Doesn't a twin-scroll single turbo reduce lag heaps? and then you haven't got the extra plumbing and heat and complexity of a twin-turbo set up. Why BMW went from the twin turbos N54 engine to the single turbo but twin-scroll in the N55 and B58. My M135i with a N55 has no perceivable lag at all, and has torque from just 1500rpms. Made even better with a non-cat down pipe and no secondary cat along the exhaust. I literally have no lag. Also people put way to bigger intercoolers on for their turbo/power size, and that creates lag. If you've driven a tuned N55 or B58, you will know what I mean, there is no lag at all. Just instant shove, like a supercharger.
Crackle/Flame "tunes" are also making dedicated car enthusiasts look bad. Just like Carolina Squat Trucks & Take over/Side Shows. I feel comfortable in saying these people mentioned above are not car enthusiasts, but they are Pop or attention enthusiasts. They don't even really care about the cars, but they are just an accessory to thier "lifestyle."
Unless pops and bangs come as an after affect from the best tune and from serious power, they're just lame and try-hard. A couple on the downshift is cool, but all the time for no reason is just boy-racer and unclassy as all hell. They're embarrassing to be in a car with over the top ones. Pops and bangs are like tattoos: A few well done ones are cool, but covering yourself with them just for the sake of having them is lame and attention seeking, and possibly making up for deficits in a man in other places. Like I notice shorter mma fighters always have heaps of generic tattoos, but the taller larger heavy weights, not so much. As they know they have nothing to prove and are scary and powerful enough without them. A couple, like a couple of burbles on the down shift and as the revs drop, or a bomp/fart sound on the upshift of a paddle shifter gearbox, are cool and add a bit of theatre, but all the time and loud as hell, is just stupid, and you will often see a skinny or short little man driving the car with a ridiculous pops and bang tune..
Aren't they also killing their spark plugs and coils earlier too, with too over the top pops & bangs?
Stress on exhaust components 😂 no one is worried about that, my guy. Exhaust valves would be the main concern.
