Few years ago I was in the lowest point of my life when I came across this game. Moments like these really gave me a weird sense of comfort that was seriously needed at the time. This song always reminds me of my late dog, as I had become a fan of the game soundtrack/album shortly before she passed away. I was 29 when she died; we’d been together for nearly 15 years - half of my life. I remember playing her this song, along with others, on the piano with tears in my eyes as she lied there, sedated by the anti seizure medicine she was on to make her final weeks bearable. I listened to the album as I drove to receive her ashes & again as I returned home with them. Whenever I listen to or play this song, I will always be reminded of her. Rest easy, girl. 😢
I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is one of the most difficult things anyone can experience, as it's the loss of a best friend. You sound like a caring soul, and I'm sure that you gave her a fantastic life.
I'm really sorry for you loss, I've lost two dogs in the past few years , they were besides me while playing death stranding... actually they were besides me on any game., but some game resonates more than others, Death Stranding is one of them. For instance, the last guardian makes me cry because they were both still alive while i was playing it. Dogs are angels, can't live without them.
@@astridtrisorio4894that’s the thing though you don’t want to live without them but it hurts so bad to lose one that it makes you not want to go through that again
My cat Baggy, he was with us since 2004, he always sat next to me while playing a game in bedroom. I talk about anything. My happy and sad times. He passed away in 2016. My grandparents that I knew so long and go too their place to relax and be with, always was there. Went places had passed away, granddad in 2016, nan 2024. I think the reason why I love the game but it was too close too home. And my disappointment of relationships or connecting. J was mostly 2014-2019 walking out on the streets, feeling disconected from people. But I saw amazing people that were at its time, life. And I think why I didn't play most of the game because of the polarisation, all the things that were going off. I just missed the things I missed, this game kinda reminds me now of the begining of the new world we are in. We can all feel it.
This shit fucked me up. My mom committed suicide back in I think 2012. I ended up with a portion of her ashes. Years later I wound up homeless, decided to hitch hike from the east coast to Colorado. Wrapped my mother's ashes in a shirt, bubble wrap, and a bunch of duct tape. Kept her in the bottom of my pack. 6 months later I make it Colorado and stayed with my sister fer a while. Left the ashes with her. I dunno, this part of the game just fucked me all the way up. Seeing Sam's mom, how fuckin heavy she is on his back.. Keep on keepin on.
I remember when this game came out I wasn't really sold on it, nothing really compelled me to get it. I brought the subject to my good friend who told me "it's probably my favourite game." I asked what's so good about it and to which he replied "give it a go." So time when by and I eventually got the directors cut. Halfway through the game and I can only agree what an absolute gem of a game this is.
I've come to realize it's not just a game, it's therapy. These moments when the music kicks in and the camera pans out.. I forget about reality for a moment. Total immersion.
i cant even describe the feeling when you at the end game and get the last mission here....the music and everything....its a feeling you cant describe too someone who havent played it...its not a game for everyone....but man it hits hard for the once it for
its just a masterpiece. i've been to iceland once and it really is my spirit country. everytime i see this landscape inspired by iceland, i feel like i am back there
Death Stranding is an incredible game, Hideo Kojima truly created a masterpiece, the sense of place in exploration is unmatched, I have never played a game quite like this. 😊
I'm not even kidding, I assumed it to be an Amazon delivery game until I heard the first song in the soundtrack, and that's the end of it. Now, I've finished the game, and I was left speechless.
The music in this game is like 50% of the reason I loved this game. The other 50% is the satisfaction of delivering stuff in the most efficient route possible while dealing with invisible monsters and traversing (at times) treacherous terrain. Just started playing it again for the directors cut and it's still amazing.
My father was fighting cancer for about one and half a year, then he lost, yes, that was my failure aswell. This moment reminds me of my last ride with him to the cemetary. Thank Kojima, indeed !
I had never seen any reviews or gameplay footage before getting this game, but now I believe it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The calm and relaxation it brings are beyond words.
Death stranding seemed like it was too much hype to be good but after playing it it has become one of my favorite experiences in gaming. It truly is something different and beautiful
This part hit different first time around and possibly forever. Never finished it but got myself the director’s cut and I’m determined to do it, ready for DS2! 🙌🏻
Exact same here. I estimate I’m about half way done and for some reason got pulled away. I’m going to hop back into it this month. Excited for the next game.
Same for me. After bringing the corpse to the crematory I run into bunch of BT as the weather has changed. I barely made it running through the tar and rested leaned on a rock with BB. I felt really exhausted. One of the most memorable moments in my 40 years gaming history. This game is truly art.
