I heard the news and came here I almost cried. Groups like the Oakridge Boys made me like country music. I remember listening to Elvira when I was 11 I thought it was the coolest song ever. RIP Joe you were the star of the show with that smile and the way he made his eyes wide open. You could tell that he loved performing
Happy Retirement Joe Bonsail. Everyone of us have enjoyed hearing your voice throughout the years. We also believe that you will still sing of the Lord in your own way. Thanks for sharing your voice.

RIP Joe Bonsall. The pain has gone and I hope you rest in eternal glory. Thank you for the many decades of wonderful music. Giddy up, um-poppa-um-poppa, mow, mow
Oh no….The Oak Ridge Boys will never be the same without Joe Bonsall. I saw him in concert had front row seat. He came up to me and shook my hand several times along with the other members. He was such a nice man the whole group was and they played their number one hit songs! They ended the concert singing “Elvira.” In fact we were the last ones out because we were so close to the stage I was able to set my phone up on the stage while I was dancing and swaying back & forth to their music! They came out after the concert & talked to us the lead singer to Exile who is best know for the hit song "I Want To Kiss You All Over" is married to the lead singer of The Oak Ridge Boys so we also got their autograph! I was so close I got great pictures too! What a great loss to Classic Country Music. It seems like we are losing all the Great Ones. Awe....now this really makes me cry as it was stated about Joe Bonsall "But JESUS and his family always came first-and we will see him again on the Promised Day.” Believe me I saw him in concert up close you could "see" Jesus in him! You really could! See you later Joe on the other side where you are now with Jesus.
Joe, i will miss hearing you sing with The Oak Ridge Boys, but understand your reasons why. My dad sang tenor, so tenors are my favorites to hear sing (you, David Phelps, Austin Brown, and Jimmy Fortune). Please enjoy your retirement, and may God grant you blessings during this time of your life.
Joe will always be remembered as an Oak Ridge Boy. We wish him the best and will continually keep him in our prayers as well as his wife and entire family. Enjoy your retirement, but we do plan to see you again!! We love you! Gerald & Katie
Thanks, Joe, for all the wonderful music, happy dancing as you sang, and being the life of the Oak Ridge Boys. I heard a whisper that it is for medical reasons you chose to pull away now. You will be lifted up in prayer. You have more than earned a place in that heavenly choir when your time comes. The best news is you will not be alone when you get there. There are many late greats waiting to welcome you to your heavenly home when the time is right.
I was enjoying Joe on NYE back in the 70's in NJ when he was part of The Keystones! You will be missed! We are so appreciative of your testimony and your love for Jesus. Prayers and best wishes as you move on to other things in life!
The Oak Ridge Boys will be certainly missed like the other groups that have gone before The Statler Brothers. They’re all great Sherry and sharing your life with us listening to your music.
We made a special effort to see him in concert a couple of weeks before he had to retire. It was sad to see him having to be carried out onto the stage. He could not stand but did a great job.
I had the privilege to see Joe in his first season when he joined the Oak Ridge Boys. Thank you Joe for your ministry and dedication to performing with excellence!
What a great group of guys. I got to see them all in concert back in the late 70's and even stayed at the same hotel as they did and saw them going back and forth to their rooms and of course loved meeting them. Rest in Peace Joe, you've earned it

I went to my first Oak Ridge Boys concert in 1983, and was hooked! Every time they came to the Sunrise Musical Theater in Sunrise, Florida, my sister and I were there. I had tickets a few years ago for where I live now, but my husband had a heart attack and then a triple bypass, so I didn’t get to go. That was their farewell concert. I was hoping that they would come back. I will miss you Joe, but still listen to your music every day. Thank you for bringing joy and the gospel into my life!
He’s 1/4 of the Oak Ridge Boys, the newest member with 50 years of membership and I have listened to them every year for 50 years. Joe, thank you for those wonderful memories of the very best in entertainment. My prayers are with you and your family because God is not done with you yet. 🙏 🇺🇸
