why do you need to make assumptions at all, especially when you base those assumptions on very little information? It's not necessary to jump to conclusions in order to establish a "starting point". It's just not logical. It's like... if I see you not eating apples and then automatically make the judgement that you hate all fruit. It's completely illogical and unnecessary to make such assumptions. I don't need to jump to the conclusion that you hate all fruit in order to establish a "starting point". The starting point can simply be that I don't ever see you eating apples. An intelligent person would know that it doesn't mean you hate apples or hate all fruit. Maybe you eat apples when I'm not around. I can just ask you or observe you more. I don't need to make any quick judgements about it at all.
I don't see why you're unable to go into things with a learning attitude and just absorb things, instead of wanting to jump to any conclusions or pinpoint any judgement about it right away. I think you put too much emphasis on wanting to add yourself into things (YOUR judgements and feelings), instead of letting yourself go so you can fully absorb something else. It's really tiring to be around someone who is always making unnecessary assumptions or judgements, cause you're always having to correct them. If they just paid more attention to others instead of their own thoughts and judgements, then they can come to the right conclusions by themselves. That's what being perceptive is about. If people are always having to correct you because you always make the wrong assumptions because you judge too quickly, you are not a perceptive person.
I'm glad that your judgements are easy to change and you're very open to being corrected. But like I said, it's just tiring to always have to correct someone when it can be avoided if you just didn't make unnecessary judgements. At the end of the day, your method causes negative feelings and reactions from most people. So then what is the point of insisting on that method. It's not conducive to helping someone if your method of making quick judgements is making them feel like you're not perceptive or that they have to keep correcting you.

      You are right !
It's hard to explain everything , and it's even harder to talk math to people who doesn't know anything about it .
going all technical at once it's a bit hard to digest.
you are an intelligent and intuitive yourself, so I can tell you I'm not judging them, why do I need to judge ? apart from the fact that I have no problem people judge me based on what they see :D
I'll try to be easy on the subject, and keep it in my it's hard to keep the balance, some people are really into the subject and enjoy the process and others have their own critics and opinions. I'll do my best to keep the balance but as it grow bigger it becomes something really hard, then you have to choose doing what you enjoy or doing what other people enjoy.
In my case If I do what other people enjoy I'm sure at some point I'll stop making videos ;)
thanks for the comment and the analogy btw.
      have a great day

@@Cyrusyami "It's hard to explain everything , and it's even harder to talk math to people who doesn't know anything about it." - okay yes you know more about behavioral science than I do, but the points I addressed aren't complicated, they're just simple logical reasoning based on what you explained in the this video. I think I understand your approach quite clearly, based on your explanation and observing your approach in your past videos. I gave that apple analogy because you have done that kind of thing very often in your reactions.
"so I can tell you I'm not judging them" - okay, but you just explained in the video why you judge them and now you're saying you don't judge them? You DO make judgements and it's actually fine to make judgements. But that's not the point of my comment - the point of my comment is that you make UNNECESSARY judgements and jump to illogical conclusions.
Just to give an example, in one of your Rise of Bangtan reactions, you saw that people were auditioning for Big Hit and jumped to the conclusion that Big Hit must be a big company, just because people were auditioning. That's a very illogical conclusion to come to. It would be like saying a small business must be a big business just because they have customers. Even the smallest company will have customers, doesn't mean it is a big business.
This is the type of unnecessary judgements I'm talking about, you do this quite often so it has become a pattern. And according to your explanation, you do it in order to establish a "starting point". I don't think it is necessary to jump to conclusions in order to establish starting points, that's all.
When you make a lot of incorrect unnecessary judgements, people have to correct you a lot. And I know you are open to being corrected, but if people have to correct you all the time, are you really that perceptive? A perceptive person doesn't need to be corrected that much, they are accurate in their judgements. Because they don't jump to conclusions or base their judgements on limited info.
Anyway, I'm just giving my feedback as a viewer because sometimes you might not be able to see yourself very clearly. But I'm not trying to discourage you from doing reactions, and I think you are a good person. I think you give very unique reactions, I hope you continue and enjoy yourself. But since you say you are all about change and growth, I think there are certain things in your method that you can re-evaluate and take viewer feedback into consideration. But if you want to stick to your method, that's fine. This is going to be the last time I'm going to make any comment about this.