I didn’t care much for all the BTs and other enemies in the game, but I just LOVED traversing the desolate landscape. The harder the terrain was to navigate, the more I loved it. It was even better on PS5 with 60fps.
one of the best games i have played, because of this game I understood that I should never trust reviews bcuz I have slept on it for so long thinking its bad & I regret it
Believe me, that magic resides in the fact that music is always played in PERFECT moment! The walk downhill to reach Port Knot City is a stellar moment, thanks to Asylum for the Feeling playing in the background... the song wouldn't have nearly the impact if it was played at any other moment.
I remember my friends looked at me like I was nuts for buying the "walking simulator." I've wanted it ever since it's reveal back when I was in high school and finally got ahold of a copy this year. I was excited to have something chill to do between writing my two senior theses for my double majors but what I didn't realize is I got so much more than what I thought I was paying for. The game is so fulfilling and challenging in the best ways. It helped me get through one of my hardest college experiences/challenges and I appreciate this game, and the bonkers stories that Kojima can tell through his games.
My favorite music-meets-the-scenery moment was after that first brutal climb up and over the mountain where you first encounter the BTs. And then on the other side is that long walk down to the city/port below. I'd never felt such an emotional moment from playing a video game before.
I remember the first time I played this masterpiece then the music kicked in and i didnt expect it. gave me goosebumps. then everytime it would happen, i thought it would get old pretty quickly but the game is so well paced that it keeps hitting me hard everytime. This game is the first game I COMPLETELY UPLOADED as a FULL PLAYTHROUGH in my channel and im so proud of it coz it was one hell of a journey and im so glad I got to experience it that way.
It's not only about the gameplay... It's about the experience... The level of feeling you have while playing... The game makes you come back just to deliver shit... But the experience...
This game is just a piece of art, entertainment, an crazy and almost simple story that can many of us think of it in different ways. I loved the "think about the others when you walk, leave always something behind". I dont know, Theres many things I love about the game and cant wait for DS2!
I was highly doubtful i was gonna enjoy this game but the moment that song hit and the camera zoomed out i was hooked. Great game to relax or shit yourself to
I brought DS at launch on PS4 and never really gave it a proper go. A couple nights ago I finally finished the Director's Cut on PS5. It's a masterpiece. Not everyone's cup of tea but everything from the landscapes, visuals, music, interface and the story is just brilliant. What an experience. Cannot wait for DS2.
I hope anyone reading this tries this game in a slightly different way. I tried this new way after two things happened to me. The first was when I was driving into Dis Center South of Lake Knot. I saw those two AI porters as I pulled up to the entrance and I watched them walk off with their orders. I pondered it for a bit before going in, thinking about how they were still walking around while I was driving on roads. The second time is in the second half of the game after you get to the mountains, when you are pushed back into walking where roads can't go, and further on and the difficultly of traversing it all. I loved it. So I tried it over again, this time with no roads, and no wheeled vehicles. It changed my experience quite a bit. I implore you to try this game without the roads and vehicles. To get to the end as you started, on your feet. It is quite something to walk around with just you and your two carriers hauling everything on foot. Having to plan your routes and equipment that much more. Where your Chiral Bandwidth and the limits of what you can build are that much more important. Where you still have to scale the mountain cliffs instead of driving over them. It is MUCH slower paced, but the battle against the environment is that much better, and at least to me, a much more rewarding experience.
THIS. this is the reason I love death stranding so much. It is not for everyone, and that is ok, but these simple yet impactful moments make the games grind worth it. It’s a game about solitude and helping other players without directly interacting with them. I only hope that in the sequel we are able to play music while making deliveries because goddamn the soundtrack adds so much more to the overall experience. Thank you hideo for creating a game that got me through a lot of tough times.
Exactly the same happened to me aswell, the first time the song played and the graphics just blew me away, the songs really added to the Epicness of the game, although i do wish he had an audio player on him to listen to tracks whenever in the game. Cant wait for the sequal i really wish it came out sooner though :)
I really love this game. Walking simulator, hiking simulator or whatever tf you want to call it, booting this game up and play it after a 12-hour shift really put me at ease. Masterpiece. Cant wait for death stranding 2
It’s been over a year since I’ve played Death Stranding, which I never finished- it is a time consuming game! But it’s such a GOOD game. I fell in love with it immediately, and my memories of it are fantastic. It really sticks with me. It has such a powerful mood, and there’s so much to do. I loved being “The Man who Delivers.” It’s in my “Valhalla” stack- games I am not playing but hope to play again one day, and have nothing but great feeling for.
This was a game I went with zero expectation on enjoying it. But decided to buy it anyway on a whim. It's by far the game that surprised me the most. I was so hooked to it... I couldn't count the hours to get back home and play this game. Unfortunately I don't think this is a game for a 2nd playtrough. At least for me... But man what a ride this was
This song and the very first one after the cave in prologue carried the game's initial atmospheres impression. They fitted so well for this game's theme so beautifully adapted
I fell in love with this game during the intro of the game. The way the environment was presented with that beautiful song made me feel happy and comfortable. Luckily I got this game in 2019 when Epic launched this for free(Director's Cut) but it was this year that I was able to play this game.
