Dev just seems like such a good dude. This movie looks like it was made with love and not just thrown together.
There was an interview somewhere suggesting he isn't very nice to people below him. But maybe he is always pleasant with his peers. Anyways it isn't confirmed either cause people can bluff. Only way to know is actually interacting with him in a social setting with no cameras present

For Jordan Peele to openly say that Monkey Man is one of his favourite movies is without a doubt one heck of a flex! Well done to Dev Patel for obviously putting his heart and soul into this movie.

Dev is so articulate and beautifully brilliant. Already purchased my ticket... April 5th. I became a Dev Patel fan after watching the film Lion. Mr. Peele, thanks for helping to bring this film to the big screen. ❤

These are the films audiences are in need of. Hearing Dev wrote and directed this and Jordan Peel produced it was an automatic watch for me. I’ll watch anything Jordan Peele produces on film and Dev Patel hit this out of the park.
Peele did not produce it. He just bought the movie off of Netflix, cause he said it needs a theatre release. And right he was.
To produce a movie really only means to invest in it whether it's financially or through creative approval. Jordan's name holds weight so he basically allows ppl to use his name to advertise films...nothing too impressive about that lol
This made me so emotional! Dev is my favorite actor. Seeing how Jordan, someone I admire so much, backed him up, gave him support when he needed it the most, has made my day. I am so excited to see Dev in these new roles as screen writer, director!
I love this pairing. Dev is such a great actor, and Jordan is a wonderful director. I am SO glad - and proud - that Jordan continuously uses his platform and status/power to put other black and brown people on like this. Such a good dude.

Apparently the Gordy scene in Nope is a very personal one to Jordan Peele. We follow a chimpanzee on a rampage, lashing out at the studio exploiting him, ending tragically with Gordy being shot in a state of confusion. One can read Gordy as being a stand-in for Jordan himself, and how the industry has taken advantage of him and other marginalized actors over the years. With that in mind, I have a profound respect for how he's elevating fellow creators with his position in the film industry. Providing a chance for the voiceless to finally make a sound

it is absolutely bonkers to think of Dev's role in Skins way back when and how far he's come. didn't know about this film til this interview popped up in my recommended with these two legends, but I'll have to check it out!
and the fact that the character chris in skins, played by joe dempsie, often referred to himself as the "monkey man". haha.
Can't wait for this film!!! I hope we see Dev Patel in the next Jordan Peele film, would be cool if he co-stared with Daniel Kaluuya too, as a sort of full circle moment since they were in Skins together when they were kids
What a power house!
Just saw it today on a quality RPX screen and the movie was bonkers great! Patel did one whale of a job along w/ his co-writers and a fantastic crew of largely Indian actors and production crews who clearly know how to do full-blown action flick. Patel is just as great in the lead.
I got an ad for the trailer of Monkey Man awhile back watching RUclips. Normally I roll my eyes and wait for my opportunity to click the skip button, but I was pulled in right away by it. I'm so glad that happened, because I don't think I would have known about this movie otherwise (and it's already one of my favourites of the year). Hats off to Dev Patel and his team. They did a phenomenal job
This is exactly what happened for me as well. 😂 saw the youtube ad and so glad I never skipped. Saw the film yesterday and I’ve never been so impressed with not only the acting and action but the cinematography as well. I do hope he wins awards for this one.

Hahah i was just thinking why isn’t anyone commenting on the soundtracks and arrangement in the movie. So it was Jordan who arranged it. It was insanely good.
No, Jordan didnt arrange it. Dev arranged it and Poole offered a couple of strategic suggestions... Dev agreed worked better.
Jed kurzel actually did most of the score, which was another hook that got me interested since i was familiar with his work on Justin Kurzel’s Macbeth. Both great movies with fantastic scores.

This movie is awesome and timely and carry’s so much depth. It touches everything right and wrong with the world in general while still being highly entertaining. I hope he only gets better. I love how everything and every person of quality aligned to get this done. Brilliant.

I went to see this movie in theaters last night and was blown away when at the credits I saw Directed and Writen by Dev Patel. It was such a good movie. Definitely recommend.
Mark my words. Dev Patel will be one of the greatest actors in the world with Oscars to his name. Where there is will, determination, perseverance and a never give up attitude, there is NOTHING in this world that can stop you. This guy will go down as one of the legends of cinema!!!

I saw this movie tonight with a mate and by the end we were both in awe, it was by far the best movie I’ve seen in years.
The buildup into the movie was well paced that added backstory and context to every detail we missed in the beginning, half way through the movie it went real deep and built up into the ending with VERY satisfying moments up to the end.
I saw the movie and it was epic was not disappointed one bit
The acting, the story, the action brilliant.

@@dynamicpisces monkey man also refers to god hanuman and religion is a very sensitive topic in India. If you remember the back panthar fight scene where baku challenges him,baku says something about being from the hanuman tribe or something . That scene was not shown in India.
@@frankiestein8482 I don't think it's anti hindu. The concept of monkey man is kinda inspired from hanuman actually . And the film also has sikandar kher in it, so the film definitely is not an anti hindu, he wouldn't have done it, if it was. And afterall the movie is a revenge story, nothing to do with religion.