Let me just say this because i do understand Him. Some people are naturally intuitive of people's behaviour and personalities and most of the time it's automatically. It's probably a type of personality of who he is. Like me. I can't help but try to categorize people in my head especially new people because that way i can know how to deal with everyone appropriately. This is something i noticed about myself and at first i hated it and thought that there was something wrong with me and people often called me "A very judgemental" person, but later on in life i realized that it is kinda like my personality to analyze how people interact and behave and i take notice of the tiny details like when they say something that makes me have a little understanding of how their thought process works.
This analysis to me personally are automatic and i can't help but to alayze and understand people. I have now understood that this is not a bad thing but it has actually really helped me reach out to people who hide behind their walls and i even once saved someone from depression and suicidal thoughts just by constantly standing next to her and sitting next to her during lunch. This was because i noticed that she was VERY antisocial but she got terrified of people coming close to her, but still hated the loneliness. But I persisted untill eventually months later she opend up to me and i found out so many disturbing things she was going through and she told me that she has gotten better because of me just acknowledging her presence without scaring or suffocating her with so much as a greeting. The most i would do to her at first was smile really briefly and then turn around just so she doesn't feel too tense about attention because i noticed she needed it but was also scared about it.
Just wanted you to know that analyzing people is not a bad thing that is "judgemental"

@@noelamini7350 what you described and what I was talking about are different things. Categorizing, making judgements, or analyzing people is not inherently bad. That's not the point I was making at all. You're talking about being perceptive and being in tune to other people, so you are able to make more accurate judgements. I was talking about jumping to illogical conclusions or making extremely broad judgements based on very little info, which is not being perceptive nor does it yield accurate conclusions.
If you're making wrong judgements because you jump to illogical conclusions all the time, you're not a perceptive person. And that was the point I was making. He explains that he's open to being corrected and does not hold onto wrong judgements, but does not take into account the reason for why everyone needs to correct him all the time. It's because he often jumps to conclusions unnecessarily, and results in inaccurate judgements.
I gave the example of seeing someone not eat apples and then making a judgement that they must hate all fruit. Which is the type of illogical conclusions that he tends to jump to. It happened a lot in his older reactions, less so in his recent videos. For example, in one of his Rise of Bangtan vids where he saw that people like JHope and others were auditioning for Big Hit and immediately jumped the conclusion that Big Hit must have been a big company simply because there were people auditioning. Which is completely illogical, it's like saying a small business must be a big business because they have customers. This is just one example, he did this kind of thing many many times to where it became a pattern. And then people have to be very busy in the comments correcting him. If people have to correct your wrong judgements all the time, are you really a perceptive person? Is the method you're using yielding accurate judgements?
Again, to re-iterate, making judgements or analyzing people is not a bad thing at all. But in order to do it perceptively and accurately as possible, one can't be jumping to illogical conclusions or broad judgements based on very little info. But anyway, I feel I've explained this thoroughly enough, so if you guys or anyone else still can't understand the point I'm making, it's all good. I'm not going to explain my point anymore cause I feel I'm just repeating myself at this point lol. It was just feedback for him because I felt what he was doing was not being perceptive. But I did notice he is doing less of that stuff in his more recent vids, so it's all good.

I don't know if you know but black swan is a very significant song in bts's discography.
It's about the fear of an artist who thinks they might be falling out of love with their art.
And bts reached that stage in 2020 because of the pressure of fame.
Map of the soul 7 was supposed to be their last album before they went on a huge world tour and then went off to the military.
But they had to put off and cancel all their plans due to the covid pandemic.
And so they kept going and making more music even tho they reached multiple black swan points.
It's basically them saying we are having a artist block, we have reached exhaustion. So we are going to take a break to ensure our longevity as artists.
If we keep going and exhausting ourselves maybe we won't love music anymore?
That was the title of the rolling stones article about RMs interview with pharrell. "Don't like music anymore?"
RM talked about it in his conversation with Pharrell. Pharrell gave him some reassurance from a seniors perspective. The feeling is temporary.
The artist will always come back to music. Just like the last lyrics of black swan where they already reassured themselves they won't get carried away by this shadow.
Shadow here of course is referring to the Jungian concept of shadow. The repressed parts of a person's personality/psyche that remains in unconscious. When too repressed, the shadow lashes out as the worst parts of a person's personality.
The persona (the social mask) and the ego (the idea of I) keeps the shadow in check most of the time. But if one suppresses the unconscious shadow for too long... it will manifest itself on the outer parts of a person's personality.
So that's why in ON (the continuation of black swan, the lead single), bts talks about conquering the shadow or bringing it out.