I still cant put into words why i love Death Stranding, my friend got it on humble bundle and they asked me what it was like and i had zero clue what to tell them
This game is beyond incredible and the amount of people that either won’t give it a chance or say it’s too long is disappointing because this game is truly one of the greatest games I have ever played
Ame tanto death stranding en un momento dificil en mi vida despues de romper una relacion larga. Sentarme a jugar este juego de kojima me cambio tanto y me hizo sanar gracias Kojima.
Watching the gameplay, feels so different than actually playing the game. The gameplay put me off for like 2 years, then it was on sale on PC, and I thought, fck it, lets try it out. And the intro, aboslutely blew me away. I got HOOKED from the first second to the last. Don't regret playing it. Definitely a masterpiece.
Thanks for sharing this video it's from the beginning of the game. Death Stranding... What a complete masterpiece. It can take the simplest of tasks and transform that into a complete journey/adventure that has you teetering on the edge of success or failure at any given step if not taking great care. What an interesting concept that focuses on staying present in every moment, but yet you can also let the controller lay idle and chill in the world and literally rest while you are surfing RUclips or eating or chilling with your cat LoL. Had been curious about it for a while before finally purchasing and eventually playing into completion. People either love it or hate it but for me, what a unique and deep experience which I feel more people need to learn to appreciate. The music soundtrack is so unique as well.. And to my knowledge you never actually kill anyone when playing the game which is a nice departure from call of duty style games. When watching your video I realized now the significance of that body on his back and who it is and how they connect, but when first playing the game you don't know that stuff yet so it's cool the way they created and designed everything so what caused me to realize that were the lyrics in the song playing. The genius of this from the creators is what makes this game special. Furthermore what made this video a deep and spine tingling experience for me was when you were walking up to the incinerator area, I realized also the last time I played this game and heard this song my beloved kitty of ten years companionship was still alive and by my side she was always with me. So the whole concept of the death stranding game came full circle to my own experience, I miss Pookie so much and I felt a connection to her after realizing and connecting all of this near the end of your video. Because now she is not here to hear it with me anymore but I know she does hear it with me because she lives on in another way now! We are still connected even though I can't hold her in my hands and arms, I hold her ever closer now in my heart and our connection. I know she is in heaven and is in perfect joy now but just wanted to say, thanks for sharing this video it was a nice deep meaningful experience for me. I love you so much Pookie!

Geez this is heartbreaking, sorry for your loss, I had a similar experience it really is so tough
The exact moment you knew this game was SOMETHING DIFFERENT. I loved every second of this game. Cannot stand waiting for part 2.
Easily in my top 3 games of all time. RIP Ryan.
Even with Death Stranding 2 release, I bet no one can develop a game for the next 10 years that would be so breathtaking and meaningful as DS1.
Wait, is DS2 real?? Let me know pls!
@@denisplay8258 Yeah, they announced it in the Game Awards 2022
@@jrh7178 That’s really cool! I’m playing Death stranding now, i won’t mind to play death stranding 2 later
@@denisplay8258 Awesome man🔥
Such an amazing moment. Makes it even harder to watch now knowing the singer of Low Roar has passed... RIP Ryan Karazija. Thank you Kojima.
I rember when i was thinking that im not gonna love this game, but then 00:10, and im totally fall in love with this game. Thanks!
I've come to realize it's not just a game, it's therapy. These moments when the music kicks in and the camera pans out.. I forget about reality for a moment. Total immersion.
I had to carry a brother of mine in a funeral
This remind me of him ❤️ Kojima is a genius
i cant even describe the feeling when you at the end game and get the last mission here....the music and everything....its a feeling you cant describe too someone who havent played it...its not a game for everyone....but man it hits hard for the once it for
its just a masterpiece. i've been to iceland once and it really is my spirit country. everytime i see this landscape inspired by iceland, i feel like i am back there
This game needed more moments like this. Truly cinematic and impactful
Death Stranding is an incredible game, Hideo Kojima truly created a masterpiece, the sense of place in exploration is unmatched, I have never played a game quite like this. 😊
Gave up playing this the first time round then came back and became completely addicted honestly it’s a masterpiece can’t wait for number 2 .
I'm not even kidding, I assumed it to be an Amazon delivery game until I heard the first song in the soundtrack, and that's the end of it. Now, I've finished the game, and I was left speechless.
