this is too amazing for us!! We are just discovering the powers of multi-band compression! So just like when you first found out about it ,is how we probably feel!
I hear that! I've been messing with trying to get bass to sound the way I want for a month...with eq/compressiong...I just got pro MB, fixed all my issues.
The functionality of FabFilter's plugins is amazing, but also very worth noting is that they SOUND great. I just started using Pro-Q3 the other day, and from the very first curve I set I was blown away by how clean the boost sounded. Also now using Pro-L2 and that thing is a remarkable beast. You want loud AND clean? Drop Pro-L2 on the master and have fun!
That PRO Q3 is a beast! You can do dynamic processing on it!! love it!! Only EQ we use! no need for nothing else! Draw a curve and right click and select make dynamic! this is dope for those kicks and 808 so they don't clash! Also you can monitor the other channels and see the frequencies and ect without having to pull up multiple EQ spectrums!
This just change my entire life!!!!!! The video and all the examples of the power off the multi-band compression! Had no idea the powers of this!! Makes you realize that simplicity is the key and there is no need to have millions of tools and plugins! You just have to have the correct tools and plugins and know them extremely well and what they do and what they are use for! this is by far the most amazing video on fabfilter Pro MB!!!!! So grateful and bless to com across this and to learn the powers of our investment on certain plugins! We love #fabfilters and the more we get familiar with them the less amount of plugins we are using and guess what !?? The less amount of plugins we use our music is getting better! lol Thank you so much for this amazing video! Happy Holidays!!!!
Yeah I hear you on that. It would be nice to have hard values. Same thing with the dynamic EQ on Pro-Q3. It would be nice to have attack and release control like on TDR Nova.
I followed your procedure for ducking the subs when drums hit, but when i mute the drum channel, i can still see the MB compressing the sub bass. Plz help !
Isn't that what you want? It's the expected behaviour. If you want an area without ducking, just delete the drum hits on the source track, or use a ghost sidechain source track to drive the sidecain input on ProMB.
@@warpacademy I mean let’s say , during a part of the beat yea ? i don’t include the kick drums , but i still saw the MB compressing the subs there . But i solved it though . I had to reclick once more on that EXT button inside the advanced settings and then it was working fine . :)
Hey hey. This meter is a proprietary one that comes with the RME audio interface he's using. It's not avail as a plugin, but it's really sweet looking!
It is a very cool plugin. The comment that Ableton Live makes things sound thin is inaccurate though. DAWs are all very transparent and phase cancellations tests have proven this many times. It's specific production techniques and use of native effects or plugins that will influence the sound. Read up on this: www.image-line.com/support/flstudio_online_manual/html/app_audio.htm
@@warpacademy I used to use Protools, but now I use Ableton and I can say i noticed the sound quality drop instantly. All you have to do is too drag a well mastered track into both daws, bounce them and compare. Protools sounds cleaner and fuller whereas Ableton sounds a little muddy in the mid range.
multiband compression changed my life.
proper use of multiband comression can really make it sound professional
Agreed completely.

Agreed. There's a good reason why engineers around the globe all use FabFilter plugins as some of their main tools. Enjoy using Pro-Q3 and Pro-L2!

Cheers! Glad you've been enjoying the videos!
Pro mb is an amazing plugin, I barely use it to it’s full potential! Thanks you for the great video!!
Cheers Nick. Glad you liked this one.
Cool video i've had use pro mb before love that dynamic eq God Bless
Thanks for tuning in and watching!
@@warpacademy oh no, thanks you for that Great labour
the 1 thing i dont like about pro mb is the fact that it doesnt use absolute values. all time controls are arbitrary values
Yeah I hear you on that. It would be nice to have hard values. Same thing with the dynamic EQ on Pro-Q3. It would be nice to have attack and release control like on TDR Nova.
@@warpacademy its really the only con i have about it though. if there was a mode that let you switch to absolute values i'd use it for everything
For sure. That and maybe sharper slope options on the cutoff filters. All round a great plugin.
Thanks for video. What's name of spectrum analyzer at intro ?
It comes with RME interfaces. It's called DigiCheck. It does not work without RME hardware. I'd recommend Voxengo SPAN.
Great video . Thank you
Hey thanks for tuto :)
Have you got an advise for a comprehensive vocoder..cause all my vocoder vst dont allow me to ear clearly words.. :/
Hey, Dan here! That really is based on the synth and the band amount you use. I doubt it is on the vocoder.
What you think about Drawmer 1973?

Hey Dan,
I was wondering what the name of that spectral level / metering plugin is in the beginning of the video was

thanks ! from Russia )
You're most welcome.
tbh the fab filter pro mb sounds better than ozone 8 dynamics
Pro mb is good more than flux alchemist?
👍👍
this looks very cool and like what I need. Unfortunate that Ableton makes everything sound thin, but I get the idea.

@@warpacademy yeah that does seem to be true. Ill admit it's just a personal bias
