I think cause it's just sweet. He doesn't man handle her, doesn't try to kiss her, doesn't try to be cool, he just gently asks her to step in with him, then admits to his nerdiness and tells her that she made him see his life's work in a whole new way because of how she talked about something she loved that was sort of her life's work (or at least passion), and it was a synthesis of their respective passions, and he just sits there with her, letting her have this front row seat.
But would a sequel be good? I love the movie so much, it is my favorite one. But would they be able to recreate what they did with this movie? I don't belive so, sadly.
@@ioozemayonnaise847 That could be a possibility, but I fear it has the same chance of beeing dissapointing and not living up to this movie. I would watch it still though I guess xD
Ever since I watched this when it first came out(I was a child), every time I hear Secrets, I always think back to Sorcerer's Apprentice. I just listened to secrets and I remembered this scene exactly. The good old days:)
The good old days indeed, right now in 2022 remembering all the good movies back then. It's nostalgic and sad at the same, knowing that I couldn't experience the memories I'm supposed to enjoy fully twice. I guess what people said are true, every moments counts.
I love his voice so much. Jay is just so adorable. He's always playing nerdy characters, and seriously, that voice, just yes. He is on my top celebrity list right up there with Dante Basco. I think they're both tied for first place.
Yes, and the fact Nicholas Cage is in it too. I definitely love Nicholas Cage’s voice. But Jay is also one of my favorites for sure. I love to be intellectually stimulated. For me, if a guy can’t hold an intelligent conversation and doesn't have a philosophical side to him, it would be a hard pass.
0:52 nobody really ever understands the power and emotion in this scene and the whole story of the movie. I like to think it is the expression of love. After all he worked for 2 years on those coils and rigidity and structured order kept him from seeing the symphony in front of him, only when he saw (spent time with) the expression of the word love (object of his affection) to him did he see the beauty of life the sound of life all around him, and feel the need to express the way it made him feel.
I can picture myself trying this to get a girl. If only I had a lab, was the apprentice of a sorcerer, and figured out how to create vibrations with big tesla coils to make it create a song.
You don't need a scorcer you just need to study science electricity Tesla coils and how the few museums who actually have it have done it. Im sure there's a RUclips vid on here to show you

The lighting and the acting are also excellent. The writing is decent but this is a moment that doesn't need any dialogue. Honestly I was pretty annoyed when the singing did kick in. It was perfect without it, and even if it wasnt as beautiful, the sound of the tesla coils MEANT more to the characters than the singing did.
I just heard Jay’s Canadian accent come out really strongly when he said “radio show” and it made me giggle and it was a weirdly pleasant feeling because I’m Canadian and you don’t usually hear stuff like that otherwise
