I don’t want to burden you with a long-winded life story, so instead I’ll just say thank you Insym for being here. I think a lot of people find a lot of comfort in your streams and videos, more than one might think. Thanks again for all of your content that you put out
@@UnplsntPanda because we have actual working police here that doesnt need a reason to ask for ur ID, license and car insurance :D thats why it works in europe :D
In Brazil there's an worker who do the job of filling your tank, you don't need to leave inside the car, the payment is done after fill the tank, the payment is made with little credit machines which you can do debit , credit or PIX (it's the brazilian paypal, but more faster and quality, no fees apply) - the whole game is a completely riot! Loved it!! Also the music? 90s rave dance, super!
In the US, you typically pay first then pump. If you pay with cash, you would tell the cashier something like, "$20 on pump No. 3." If you pay with card, you can pay and pump all at the pump without having to go see the cashier.
OOOH I recommended "Bite Night" (recently) in the submit form! It's a fun, silly indie horror game! It was a stress-free time for you during a busy month, I'm glad you had fun !! - and I love this game's message - the power of friendship, hehe
The timed work was also a problem for me, i was used to finish my work early to have a small cigarette break, on the next job if I finished early there was suddenly 25 more tasks, so I ended up slowing down myself
In America, gas stations used to work like that. I actually had a gas station near my house that operated on the “pump first, then pay” trust system. But, for the same exact reason you found out, they’ve stopped doing that
I feel the game, it reminds me of my work when I was a temp in a shop. The first customer I had on the late shift wanted to buy an axe to solve a vermin problem as he called it, you could tell he had taken something and it turned out he wanted to buy the axe to pay a visit to a guy he was having stress with to make short work of him as he said.
For pumping gas where I'm at in the US, it is normal for us to pump our own gas, then go pay. Recently, there has been a huge increase in theft issues that has caused certain companies to change the policy, where now we will have to pay at the pump, or go inside and buy the gas first and then they authorize the pump we're at.

I'd really love to see you play the Fatal Frame series and see how well you do within those games. I'll admit the series isnt for everyone but I think you'll like it due to the style of game and how it plays out in the story
When Insym started talking about his time working at a supermarket, it suddenly reminded me when I too was working at a stall where they sell CD's, and musical instrument parts. Not much customers were coming in and I was bored so what I did was arrange all of the CD's alphabetically and dusted and wiped all of the guitars which were hanging outside. So when I was done and I was sitting down after standing all the time. My boss came in and suddenly started berating me in a loud way that I'm not doing anything. It was humiliating cuz people were looking at us and all she did was go to the other stall and just gossip with other women. After she left, I broke down crying and quit working there for just 4 days.
3:20 But you _do_ pay before you get your groceries. You don't get to eat everything in the store before you pay for it, or take it home and then go back and pay. If you don't give the store the money, you don't get to take the groceries. If you don't give the station the money, you don't get to take the gas.
iirc technically in poland you can eat the groceries, but you still need to pay for the packaging at cash register. Like drink a Coke then pay. They'll still be looking at you like thief, but you can xD
Insym here in the US it usually depends on the person and how well they know you. If they know you well enough they will let you tank up first before paying as they trust you won't just drive off, yes unfortunately people ruined it for others so for a lot of people they have to pay first before filling up unless again they are trusted by the cashier
Oh yeah in Poland you do the same thing, tank first then pay, no other obligations, they got cameras on site so if you tank up and just leave they'll find you... And only if you tank up above 200PLN. now THIS is the rediculous part. In Poland if you steal for less than 200PLN that's not a crime it's merely an offense. Cops nor procecution got no obligation to pursue that unless the shopkeeps catch and civilian-arrest the offender. All you really gotta do is drive in without plates or fake plates and have your face covered and you're gold.
I live in NJ and pumping your own gas is illegal here. An attendant has to do it for you. But I'm pretty sure we're the only place in the entire world with that rule. 🤣 Don't quote me, but I think it has something to do with labor rights. Here, "gas station attendant" is a job. If we started pumping our own, all of those jobs would be eliminated.
Yeah, we have to pay before we pump gas. Probably like 6 years ago my mom and I got close to the gas station attendants at a certain gas station and they'd all start the pump for us before we paid if we were paying with cash. 😊
I'll be part of early ish crew for a while for you @insym Since my accident I'll be bedridden for most the days. I've now got 2 plates and 10 screws holding my knee together
2:40 In Germany its the same. In Germany you always tank first, then you tell the Number like you said, then you pay. And then you waste 50€ on snacks on the way
When I was in high school I would pump my gas then go into the store and pay but too many people would fill their car and take off especially after the 09 market crash.
I have worked on 3 different gas stations in czech republic and I would very much like if they normalized "pay first" because the amount of people who fill to full and just speed of is quite large. Some are employers are insured, but some are not (that's not good). Imagine having 16 pumps and filled shop. If customer who filled fuel and didnt say so just bought a water bottle and then sped off... It's on your purse. If he didnt walk in, firm would pay. But just imagine the intake of customers on very busy strees with just two employees. Not good for your income.
I used to work at IKEA, not even on the shop floor, and I knew where about 80% of the products were, so it's not so bad when people ask for directions to some particular thing. My issue was just how bad the average person is at describing what they want...if you can't even tell me if it's a kitchen sponge or a couch, how am I supposed to tell you where it is? I don't mean the Swedish names, either, people literally would not use the word 'chair' to describe a dining chair. My favourite is a person asked me where the 'purple and green squares' are. That's it. And they got mad at me when I asked for clarification.
The only time I paid after getting gas is when I used a business account created with the gas station. They’d see me pull up and turn on the pump, I’d fill up then go in and sign the receipt and at the end of every month it all gets paid
Some places they pump gas for you, some places you do it yourself without informing anyone (You just pay), and some places you do it yourself but you have to inform someone which pump. I prefer the places where I can just pull up, insert my card and keep it pushing, I don't need to talk to anyone and I don't want to get out and say "$20 on Pump 1", I can just add $19.89" and call it a day. Here in New York I don't see many Gas stations where people help you pump, in the 5 boroughs at least, maybe upstate New York they do that. Also, I have never seen a "Tank first pay after". People would be stealing gas all day long here. In all situations, you have to pay first. 1 of my best friends worked at a Gas station as a teen. They cleaned the area, answered questioned, small stuff. Was in Queens New York many years ago.
My brother stole gas from a station once when I was with him and his shady ass friends. I think it was 04, maybe? But, all I remember is stepping out of the car to look at something, then when I got back to the car he PEELED out of there. I was confused, until I looked back and saw the cashier chasing after us yelling. We pulled over to the side of the road and he took the plates off and put on new ones. I didn’t question anything and just went with it. I think I was 12 at the time. He’s pretty the same way now as he was then. He actually just got out of prison lol
lol my friend used checks to buy gas all the time and they would bounce and they just stopped letting her do it because they knew her lol though we lost our apartment after her checks bounced 6 months in a row lol and no one told me because it was her privacy and she never had to pay it back lol!