BTS’ albums are thematic and have a purpose (I recommend a video called [FULL] BTS 방탄소년단 GRAMMY Museum Interview & ENG SUB) and Black Swan is part of the Map of the Soul album series, so to fully understand the song, you have to understand the psychological concepts by Carl Jung and, of course, the dancer Martha Graham is also a huge influence on the meaning behind the song.
Martha Graham said “a dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful.”
I’m not a big fan of autotune, but the use of autotune was very deliberate in this song, it’s intended to compress their individual timbres to a singular voice. They’re essentially playing a single character ‘The Artist’, who is struggling with their ‘shadow’ (Jungian archetype) and the fear of losing their love for their art. They are afraid that music will no longer move them. The autotune demonstrates that lack of passion. The shadows signify their doubts and fears. Again, the fear of losing that passion for music. And at the end of the day it is something we can all relate to, even those of us who are not musicians: we are all afraid to stop enjoying life, we are all terrified of living without motivation and passion.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoy listening to your opinions and also everything you always mention about people's behavior and their personalities, also you are always open to healthy debate, so it is very interesting to listen to you.

First off it would be nice if you would finish the video prior to ending it. It is a mistake often made with BTS because they use blackout cuts and silence as an effect oftentimes. The last scene which you did not watch shows the shadow disappearing behind JK. It is an important effect in the story.
BTS often draws from the teachings of Carl Jung and his writings about the persona, the ego and the shadow in each of us. As a behavioral scientist you probably have come in contact with his work. You will see similar themes running through much of their music and many of their videos.

so there are few ways you can group bts' discography. one of it is BU which i told about in a separate comment. but their albums also are divided into concept series. it's chronological and i will write in down from 2013 to 2020 with super short descriptions:
    School trilogy about school
    • 2 cool 4 skool
    • o!rul8,2?
    • skool luv affair
about the turmoils of entering adolescence
    • dark & wild
    • wake up (japanese album)
    Youth trilogy about the adolescence
    • the most beautiful moment in life pt1
    • the most beautiful moment in life pt2
    • the most beautiful moment in live young forever
about the turmoils of entering adulthood
    • wings
    • you never walk alone
    Love yourself trilogy:
    • Her
    • (there also was japanese album Face Yourself)
    • Tear
    • Answer
Map of the soul aka Carl Jung:
    • Map of the soul Persona
    • Map of the soul: 7 Map of the soul
    • Map of the soul The journey (japanese release)
after that they also released BE album talking about pandemic and PROOF which is an anthology album
these are all just thematic arches. sometimes the order of the songs in the album can tell the story better like with LY albums, but overall within one category it won't be drastic to change the order. while you go through the bts discography it might me helpful to notice to which era which song belongs so you can understand which are theoretically connected

They are the ones responsible for perfecting bts choreos and videos. The lyrics always written by RM, suga and jhope (bts members also contribute) + produced by hitman bang(their CEO and producer).

I don't know why it made me laugh so hysterically when you called Jin the gentleman of the group. It's true that he's extremely well mannered and polite. Elders compliment him on that a lot and he's been called the Manners Idol because of how thoughtful, polite and respectful he is of others. He shows his elders respect as is expected in Korean culture but he goes the extra mile in ways that stand out to even them. Plus he also extends that respect to younger persons, ensuring that they don't feel too uncomfortable or pressured when they're around him as he's their elder. He likes to make sure everyone around him feels good and will do what he can for that. Now, that said, he is such a playful, boisterous, wildcard a lot of times that it's hard to think of him as a gentleman. In every video about BTS behaving wildly and unpredictably, he's in most of it. If BTS was a group of kids causing ruckus on a playground, Jin would be the ringleader. We adore him and his funloving ways but the man has the most crackhead energy in the group sometimes.

