Tight, the way you display your page. I can see your passion its abundant! This is Exceptional. I like your ideas you put us in new perspective. Will check out again. Keep posting, will come back for more goods.
Thanks from Saskatchewan, Canada for sharing your knowledge - do you use clay with grog for hand building? Just starting to get interested in pottery as a retirement hobby.
It took about 6 -7 hours if I remember rightly. I tend to build a few inches and then leave it to firm up, and then go back to it the next day for another couple of hours. If you add too much clay at one time it can get a bit wonky with the weight. Hope that helps. I'm making another video about making smooth coil pots which I will publish in the next day or so. Which you might find helpful too. All the best :)
@@ThePotteryWheel thanks! That's helpful. Do you think you could do a video on how to glaze the insides of vases to make them watertight especially if you can't reach your hand in?
Hi Faydiva, it's not something I've tried, though I don't see why not. As long as the coils are firmly bonded together it should be fine. Let me know how it goes

I’m so glad to see quite a few videos on handbuilding! Ten years ago , when I started, there were very few (that I could find, anyway!)😊

You're welcome. I use stoneware with a fine grog :)
This is absolutely beautiful, which Glazing colour did you use? This is so pretty
Potter's choice glazes, (Iron Lustre and Oatmeal)
Thanks for this helpful video! How long did it take you to build the pot?

@@Annietheapple Hi Angelina, yes, definitely, that's a good idea. I'll do that.
@@ThePotteryWheel thanks! 😊
How much clay (in weight) do you think you used for the pot prior to adding the neck?
Hi Sarah. I can't remember exactly how much the clay weighed. Maybe 1.5kg, but I can't be sure of that
Can you use a wheel to trim a hand coiled piece?
Hi Faydiva, it's not something I've tried, though I don't see why not. As long as the coils are firmly bonded together it should be fine. Let me know how it goes
Was it meant to look obscene?
Ha, that's funny. Actually, I didn't realize it looked suggestive until I'd glazed it! The unconscious works in mysterious ways... :)
@@ThePotteryWheel I thought it looked beautiful!
Leave it to a male
What clay did you used?
Hi Jinna, I will put a link to it in the video description above. Hope that helps.
Love it! I have no wheel, but have a Susan that's lazy
That's all i have to say about that.🏳️🌈
❤🎉
I thought you were going to show how to smooth it. Instead you just mentioned you were going to scrape it later.
