As such the K9 Thunders delivered to the Norwegian Army are (or were, at the time) the only K9's equipped with a dedicated direct-fire aiming module/FCS
Same for Polish K9PL, direct fire was a requirement during conversion. That was after Norwegian ones, though. But before Poles used to use AHS Krab (K9 chassis, British turret, Polish fire control system) and that one also had direct fire (they all went to Ukraine, though). Central European plains and all.
They have a heavy emphasis on multipurpose usage and diversity. They planned much like Finland did on irregular defense, a good idea for such a small population. The American way of thinking is "Why add cost to an excellent artillery? You do not want to ever have to use it as an assault gun." The way of smaller, smarter nations is "we only get a few of these and that's it, and it's 90% of the way to being a good assault gun too. Why not both?" This is the same idea that lead Sweden to the now very well known Grippen! If 90% of your weapon is suitable as an assault gun

About the proxy rounds at 6:20, ive noticed that in this update it randomly gives you more shells when you deploy into battle. I had the same issue and it gave me a good 20 extra hesh shells for no reason

Attempt #21: KV-2 (ZiS-6). The gun one shots more or less whatever it pens, and can UFP a Panther. The armor is hit or miss, with it sometimes dying to a 75 Sherman, and sometimes bouncing a long 88. Mobility isn’t the best but can get you places decently fast. At least, as fast as a KV can go.
Earlier today I shot one of these things 4 times on different spots, with my centurion. first time facing one. One shot took out the turret crew, but then the next three bounced and he one shot me with his LRF.
Its either the highest br you can get 1 kill in or the biggest downtier ever. Swedish vehicle logic 1.0-6.0 is insane firepower for the br but aluminum foil as armor

Would it be possible for you to comment on the RP changes that they have introduced in the most recent patch? The stat-card changes have also introduced heavy RP gain nerfs, from my average 10k per game with premium to less than half that for the exact same score, time and activity. It seems counter-intuitive for what the whole tech-tree shortening was supposed to do. The grind is even worse than what it was before the changes to the tech trees.
Watching you suffer, even momentarily, in the VIDAR was cathartic. I had a dude on the enemy team get two separate nukes in back to back games at 8.7/8.3. I was 8.0 Brits, and had to watch as my team - and myself - were eaten alive.
It's been a short time since the update dropped, and In a single 3 hour grind session, I killed 20 Vidars and only got killed by one once, and it was a trade. The T10A slaps Vidars as they struggle to kill you lmao. This one guy respawned in backup VIDARs 3 times, each time being yeeted by me, before he spawned in his last tank, that one Swedish 1.2 second reload 120mm at 3.7. This was the guy I traded with, so I was in a Shilka now, and I gunned him down. Also killed a premium SK60 in that same battle. It was hilarious making VIDAR players suffer, seeing as many of them don't even have a 7.7 lineup and relied on backups or just left after 1 death.
@_solaris_4057 Practically the same vehicle, lol. T10A is slightly better since it is at 7.7, but it doesn't get APDS, Heat, or a 2 plane stabilizer. However, its gyro stabilizer is still really good.

A laser rangefinder is incredibly good on a howitzer because you can dial in your shots without getting out or relying on observers for firing solutions.
Was playing my IS-6 to grind out the IS-2 and like 3 VIDARS went absolute ape shit on the enemy team(Germany and USA). It was wrecking the team so comically fast I actually was surprised it only had HE and not something like APFSDS like the railgun that the USSR has.
20minutes of putting 400pen HEAT through the front of WW2 heavies, since an overperforming HE with proxies on a vehicle from the 70's plus at 6.0 isn't enough.
8:08 I don't think it's the LRF, but I could be wrong. I noticed in test drive that the higher pen/velocity round has waaay worse grouping than the slightly lower pen/lower velocity M107[?] round. Maybe that was Gaijin's attempt at "balancing" the ease of sniping

A lot of the players in the game don't know what balance is even if you explain it to them. Like how when you shoot a weak point on a Russian tank and the game just absorbs your shell. Blatant bias is just a skill issue. Or like the person I basically spent two days trying to explain the obj 279 being overpowered. His main argument being its a skill issue when the only few things that can kill it are heat, atgms, and pixel sniping it with any other shells. Along with saying is a skill issue that you can't kill it with any bombs. There's also CAS players who in ground say it is a skill issue when you, playing a tank, can't kill a plane. Yea. War Thunder players don't know any sort of balance

@@mote_vengador2832 The problem itself with Russian Bias doesn't lie purely in the tanks/aircraft. It's the mechanics around them. Like how Russian planes, even if they're made of wood, can just sneeze the fire out. Russian tanks will just randomly eat shells. The drivers hatch on the t-34 being stronger than anything in the game at random. Vehicles being put at blatantly lower tiers than they should be fighting because Russia shouldn't be allowed to lose in their eyes. I would also like to point out that I am someone who played the Russian tree for a good while. I've started to branch out, but the point still stands.
You can often just use proxy in place of normal HE and get direct hits with it, the damage should be similar. Especially when you have a quick laser rangefinder and so won’t aim short. But this only works at medium range, within a hundred metres or so the fuse won’t be armed so it’s useless for cqc.
One of the few tanks that actually deserves an uptier I find it hilarious that you're facing WWII tanks in this monster. It's like John Cena vs. multiple toddlers

