    Maschine took the MPC concept to the next level. If they had never come out with this, we would be using some rehashed MPC2000 style boxes instead of the Akai MPCX, MPC One. Competition really drives innovation!

    Faxxxxxx!!! Copping a Maschine was a game changer! Especially when 1.5 dropped and you could load your vsts into. When 2.0 dropped, another game changer. Had my mk1 for about 10yrs until it was no longer compatible with my new MacBook. The enrichment continues with MK3 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿 great to notice that you didn’t say one bad word about the maschine! Hearing that from an expert! I’m super proud to be an owner of a game hanging product

    I went from ASR-10 to MPC with a Triton, to Yamaha Motif 7 ES, to Maschine Studio with a Komplete Control.
    This is easily the greatest production setup I've ever had. If you got a powerful computer, you go a powerful setup. It's so flexible. Workflow makes so much sense and all my NI hardware works seamlessly with the NI software.

  • @reoscorpio

    i made my first beats using a Casio Synth & a Roland MSQ 100 (way back), went to the MPC 2000 XL, then the MPC 2500... that workflow with first the Zip Drive, and then the little disk with no memory capacity almost made me call it a wrap.. i got tired of GEAR always needing to be upgraded (killing the wallet) & started effin' with Fruity around version 7... it was murder on your computer's CPU, and back then before it became FL and the workflow got upgraded... it slowed me down too.. i did Fruity until around version 11, when i started hearing about Native Instruments.. did my due dill... & bought somebodies Mikro (off Craigslist - still got it in the closet) .. .& it blew my mind. It has everything, Sampling, Mixing.. Effects.. Expansion Packs with the DOPEST SOUND capability, Sounds that come already layered.. SOUNDS THAT BOUNCE.. NI's Sounds KILL AKAI's Crap, & Maschine allows you to incorporate 3-party EVERTHING effortlessly, which is a headache on the the MPC Live (i had a "Live" too, for a minute, get to that in a moment).. On Maschine, for the first time.. i was able to lay down vocals on my songs with no problem. One of my main problems with FL was that it was cool for making beats, but trying to freak vocals with it (back when i was using it) was a no can do... With Maschine its so easy to do anything you want.. & then they also have that app that i would bang out beats sitting on the toilet, and then upload it to my laptop and import it into its bigger cousin.. i would do tracks forever with no worry of how long i wanted to do thangs. Save sh!t on my computer.. & keep going.. HAH. Never looked back.. Last year i got curious about the MPC Live because it was supposed to be the Stand Alone King (ITS A LIE).. Sold it.. Apologized to my Maschine Mk3.. We reconciled... Hugged it out.. & i'm a lifer. It has issues.. NI keeps changing thangs that you love & you have to adapt.. but that's with everything. Now the workflow in Maschine is even mo' better, regarding how you can create your songs, and arrange them effortlessly.. Maschine is what I was born to use..

    I really enjoyed this series especially this episode (I had to watch it 3 times for nostalgia purposes) LOL. My MK1 was my very first piece of add-on gear I've purchased when it first was released. I believe even though Akai rebounded back with the Live, touch, X, and force, Native instruments is still on top because the number of expansion packs and sound libraries are ridiculous in numbers. I also believe that NI caters to more genres of music than Akai and with the emergence of Maschine+, Akai has some real competition. And let us not forget about Komplete 13's integration which is insane, including 10s of thousands of samples, synths, and plugins.

    Rocky start. I bought Maschine 1.0. Slow, laggy (and buggy) software. BUT oh my god the SPEED of chopping samples (and STILL!!) But, it got really good by 1.8 (almost 4 years later). Once I got used to 1.8, the new controllers came out and they totally changed everything (routing mostly) with the 2.0 update. Annoyed the crap out of me. But over the years... good stuff. Used to hate Akai, but came around with the MPC One. I can never part with any of my Maschine controllers (MK2, Studio, MK3, and JAM), and my MPC One. Good, good stuff. Great video, man!

    I learned to make beats without help on Maschine (Jam and Mikro) but I soon had to give up on it and go hardware as the Maschine software was taxing my CPU after I used a few tracks. I'm not going past 4 tracks and I'm closing Maschine as soon as I've bounced the audio over to my DAW. After that I would use other hardware or instruments from my DAW to continue. TBH I prefer using the old MPC models than I do using Maschine, and I have the Mikro mark II, Jam and S61 mark II with the full Komplete 11 and I hardly use it. It's a shame because I love the Jam. The first beat machine I got to learn how to make beats. i was going to originally get a MPC 1000. the rep at guitar center put me onto the maschine. i was with them for 12 years. now i’m MPC Gang. Maschine is overpriced for a “stand alone” machine, that you still have to plug in… so for me i needed something portable. That’s when i got the MPC live 2

    When I bought the Maschine, I quickly moved away from it back to the MPC. As some as the Ren came out I bought it. So that theory didn’t fly for me. The MPC still has the best and most pleasant workflow in my humble opinion. That’s what I f* around with. (No pun intended, or did I).

