cool! Welcome to Texas! Well I love it its my home town but my goal is to move up north in the future.. I've yet to visit California but I'd love to someday
@@leticiahdz9583 nice, I stayed in fort worth before. California is beautiful, people are the problem. What part of Fort worth are you from, thank for the welcoming comment
Great video! The daily cattle drives represent when cattle would be driven from Texas to Oklahoma/Kansas/Missouri for sale. There are cattle drive trails that are now very busy roads in Texas, like 289 aka Preston Road which ends (on the north) at the Texas/Oklahoma border in the town of Preston where the cattle would cross the Red River. Texas history is very interesting!
Thanks. Yes, it's a pretty cool thing to see and learn about the history of it. Whilst it may seem like a normal occurrence in Texas, I've never seen anything like that before. Ironically, I was born (and still reside) in the English city of Preston!
@@UltimateBucketList wow! Yes, how Ironic! 😃 Yes, cattle drives are not common but I hear of a very few still happening when cattle owners move their cattle from one piece of land to another for them to graze on. The Ft Worth Stockyards Cattle Drive is definitely “for show” but a great opportunity to see Texas Longhorn cattle up close. I think they must be pretty old as they barely move along and I guess they aren’t too worried about them charging into the crowd. I’ve never heard of that happening there. I bet that was interesting to ride one!
Best guide video of forth worth sotckyards I've seen so far. Thanks man. I'm going here next week and needed an idea of what to expect. I'm more than satisfied with this vid. Thanks again
It's a photographers dream! There's so much to see and do. Get to the cattle parade early in front of the Fort Worth Stockyards sign and you'll have prime position like in the thumbnail (from a fellow photographers point of view!)
Thanks a bunch for this wonderful video . I really want to get there now either with family or friends . Texas is absolutely amazing . Cheers to all there .🙏👍❤️
what i love abt this place is that you can ride a mechanical bull without feeling embarrassed, and plus its even better with audience, and tbh i enjoyed line dancing here than in school
I was looking for cool things to do in FW and I came across this video. I was wondering why is everyone finding a bunch of cows walking on the street as "cool"? Then I realized, I come from India and it is pretty common to see random cows chilling on the streets in any Indian city.
Good advice! It took years to find a hat that fits my weird shaped head and boots that fit my flat feet! Probably should have gone to those places and saved me the trouble.
Did my guy just hop on a steer, take a pic, and hop off? Riding includes moving. You got ripped off lol. Cool video though and has helped me plan my trip to the stock yards next week.
It's a fun place, and I think you'll have a good time. With the steer thing ... it's more of a photo opportunity than a riding opportunity. Though there are places you can do that properly away from traffic and stuff like that.
The stockyards is FOR tourists. It's not a place natives tend to hang out. And yeah, Risky's is not a good representation of Texas BBQ. It used to be a lot better, but they've kinda gone down hill in the past 5-10 years.
Are you a wrangler? Rodeo rider? Horse showman? Horse trainer? If not than don't be surprised when some fort worth cowboy tombs you up for wearing something you haven't earned.
Bob Fort Worth is a growing city with a ton of opportunity. So it stands to reason that plenty of people who immigrate would move there and end up visiting the Stockyards.
Its nice to have a place like the FW Stockyards inside of such a modern city. Slows things down a bit.
Absolutely! Life is a lot more laid back in that part of town.

Just went there during my f1 Austin trip. Such a nice and unique place.
Yeah, it's a really nice place to explore! 🙂

It's more the pageantry than anything else. It's common in other parts of the world too.
i'd love to go there
One day you will!
Kind of sad I live less than 5 mins away and the last time I was at the stock yards was in 2000. I should probably go back and hangout there lol.

Ray Krebs, punk Anderson and Jock Ewing used to frequent it (Dallas TV show)
Ah, that's cool. I didn't know that.

There would be many more historical sites there but it was more important to tear those down and build boutique hotels and parking lots.

These are longhorns
So they just tie a steer up so people can sit on it all day? Peoples sadistic behaviors never fail to surprise me anymore
I think it's only for a coupe of hours, then they move them back to whatever ranch they belong to. There's more than one though.

Good. Then stay away. We don’t want small minded people tainting our city
Why does it matter if there were Muslims and Indians lol, they are still people there to do the same thing you were there for
Really? The surrounding neighborhood is 95% Hispanic.