It would be nice if we can click a spot on the map (similar to how we ping), and the gun elevates and turns towards it and you shoot like real life artillery. Well sure it would promote camping but it only applies to artillery vehicles. Basically giving another reason for LT to spot vehicles

There's a bug right now explained by OddBawz or JustinPlays that if you adjust your ammo count right now it instantly fills them

When shooting at KVs the pens feel hit and miss as well, more than most imo.

Would it be possible for you to comment on the RP changes that they have introduced in the most recent patch? The stat-card changes have also introduced heavy RP gain nerfs, from my average 10k per game with premium to less than half that for the exact same score, time and activity. It seems counter-intuitive for what the whole tech-tree shortening was supposed to do. The grind is even worse than what it was before the changes to the tech trees.
Watching you suffer, even momentarily, in the VIDAR was cathartic. I had a dude on the enemy team get two separate nukes in back to back games at 8.7/8.3. I was 8.0 Brits, and had to watch as my team - and myself - were eaten alive.

That Scorpion at 4:30 got a full uptier and then smiten by a howitzer with thermals and a rangefinder when he tried to peak a little.
It's been a short time since the update dropped, and In a single 3 hour grind session, I killed 20 Vidars and only got killed by one once, and it was a trade. The T10A slaps Vidars as they struggle to kill you lmao. This one guy respawned in backup VIDARs 3 times, each time being yeeted by me, before he spawned in his last tank, that one Swedish 1.2 second reload 120mm at 3.7. This was the guy I traded with, so I was in a Shilka now, and I gunned him down. Also killed a premium SK60 in that same battle. It was hilarious making VIDAR players suffer, seeing as many of them don't even have a 7.7 lineup and relied on backups or just left after 1 death.
T10M is practically immune too, I've killed so many of them at long range completely randomly it's insane.
@_solaris_4057 Practically the same vehicle, lol. T10A is slightly better since it is at 7.7, but it doesn't get APDS, Heat, or a 2 plane stabilizer. However, its gyro stabilizer is still really good.

9:13 the Is4-m has a 30mm plate on top of the turret. Even the 75mm on the maus can overpressure the crew sometimes there.

A laser rangefinder is incredibly good on a howitzer because you can dial in your shots without getting out or relying on observers for firing solutions.

Was playing my IS-6 to grind out the IS-2 and like 3 VIDARS went absolute ape shit on the enemy team(Germany and USA). It was wrecking the team so comically fast I actually was surprised it only had HE and not something like APFSDS like the railgun that the USSR has.

A lot of the players in the game don't know what balance is even if you explain it to them. Like how when you shoot a weak point on a Russian tank and the game just absorbs your shell. Blatant bias is just a skill issue. Or like the person I basically spent two days trying to explain the obj 279 being overpowered. His main argument being its a skill issue when the only few things that can kill it are heat, atgms, and pixel sniping it with any other shells. Along with saying is a skill issue that you can't kill it with any bombs.
There's also CAS players who in ground say it is a skill issue when you, playing a tank, can't kill a plane.

@@mote_vengador2832 The problem itself with Russian Bias doesn't lie purely in the tanks/aircraft. It's the mechanics around them. Like how Russian planes, even if they're made of wood, can just sneeze the fire out.
Russian tanks will just randomly eat shells. The drivers hatch on the t-34 being stronger than anything in the game at random.
Vehicles being put at blatantly lower tiers than they should be fighting because Russia shouldn't be allowed to lose in their eyes.
I would also like to point out that I am someone who played the Russian tree for a good while. I've started to branch out, but the point still stands.
That opening combined with Halo Reach's music is spot on at displaying the current problem with this vehicle.

You can often just use proxy in place of normal HE and get direct hits with it, the damage should be similar. Especially when you have a quick laser rangefinder and so won’t aim short. But this only works at medium range, within a hundred metres or so the fuse won’t be armed so it’s useless for cqc.

Yeah at 8:36 there's a bug where your ammo load out doesn't match with your pre picked ammo that you put in before entering and i think gaijin already fix this issue (assuming this was before the fix)

Love to see that after multiple updates, and I mean multiple, the explosion of gas tanks and fuel containers on maps still gives tinnitus free of charge.
That plane went up, stalled, and disintegrated in a matter of 10 seconds after getting hit by the proxy shell.
It would be nice if we can click a spot on the map (similar to how we ping), and the gun elevates and turns towards it and you shoot like real life artillery. Well sure it would promote camping but it only applies to artillery vehicles. Basically giving another reason for LT to spot vehicles
