Manually cutting stencils is a great option! I still cut some that way but when they get larger or more intricate, I use this method. Kind of feels like cheating ;)
Kit , this was fabulous! I thoroughly enjoyed it. You’ve peaked my interest for sure. I’ll be watching your other videos. Thank you for sharing your new passion
I’d be willing to say that this how to video for using the Cricut (sp?) system is way better than anything they already have out there. You are easy to admire, my dear :)
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in a logical, conversational, and low-pressure form. I've been hand-cutting my stencils and it's frustrating. I appreciate the walk-through with the computer software. I had wondered how to do all that. I've bookmarked your video for future and look forward to your further content! Stay awesome!
This was such an approachable, clear and interesting tutorial on both Photoshop and the Cricut for stencil making. I didn't even know you could get any Photoshop programs without membership, so thank you for that information as well. Great video!
This is exactly what I needed. I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy a Cricut or send my designs to my granddaughter to let her do the printing. I'm still undecided. I'm not proficient with PS either, but your clear directions and my beginner PS knowledge may help me prepare my design for print or cut. You must have spent many years teaching because you know what you're doing and make the directions very clear. Thanks, Kit, for your generosity with technique and design instructions. You're my favorite online teacher.
Hi Kit, Thank you so much for generously sharing your process and taking the time to make such detailed videos. I've found them all very inspiring and they have helped spark my creativity again.
I find this whole process amazing. I’ve never seen it done before and your detail is inspiring. It makes me want to buy a cricket and a computer program and possibly move into a whole new realm of possibilities. Thank you thank you thank you.
Excellent video, I have elements also and do similar things, but this gave me a lot of inspiration. I have silhouette studio instead of cricut. Thanks so much for sharing your process and look forward to more videos
I have a Cricut Maker. I love that once I have done the computer work, I can recut the stencil at any time. I can easily change it's size if that is of use. Simple stencils - circles, rectangles, etc. are really simple to make with the Cricut Design Space.
This is a good video, but not everybody has the money to buy an expensive stencil cutter or suscribe Photoshop. But there is another way to produce unique stencils: Paint or copy images directly onto the plastic sheet and cut the image out with a cutter or scissors. It takes even less time than the procedure with Photoshop and printer. Have fun! ❤ PS: If you want to sell stencils though Photoshop might be the better choice. 😉
Absolutely manually cutting stencils is a good option! I went this route because my hands are pretty arthritic and I wanted to create some intricate stencils.
I also cut my own stencils from my prints, but manually with a craft knife. It's a therapeutic process for me, and it's something unique.