For the music let me explain:
All their albums/music is connected by concept:
2cool4school + ORUL82? + Luv School Affair (2013/2014) is a trilogy of albums focused on school, it criticize school system, students, teachers, talks about school life, school love and trying to break out the rule of school (the idea of studies are the only way to success and your dream does not count in the process you just need effort regardless of much you do you need to do better).
Dark and wild (2014/2015) is the point of going from a teenager to an adolescence so it's about love, heartbreak, wanting to rebel...etc.
The most beautiful moments in life + the most beautiful moments in life pt2+ the most beautiful moments in life: young forever (2015/2016)[BU content) are a youth trilogy talking about youth, the pain of growing up, the struggle, mental health issues, youth passion, dreams, fear of future, denial of facts, not accepting the changes and loneliness so basically the struggles of youth (lost youth). And it was the starr of their alternative universe story known as bangtan universe (BU)
Wings (2016) [BU contents]is unique album about temptation (trying to break free from the disappointment of our youth and being tempted to do the wrong things and lie to ourselves hate ourselves and it's inspired by the book demian by Herman Hesse).
You never walk alone 2017 (well we never walk alone)
Love yourself her + love yourself answer + love yourself tear (2017/2018) is a love yourself trilogy about accepting yourself, knowing yourself, loving yourself and speaking yourself it starts with her as a representation of us loving others above ourselves seeking live from others then to tear where it's all wrong everything is falling down, we are being fake to each other and lying to ourselves and it all comes back as pain and suffering. Then comes the answer which is ourselves, love yourself and speak yourself and be yourself you are the answer to everything you've asked for. Start with loving yourself and spread love then you can love others and receive love.
Map of the soul persona + map of the soul 7 (2019/2020). It's the journey of self exploring as artist or as yourself it is inspired by carl jung map of the soul book which talks about the process of individuation between persona, self, ego and shadow they explore through their songs these concepts of personality and definition and black swan is part of MOTS 7 (map of the soul 7) and speaks about how loosing passion is like the first death to an artist.
Dynamite (2020) pop disco track single to cheer up during pandemic and first all English song
Be (2020/21?) Album about pandemic life it cheers up people resonate to them and it's just like home during hard times
Butter (2021) single about cheering up and living life smoothly (carefree) and second all english song.
Permission to dance (2021) another all English single totally carefree and gives hope to see what is after the pandemic
Proof (2022) a legacy of BTS moat unique tracks (3 CDs including title tracks (cd1) tracks chosen by members (cd2) and unreleased demo versions (cd3) )+ 3 new songs(yet to come about their new chapter in music industry/ run bts about their achievements and team energy/ for youth, a song for ARMY, the members and everyone who helped, supported them) it was a goodbye for a while album.
After each album they released Japanese albums with Japanese versions of their song+ original Japanese songs. (My fav is film out) + Solo mixtapes and songs free on SoundCloud.

Great comment! I was gonna do something similar, but I'm glad you beat me to it. You did a far better job than I would have. I'd like to add just a couple things for Cyrus to your comment.
As Housna Aouad pointed out BTS does trilogys. So, the original plan was for a Map of the Soul Trilogy with: Persona, Shadow and Ego. This song, Black Swan, would have been included for the album MofS: Shadow. So Cyrus you are correct feeling like you're coming into the middle of the story. Instead of the trilogy they released Map of the Soul 7 which combined all the songs from Map of the Soul: Persona plus many others to create the overall theme to Map of the Soul with Shadow & Ego. I think you should react to the whole album. I think you would really like that and analyze away! :-).
Should you decide to go through the whole album (IMO this is their best album) there are a couple alternative music videos you can check out for songs you've already reviewed.
      -'Black Swan' Art Film
      -ON Official MV
If you want more commentary on it, Bookish Theory has great videos explainig the three: Persona, Shadow and Ego using comments by RM and other members as a reference. While her channel it titled "Theory" she's pretty spot on.
Also, just a brief note MotS is first mentioned in their BU storyline. As again mentioned above the BU is about the struggles with one's self. The answer ultimately given to the protagonist of the story is to find the Map of the Soul, ie... knowing yourself. Knowing your persona, the shadows within you and ultimately accepting it all as your ego to true self.

The whole song is inspired by a quote from the famous choreographer Martha Graham: "A dancer dies twice. The first time is when he stops dancing, and this first death is much more painful." That's what the guys are singing about: how, having become well-known stars and celebrities, they can lose love for their work, thereby losing themselves.
They seem to remind themselves, listeners, and, of course, their fans that the most important thing in creative work is creativity, not fame and popularity. It is impossible to let fame, wealth and almost intangible success overshadow the most important goals of your creative path. For both dancers and singers, the first death is the loss of interest and love for their own works, for their work: the loss of passion and the impulse to create - that's what really scares one of the most popular groups in the world.

i want to leave here boy's thoughts on Black Swan
*Namjoon* : Black swan's meaning... It was written assuming 'when I can't do music anymore' & 'when I come to dislike music'. Of course, I do think at times that it might happen because, honestly, if all jobs were started as a hobby because you liked it, there are lots of instances where you come to dislike it as it becomes business or work. But now, because that music or that stage is the only thing that gives happiness, joy & moving emotion as much as it gives pain, even after feeling that pain, you come to think that you are a person who has to do that. I think it's always like that
*J-Hope* : The moment I think, 'I want to do well but is this my limit?', I do think at times that I don't want to do music. But whenever I do think that, I really dislike the me who has that thought and try to overcome, win over it
*Jimin* : To be honest, right now we love music, singing, and love performing, but thinking of the possibility of that no longer being fun and touching us at some point, I thought it was really gloomy and I think we tried our best to portray that gloominess