I agree. As soon as the music started playing I was like, "Yup. This is my favorite game now."
this has gotta capture this first of many moments in the game
this really is the moment i knew this game was gonna be one of my best yet
The calm and relaxation it brings are beyond words.
seriously!! my fav part too!!
low roar
❤
Death stranding seemed like it was too much hype to be good but after playing it it has become one of my favorite experiences in gaming. It truly is something different and beautiful
This part hit different first time around and possibly forever. Never finished it but got myself the director’s cut and I’m determined to do it, ready for DS2! 🙌🏻
Exact same here. I estimate I’m about half way done and for some reason got pulled away. I’m going to hop back into it this month. Excited for the next game.
this is the same moment i fell in love with this masterpiece. This is not a game, I repeat, not a game, just a game of emotions.
It was even better on PS5 with 60fps.
one of the best games i have played, because of this game I understood that I should never trust reviews bcuz I have slept on it for so long thinking its bad & I regret it
My only gripe is that the music only plays during certain missions, I wish we could play it anytime we want.
Believe me, that magic resides in the fact that music is always played in PERFECT moment!
The walk downhill to reach Port Knot City is a stellar moment, thanks to Asylum for the Feeling playing in the background... the song wouldn't have nearly the impact if it was played at any other moment.
When it start playing a felt in love with this game
I felt the solitude and felt I was the character. I haven't felt that in decades in a game.
I played through it twice. Sure it got some hate (it’s a walking sim etc) as everything does, but for me it was a truly stunning. Loved it.
My favorite music-meets-the-scenery moment was after that first brutal climb up and over the mountain where you first encounter the BTs. And then on the other side is that long walk down to the city/port below. I'd never felt such an emotional moment from playing a video game before.
One of the most beautiful experiences 🌦🌈👨🏻🦲
But the experience...
a LOT OF PEOPLE underestimates GOOD music in gaming.
0:20 This part is one of the most amazing parts (It touched my heart and i started crying)
I absolutely Love this game and the music. It turned me on to Low Roar, and I will always be grateful for that.
The best realistic movement in a game I've experience. I dunno about you guys but I was immerse when playing this gem.
More than just a game.
THIS. this is the reason I love death stranding so much.
"Keep on keeping on, Sammy boy (4:25 "from me in the past to me in the future)
Exactly the same happened to me aswell, the first time the song played and the graphics just blew me away, the songs really added to the Epicness of the game, although i do wish he had an audio player on him to listen to tracks whenever in the game. Cant wait for the sequal i really wish it came out sooner though :)
This Game was/is a Blast. One of the Best of all Time.
This one mission, even tho placed so early on, made so many people instantly love the game. This sequence was so well done 👌
Glad i played this on my birthday. It was something special.
I finished the game, it's just magnificent ! Lot of emotions, Tanks Kojimo
I just started this game. Absolutely brilliant. You wanna sit and take it all in. Beautifully well done so far.
I really love this game.
Walking simulator, hiking simulator or whatever tf you want to call it, booting this game up and play it after a 12-hour shift really put me at ease.
Masterpiece.
Cant wait for death stranding 2
i really wish kojima gave us a headphone so we can listen to the soundtrack while trekking.
+1
I already was quite hooked into game. then this moment happened.
RIP Ryan Karazija
At the same time as being cinematic, it's also a very zen-inspired game. And I love it for that.
My god this game is so beautiful...
But man what a ride this was
Some days when I feel like I need something therapeudic, I just go back to the beach. Arigato Kojima san ! n.n
Perfect relaxing, imagination, and story 🔥 It's game of the year for me a few years in a row!
That is the exact moment the game clicked for me....such amazing beginning and song.
Yeah.. same moment for me, I was shocked and amazed by this scene.
the best game that I ever played
Didnt realize I would come back to this game and be as into it again as I am. Even moreso than the first time I played it. Lol
This song and the very first one after the cave in prologue carried the game's initial atmospheres impression. They fitted so well for this game's theme so beautifully adapted
Masterpiece In Every Way
Freaking loved this game so much I want to replay it again when I come back home from work
I fell in love with this game during the intro of the game. The way the environment was presented with that beautiful song made me feel happy and comfortable. Luckily I got this game in 2019 when Epic launched this for free(Director's Cut) but it was this year that I was able to play this game.
I still cant put into words why i love Death Stranding, my friend got it on humble bundle and they asked me what it was like and i had zero clue what to tell them
I just downloaded it the other day and it was a slow take up but now I’m hooked. Game is a blast.
Comparto mucho tu opinion
never seen a semi tutorial start enjoyable like this. I love the game because of this too...
One of the best soundtracks in a video game
I had doubts on Kojima without Metalgear franchise. I was very wrong. This game is a masterpiece.
The Moment i knew i loved Death Stranding was from the Intro till the end :)
