  • Some of you really undersold "Hessian Peel" and I'm trying to figure out why. There's acoustic guitar, a jump scare, a new demon variation, powerhouse vocals, harmonies, sections. It's epic Opeth! I already have my next 2 songs in mind. First, The Moor and then To Bid You Farewell, so stay tuned for those. Also, I'll be posting my live video next week, I think. I wasn't able to get the copyright removed, but at least it's not blocked. Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed The Peel. :)

So the answer to your question about Mikaels retiring his demon voice, is that he no longer consume this kind of music he said. In fact, he stopped consuming that kind of music back in 1995 & also stated death metal to be boring to listen to nowadays. He also wanted to make music without growling but was afraid to make a big jump so instead, he faded the growls down over the course of albums until 2011, when he completely stopped growling as he felt it was the right time to abandon it. As a fan, I completely love their death metal and prog rock music. It would be awesome to have Opeth do just one more really satanic heavy song! or an album! I think Opeth was the best band to do metal, I find metal to be boring unless Opeth is the band, because they make it right. Love the reactions

13 albums and the last 4 are all demon free! They are all exceptional albums, despite a lot of "OG" Opeth fans complaining about the direction he took. Damnation, an older album from their golden era, is also demon free. Funny it's ranked very high with most fans, though, so yeah...you just can't please em all😂

Honestly one of my favorite Opeth songs of all time, and I think it's seriously underrated.
First time on this channel, but I'm so glad you picked this song. And I love your facial expressions around 9:00 (before "the demon" as you call it xD). It looks like you sense that something is coming, and you look noticeably uneasy. That kind of anticipation is something I feel Opeth mastered on this album, and I love seeing peoples' reaction to it, because those peaks and troughs of Opeth songs are what I adore. They take you on an adventure. And the power of Mikael's harsh vocals coming so suddenly, casting this song into chaos after such a lead-up that gives that sense of uneasiness but also serenity, then as the anticipation builds, the sudden surprise is both startling and expected.
Anyway, way more of a synopsis than I intended when starting to write this comment. But there's a reason Opeth fans are fans, and usually it's more than "Swedish guy go GRRR" :) So glad you've been introduced, and was happy to see your reaction!

Mike retired the growling vocals actually with the album just after this one. There were rumors back in the day that he may have injured himself because he sounds significantly different when he performs them now vs then but Mike maintains that he intentionally retired them because he felt he had taken that sound as far as it could go. I think the lyrics are a bit off in this and that Satan part was in reference to some ridiculous Led Zeppelin controversy forever ago. @@MusicCatsandCoffee Weird, there are a hundred (give or take) reactions to full length non-stop Opeth songs that haven't been taken down even after years of being up. I wonder if it's simply RUclips's algorithm that flags it but no action is taken. Oh well, at least it doesn't seem like you have to cut down your videos to remove the musical content.

Surprise! It's Me, Demon is actually the title of their most recent release.

You asked what was Opeth's title song or encore? From what I gathered in watching a few concerts, they sometime close with "Deliverance."
    So, food for thought.

The reversed lyrics are nonsense or silly, it was a "placeholder" that they ended up keeping 🤪

Lauren please react to faith in others. It is one of the saddest songs of opeth, it doesn't have the voice of a demon, in the watershed he was killed ...

U can react to any song off Blackwater Park or Still Life. Cant go wrong but it would be best if u hear all songs of Still Life in order cause it is a concept album.

Oh, also, forgot to mention in my big comment - the lyrics in the video you watched weren't 100% correct. Just worth noting. Like "Skin is blocked by the years of trial" should be "Skin is marked by the years of trial" ...The song is definitely a bit ethereal and cryptic, but it DOES have a story and it does make sense. :)

no warning for the “wild side” this time.
This is an album 💿 transition , the last one of the old growls era . This is the reason why he is vomiting 🤮 here all the hursh voice remaining is regurgitated in , combined with delightful lyrics

You should react to Coraline by Maneskin. It's an italian band who won eurovision and the song is in italian, but there's a lyrics video with the translation. I'm italian but never really paid attention to them until today and that song is beautiful and has a very sad story. You will like it.