I watch a lot of reaction channels because we, humans, naturally love to "share" the things/subjects that we love with others, and we seek appreciation of those things from other people, but I trully enjoy yours. Honestly sometimes it's a little bit irritating how you assume some things a little bit too early ( the guide reaction for example) , but it's only felt that way because ARMY have seen, listened to, and read more content so as long as you're trying to know more about BTS in general, it is not a problem for me since you don't seem to hold any kind of prejudice, and your reactions/thoughts/doubts sound even much more natural and real to me this way. I know that some comments can be really pressuring and you will face different opinions even on trivial things ( such as your favorite singer in BTS that you easily mention here for example ) but I hope that wouldn't change you way of doing things and that you will always say things without feeling the urge to justify yourself each time. ARMY is a massive fandom, so it's obvious that there will be a few who will not be satisfied and In my opinion, it is not the role of "creators" to satify a mass, but to create a community with whom you enjoy the journey.

    Love Yourself Highlight Reels.
There are also Japanese versions of some of these MVs that add a little more to the storyline but those can be tricky to react to on YT bc of copyright laws.
There's a lot more to the BU than just these MVs (blog posts, a webtoon, etc) but this is definitely the way to get started. It's also important to know that the storyline is mainly told on the visual level in these videos. The lyrics of the songs themselves are mostly detached from that.
Black Swan is not part of the original storyline which was fictional and partly based on Hermann Hesse's novel Demian.
I'll be looking forward to your future journey of discovering BTS and their extensive body of work.

🤪 someone judging you for judging others is hypocrisy. I agree with you on using quick judgment as a starting point.
As I like to point out when some reactors are called ignorant: ignorance is not a crime; choosing ignorance is.
The whole point of watching BTS reactors is to encourage open mindedness, and watch your personal growth.
As they have enriched my life, I hope BTS does the same for you. Be well. 💜🇨🇦

So, I'm going to do a little explanation about Black Swan and how it works in the Bangtan Universe, according to reviews I've read, and adding some theories that start from my own analysis: Black Swan has several meanings: The meaning as inspired by the movie of the same name and in the Swan Lake play; also its meaning on the album (map of the soul: 7) where it makes connection with other MV's of the same era, like ON, Ego and Shadow, INSIDE the album proposal, representing the Shadow inside us, a dark side that doesn't We know; which generally talks about "Shadow, Persona and Ego", in the concepts of Carl Jung's psychology. It also has its meaning more focused on the personal side of BTS, the simple thought of "what if, we lost the love for art?", sounds like an outburst from the members themselves (the lyrics were written by Namjoon and he himself explained what led him to writing black swan). Now in BU; Black Swan references scenes from Awake and Blood Sweat and Tears, but in terms of concept meaning and in the MV scenes, I believe these references to BU are more "homages" than actually a continuity of the story, the character of Jin, for example, in BU is tied to the legend of Narcissus, according to theories from the MV for Awake and Blood Sweat and Tears, so there are numerous scenes where he is tied to metaphors with mirrors, reflections, a plurality of "selves" (in Black Swan ; the scene where he turns to the camera and all the reflections stare at him). (there are articles that talk about this indirect reference of Black Swan in BU, I remember that I read it at the time that the video clip was released, but unfortunately I don't remember the name of the magazine, but .. I'm pretty sure it was in the Rolling Stones..)
BU starts with I need u, in 2015, and goes on to Fake love and Epiphany, in 2018, officially. But disagreeing with many theories, I believe that 90% of their Mv's reference the BU and continue the meaning of the story, enriching it in a much more metaphorical way than actually following a script. Stay Gold and Film out more recently, for the good understanding, make clear references to Fake love and Spring day (even I need u), not meaning that they are continuing the story, but using the same/or similar concept and message that the story contained in specific scenes and characters. I think it's something that some ARMies should look at more openly, and not expect BU to be just a story about characters and suffering, and that the main thing is the message it implies in their discography. (But it's just my humble opinion haha, when you enter the BU you will come to your own conclusions, of course.)

In the beginning of their career they talked about their youth and struggles.
(School themed /hip hop style- what was initially the base of bts)
And then they got inspiration from book/writers/artists.
Overall in some MV they have a hidden universe (BU) and the story in the videos are connected.
In some videos they react on criticism. (Idol/ they symbolise korea after being criticised of beeing to westernised)
Some are simple some are extravagant.
But the mv and the lyrics are often more than meets the eye on first sight.

