I think "a lot of people" accounts for singularity because it is the lot the verb will stress on, not the people which the lot encompasses without itself.

@@E2IELTS The best tip I believe is to separate the ideas in the paragraph. Try to remain to the point for a particular paragraph. Understanding what each para is for helps in organizing ideas. This is something I was lacking in my previous test.
I have one 1 question . You said for countable noun use plural verb . But "decision " is countable noun and why use "affect" as singular verb . Please clarify .
- A singular subject "needs" a singular verb (needs is a plural) - Plural subjects "need" plural verbs (need is a singular?) - Children(plural) "need" to be active (need is a singular) - Many countries(plural) in the world "suffer" from famine (suffer is a singular / suffers is plural) I don't understand why they are being used in the opposite way. Isn't 'need' is singular, and 'needs' is plural ... and suffer is singular and suffers is plural Can someone explain to me plz?
Ohh... It's just a phrase! (I'm familiar with +s and no 's' from my school days) Today I learn something new! Singular = verb + s Plural = verb 1 (no s)

Well organized and nicely cleaned home and work places, create a lot of positive results. Not only does it help to improve optimism and happiness, it also allows work to be done at a faster rate, thus saving time and increasing productivity.
Thank you very much for this useful video! Could you please tell again why in sentence 5 : "All the recent research suggestS"? Is this because research is considered to be like IT?
I feel that the error in the prisoner sentence should've been the use of "they" in place of a singular prisoner. Instead it should've been "one/he/she" rather than correcting the verb.
That’s definitely an option. 👍 It is common, however, to use ‘they’ to represent ‘he/she’. It can become awkward to always write ‘he/she’ when the gender is unknown. Good spotting though! 🌟
Do alot of reading, perhaps get more IELTS readings, pen down some of awkward words I mean vocabularies, then afterwards go to your dictionary. With time u would get better.

Needs and plays are verbs. It's like this for nouns adding s' is plural but for verbs adding 's' is singular that is the rules
For verbs s makes it singular for nouns it makes it plural. Needs and plays are verbs.
