I find the A model to be so much more satisfying to fly than the bombcat...I guess it's just because I enjoy managing the A's limitations over the B.
...great flying by the way. Soooo much fun flying with a human crew member!

@reyco Currently preparing for the f4e, but the more i do, the more i start to appreciate the Tomcat. Though ill prob play it in that order,
what limitations do you enjoy between the A and B?
@@broworm1 The main one is the less powerful engines. Along with that, they are also more prone to compressor stalls.
The kick ass side of that is on the A you can do burners on take off, as per the book. (IRL the B and D models were only allowed mil pwr at takeoff, due to the sheer power of the updated engines. if one failed while the other was in burner at low airspeed, the plane would lose control.)
Limitations aside, I also find the older motor's burners and nozzles look way cooler...especially since I grew up watching Top Gun all the time!

Like sovereign, I also prefer RIO… something very rewarding working with a buddy to make the aircraft as dangerous to the enemy as possible.

Man what a machine for the era, now I really can't wait for the F-4E. It'll make RIO even more of a challenge, and i'm wondering if the MiG-21bis jamming pod will finally see some use... ;)