Black Swan is a piece of art ! Other Armys has already give you explanations about this song, the meaning of the lyrics, and his place in the "Jungian era" composed by the 2 albums Map of the Soul : personna, and Map of the soul 7 (witch combine Ego and Shadow concept ). For me, Black Swan always have a strong impact, because I'm also an artist and I had loose my passion when I first met BTS , so it hits me hard. Passion is back in my life now, with music and hope, thanks to BTS. But when I watch the 2022 Festa diner, learning that BTS was really at the point of losing their passion when they write this song, and that they keep going only for us, Army, to cheer us and help us during the pandemic, not knowing who they are anymore with the unexepected succes level they reach with their english songs, it's break my heart again, and each time I'm listening to Black Swan, I'm teary. They work on themselves as individual with their solo projects now, then have to go to the miltary service, and we will patiently wait for them to come back in a few years with new dreams, new goals, and all the passion and joy they can find as artists, because they promissed The best is yet to come...
Wooh, I talk a lot, sorry. Initially, I just have the intention to recommand you to watch some live performances of this song : at the Late late Show James Corden, or the Tonight show Jimmy Fallon (on line during the pandemic) , it's as beautiful as a dream. And they performed Black Swan in their PtD concert in LA , it was stunning ! . For me, Jimin is the embodimment of the black swan, with his dance. He has done some solo dance on this music, too.

Black swan was inspired by a movie named black swan. You definitely should watch it. It's about a woman who is a ballerina but something terrible happens to her and she had to stop dancing. They say "a dancer dies twice and the first death is more painful " . In this song bts talks about how it will be their first death if music and art no longer makes their heart beat faster and if they lose their pation for music. Black swan itself has two different meanings that bts used both of them in this concept. One is called the black swan event which is a metaphor that describes an event which comes unexpectedly that has a major effect on your life. The others is that black swan is a symbol that describes am insight about yourself which changes your position from a victim to victor. Meaning of a reminder to move from a position where you feel powerless and reclaim your personal power

I am pretty sure they include longer scenes into their Memories DVDs that come out once a year. I unfortunatly haven't had the time to watch Memories 2020 yet (I am pretty sure they are over 12 hours long from what I remember.. maybe even longer). It is gonna sound weird to say, but in a way I can't wait for ARMYs to have a true break, because even tho I have been an ARMY for over 7 years (and listening to them since debut) I still haven't found the time to watch things like Memories 2020 and 2021 which I am gonna do as soon as everyone is in the military and I am not hit with new content basically every day hahah
Ohhh fun fact this MV was a total secret. They released Black swan with a mv which featured dancers from Slovenia. And then later out of no where they dropped this MV.. WE DIDNT EVEN GET A TEASER OR A WARNING, SUDDENLY THERE WAS A NOTIFICATION FOR A MV AND EVERYONE WAS CONFUSED.

Black Swan is part of Map of the Soul album series, it talks about the shadow that comes with fame and success and here specifically the fear to lose their passion for music.
Inspired by the film Black Swan, which is a film about ballet (hence the video being shot in a theater and the contemporary inspired dance style) and in the film I believe a dancer said that when a dancer stops dancing it's their "first death" (which is what Suga says in his verse, the fear that music does not make his heart beat anymore).
So you asked about a time line, I think this song ties in with the topics explored in the album Map of the soul. The map of the soul is a concept developed by Swiss psychiatrist Karl Jung explaining our self by shadow/ ego/ persona... Here Black Swan and On (which is from the same album) talk more about the shadow part, their own shadows, what they are, how they face it! The rest of the songs in the album complete the narrative, the map of their souls.. (that's my interpretation)

Bts music videos are not all connected in a story, this mv is just a mv for this song. Their albums are conceptual, they went with stories for each stage of their life. They also have a made up story, known as Bangtang univers, and that is somehow portraited in some of their mvs throughout different albums. Usually the mvs are very well created to tell the story of the song, but in those related to the BU they portray the story of BU and connect with the actual song mainly through the emotions they emote.
And for all of it of course it's a great team of professionals, almost all ot their mv are done bumy the same director, same company.. So between those professionals and the ones from Big hit, the come io with these results :)

Actually the bangtan universe (BU) is pretty complicated. Even i get confused sometimes cause there is so many layers upon layers.XCeleste has a pretty good explanation on the BU in her channel and i think that could help you if you're interested. I'm sure armys will suggest the best sources for you.
BU conects not only songs but MVs ,short films , webtoons , concepts etc to make an ultimate fictional storyline that's so interesting and beautiful
My favorite part of the BU is the wings area. It was inspired by a philosophical book named damian by Herman hese (if I'm spelling it correctly)i read the book and it was so well put together. I think the concept was RMs idea im not sure but he read the book. i would like to get into the BU once again with u. It will be so much fun

Regarding the personality video, you were simply telling us about what you thought their characteristics are like based on what you saw so far, and I believe there's nothing wrong with that. We all do the same but the thing is there are many people who are too stubborn to change their first impression and they are ones who miss a lot in life, but at this point, I know you are not like that. I think you make it clear when you are talking from your subjective or objective standpoint. And I like to hear your perspectives aka "judgement" because it's from your objective standpoint, which actually makes sense if I take it with a "non-judgmental" mind, ironically. Please keep going!