    I had the original Maschine on Pre-order. I was looking for something that made beat making and sequencing a simpler process. I had only owned the 2000XL at the time. I remember people hating on it before even trying it on the MPC forums ( they hate everything there anyway).I remember dudes roasting me for getting a Maschine. Well when the Maschine dropped it didn't just splash it made a tidal wave knocking the MPC's off the map for years. I found that to be funny but for me I was so adapted to the MPC workflow using the computer and a controller was foreign to me. I played with my MK1 for like a week then put it in the box for years before selling it. I just couldn't get into it personally. As much of a headache as the O.G. MPC's are they make you craft better music because they make you work for it. The Machine just gave too much. You didn't have to work for anything on that unit. It was all on easy mode. Even sampling was obsolete. No one thinks of a Maschine as a Sampler. They just think of it has a Midi controller which is all it is...but you get an MPC in your hands you got a sampling weapon that you know has made certified hits.

    like #666 {ironic} I got the Mk2 in 2014 introduce to me by K-Low from LIVE SQUAD {THX} Now! I thought this was dope, just getting into beat making with the newest gear at the time - I was excited. the only thing I wasn't a software guy - so I didn't get much work done. then I got imaschine2 app {ios} started banging on my phone - cool kept the energy, UNTIL..... Akai MPC X came. copped that I felt more comfortable making beats. But with the evolution of new gear constantly coming out {just between Maschine VS. Akai alone} CRAZY!! Now I'm thinking of getting the Maschine + for me standalone is best, anyway I just wanted to add my 2% - I REALLY LIKE THE EDUCATION YOU GIVE ON MUSIC GEAR YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK.... I would like to see a video the MPC X vs. Maschine +

    Mane!!! I never had mpc before, but I got introduced to maschine like 10 years ago. When I got used to it, I became another type of beast. I know how the mpc works and maschine has a nice work flow too. And yes if you know what you’re doing, you don’t have to stop. Give me 16 to 20 minutes and I got an entire beat going in song mode break downs and all. Maschine is real deal type and the sounds, my goodness. Really great shit. I use FL studio too and the pcm type sounds on fl isn’t that good. So at times I’ll use maschine sounds, bring it into slicex and make magic magic. I need to learn to sample on maschine. I like fl studio tho so that’s where I sample at

    So yo based on the veracity of your other videos I can’t help but find this v compelling even though I’d decided in the past that Maschine wasn’t likely for me. Iirc there were two things about it 1) I had to use the computer for brains but I couldn’t use AU or VST3 plugins in its otherwise mostly-complete DAW software? I get that it’s not supposed to be the entire DAW recording platform, its equivalent to an MPC/MV/MC-x0x all of which you’d use inside something else 2) I got the sense that Maschine was good for ppl who didn’t wanna create their own sounds in synthesis, their creative sound design would be mostly from sampling and programming - I do my own drum programming, too, and I sample to build my own drum kits, but I seldom use a preset synth or keyboard sound (unless its like an acoustic piano or EP I can’t improve). I get that NI has an impressive catalog of really high-quality playable sounds but not only can I not afford any/all of that, I prefer to make my own using hardware synths which the MPC is happy to drive over MIDI ( and now CV, not that I’ve got into it yet). Idk, Maschine still sound superior than, say, a Live II for a cat like me? The 16 extra knobs w LCDs on the MPC X is extremely tempting but they’ve gotta do something about the lack of CV, like an external box that adds the functionality, as not only would the X’s add’l Q link controls be so perfect for the CV/gate 8 outs, I’d just get so mad knowing I paid so much more for an MPC that lacks that (and the internal battery & speakers of the Live II … they’ve REALLY gotta update the X, don’t they?)

    • @DyReckProductions
      @DyReckProductions  2 года назад

      Machine is nice..Real easy to learn folks love it..But if you really need CV in your workflow and you dont want to add multiple peices of gear than the MPC might be better for you. If you dont mind using Machine plus another peice of gear to help with the CV then you might be able to make it work.