In an old series BTS did, called American Hustle life, a lady listened to the boys sing and said that Taehyung (V) has a voice that makes people feel things and is soulful, that his voice makes people want to listen to it over and over again.
I completely agree with that, his voice can make you feel whatever he wants you to. It’s a complete gift that he knows how to use so well. He has soul and you can hear it in his voice. It’s so unique.

First of all I like your honest reactions, since you are just starting to get to know this BTS team, and all its artistic production environment. Black Swan belongs to the Map of the Soul 7 conceptual work, in which BTS has worked on the concept of Jungian psychology (Karl Jung) and its archetypes of the unconscious. Archetypes: Person, Ego and Shadow.
Black Swan deals with the shadow archetype. As you have said that you are interested in the "ins and outs" of production, motivations and behaviors, I am going to pass you the link of the global press conference for the album in which the members talk about the album.

If I'm wrong, please please correct me.
There are several "lines" within BTS' MV trayectory.
The first videos were mostly disconected but they tried to transmit the same message of hope to the youth.
Then in 2015 comes "I need you" which starts the Bangtang Universe. It's basically a bunch of MVs, short films, stories... that tell a story within a story. Too long and complicated to dive in at your stage in the fandom. Wait a couple of years, I'm not kidding.
At 2016 they launched "Wings" that started a new stage withing a stage, since the BU was still ongoing.
In this new stage they start to dig into the psyche, through books like Damien and The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, and using the Jungian Model of the Psyche.
I think the most "psychology" charged songs are a good starting point and this might be:
    -"Blood, Sweat and Tears" ruclips.net/video/hmE9f-TEutc/видео.html
    -"Fake Love", ruclips.net/video/7C2z4GqqS5E/видео.html
    -"Persona" ruclips.net/video/M9Uy0opVF3s/видео.html
    -"Shadow" ruclips.net/video/PV1gCvzpSy0/видео.html
    -"Ego" ruclips.net/video/LmApDbvNCXg/видео.html
A few more MVs could be added before, in the middle or after but this is just a basic list.
AALL OF THIS IS DEBATABLE. There are hundreds of theories, some theories say all their MVs are connected, some say the BU is finished, some say it's not over, blah, blah, blah.
BTS conection with psychlogy has been there IMO since RM read Damien and his mind took a trip. I don't know how to say it in english. Flipó en colores 🤣

Are you talking about the BU? Bantang Universe is an original story that is centered on a series of music videos and short films, independently produced by HYBE and Big Hit Entertainment based on characters played by the members of BTS. The BU has expanded to include short stories, books, a webtoon and a visual novel. A drama is planned to be released as part of the BU. ALL OF THIS IS NOT FROM REAL LIFE, IT'S A FICTICIAL STORY.
Or you are talking of the Mv in general? For some of the videos/albums you have to read some books to understand. .

answering the description under your reaction, BTS has a Bangtan Universe, but Black Swan is not part of it. you can distinguish BU music videos scrolling down their description, there must be "BU content certified by Big Hit Entertainment" in the end
Bangtan Universe tells the story about struggles and traumas, about a lot of heartbreaking events in character's lives, including death, addiction, loneliness, etc
each of the boys has an important distinctive character with his own story connected to others
keep in mind that's it's fictional, complicated and highly based on symbolism
i'll leave the list of the BU MVs in the correct sequence below, so you can save it for the future
BTS Danger (some may not agree but it has some similar shots)
BTS I need U (Original ver.)
BTS on stage Prologue (Eng sub)
    BTS Run MV
BTS I need U (Japanese ver.)
    BTS Run (Japanese ver.)
    BTS Epilogue: Young forever
    BTS Boy meets evil

BTS Film Out (isn't officially a part of BU but it's so uses the same visual language that I put it here)
and also maybe these songs, because "save me" and "i'm fine" always appear in these mvs ^
    BTS Save me
    BTS I’m fine
also official non mv releases about BU, that explain the plot, so maybe read it afterwards:
Webtoon Save Me Series (aka an official explanatory comics)
The Notes 1,2 (aka the whole books if after all these ^ you wanna dive DEEPER)
i'd say that storyline more influences MVs than lyrics or sounds, because BTS' albums has their own narratives aside storyline. these narratives (like Love Yourself theme and Jung's psychology theory) can be applied to storyline too, but they also can be fairly applied to the any part of anyone's life, so
you can ask me any questions, i'll do my best to guide you :)

I've actually watched theory videos that does a good job of tying in No More Dreams MV to the BU the same way you did with Danger... so while it may not be officially labeled as BU, I think in Bang PD's mind they're all connected.
I would also suggest watching BTS Live trilogy Episode III The wings tour trailer
BEFORE Blood Sweat and Tears since it's a trailer for it.

@@sjm5750 I added Danger with purpose of showing where they tried out an idea of creating the world and the characters. personally I don't think No More Dream is supposed to be tied to BU since it has different theme and aim. as people we may find connections anywhere really :) sometimes it's fun. but sometimes I feel like connecting everything to BU is a little disrespectful to the other messages that songs and mvs outside of BU try to tell. as much as BU is an interesting story, I don't want to support being too obsessed with it, so I stayed close to the official list of mvs with an addition of Danger for fun and Film Out being too suspicious even for me haha
and Tour trailer is trailer for the tour, not for the blood sweat and tears mv. it was originally released more than a month later after the mv, thus it goes in this order

    • @sjm5750
      @sjm5750 Год назад

@@erume5776 I understand and know what you mean about the list and the order.
Of course you’re right that sometimes we can read too much into some things, but like you also said… I’m just adding my two cents too for fun.
The general idea from what I remember to the theory is that No More Dream MV shows the hangout or hideout place of the boys. The connection to the BU are:
-same props are used as what appears in BU
-the blackboard with all the writing has a diagram/picture of BUTTERFLY.
-One of the graffiti on the wall has RUN written on it.
I’m pretty sure there were other references, I just don’t remember it. But all these things were intentionally put in the MV and “to be seen.” I think it is very possible the overall BU concept has been in the mind of Bang PD from the beginning. Maybe they just decided to flush out the storyline and label the MVs beginning with I NEED U.

the feeling you have about the mv is essentially intentional, the story isn't supposed to have a beginning middle and end, it's supposed to signify the feeling of losing passion for your art. “A dancer dies twice-once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.” -Martha Graham. this quote is the basic theme of the song. there are also philosophical concepts in the mv. as a philosopher myself, this mv is my favorite one they've done :) i thought the message was straightforward compared to other songs and music videos they've done but it makes sense why someone (especially a new fan) wouldn't get it right away. im not going super in-depth as i'm sure other people have already gone in-depth in your comments. as you go along through your bts journey you'll come to realize that every little detail you think is insignificant or details you don't even notice is actually extremely important. as RM once said, his goal is to create art that people really think about. he said that music people understand right away is good, but his calling is to get people to say "oh, that's what he meant! that's what that signifies!" to create art and music that gets better with every listen. just like you said, he's a mastermind.

No black swan was not part of the storyline, infact it was like a conclusion to their chapter one's journey. If there was no COVID, then they wld have taken the break at that time to explore individually nd ofcourse, for enlistment aswell. Even though we were very touched by the lyrics, we were still not able to measure the depth of the situation until recently.

The late great choreographer Martha Graham said, "When a dancer can no longer dance or loses their passion, that would be their first death and the most painful". This quote applies to anything BTS, whether it is their vocals, or their dancing, it is all about losing their passion.
Suga speaks of his "first death" early on in the MV.

When you talk about "best singer", do you mean their vocal technique? As someone who teaches vocal lessons, Tae does have a very unique voice, but if you were to judge them solely on their techniques, it has to be JK. I think you simply like Tae (V)'s voice. I really do love his voice too, but if you watch a bit more videos of them singing individually, JK is the most stable when reaching high notes even without backing vocals, and while dancing. There is a reason the group and their CEO chose him as their main vocalist when they debuted. One thing tho, Tae does have a very wide vocal range, but he gets a bit unstable when reaching the high notes without the backing vocals. This is why we see a lot of videos of JK singing acapella while there is less video of the other members singing acapella.

Hello, Cyrus! I've enjoyed watching you create your own concepts of boys. That's why I've read that they judge you a lot for having different opinions and sometimes rushing around and asking you to report more , I think in the end those people don't practice what they preach (they practically do the same to you). Anyway, I really like your reactions. By the way, I think your bias is Rm and your bias Wrecker is V. 🙊
