If you were to roleplay Optimus prime, may I recommend STARTING OUT roleplaying him like his G1 version first. Everyone’s favorite robot dad! Cracks jokes sometimes, likes learning new things (like basketball! Yes that’s canon) and “Strong enough to be gentle.” But, depending on how the campaign goes, drift into other versions of Prime. For instance, his more modern appearances. More hardened, less emotionally expressive and more action-hero like. But if the campaign gets REALLY dark, go for Bay-verse Prime. “I’ll kill them all…” “GIVE ME YOUR FACE!” Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
i feel the need to add that optimus prime(not primal) has had at least 3 beast modes throughout the franchise's history. the first being a robotic aligator in an episode of g1, the second was a bat in the very early stages of the beast era, and the third being a robotic t-rex in rescue bots
I built Soundwave in D&D, it was a Warforged Ranger with a Warforged Hawk. The idea was down the line also give him a dual-class adding Bard or Sorcerer to the mix, so he can do sound based attacks.
For me, I've never been a huge fan for druids when your trying to be a transformer. Especially for Optimus. He's one of the few characters that screams Paladin. He has a oath, he's very charismatic, and leads the charge into battle. Sword and shield. That's just me, subclass? That's where it gets tricky. Devotion is a pretty solid one, Ancients is also a good choice but I think the UA Oath of Heroism is absolutely perfect for him.
I was very skeptical how you'd manage the semi truck aspect but I'm very impressed with your solution! The non-combat function really sold me, brilliant stuff

You know if you wanna be really silly right now, you can actually think of this build as being Optimal Optimus from Beast Wars instead. because in Beast Wars, Optimus Primal had merged his spark with Optimus Prime to keep it alive which turned him into Optimal Optimus. or it could be both at once because of the special anniversary animation, which shows Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal fusing into Optimal Optimus. just a thought

Honestly seeing Megatron be done would be cool, sure you can cooy some things over but at the same time Megatron is so much more brutal and violent than almost all versions of Prime that I feel like although similar it would be a completely different play style, although I'm not sure if you can easily cross Megatron and Beast Wars Megatron like how you can with Prime and Primal, but it would be cool to see regardless if done.
I’m watching the clips in the background and I completely forgot how Optimus fights with main antagonist energy in the Tranaformers live action movies. Like if these weren’t mechanical life forms fighting the movies would have been a Mature rating for sure. For the record optimus prime/xyz convoy (depending on which continuity has optimus prime in japan) has always been a paladin with some druid specs. Optimus primal would be the druid druid set up.

I always wondered if it was possible to do a build for him, especially given his lack of magic. It'd be pretty cool to see Lucifer Morningstar from DC's Lucifer (namely the TV series), get a build. wait, this video made me realize you could possibly multiclass more than 1 level and still get an epic boon feat. the class wording is alittle weird because it specifically says epic boon at level 19 as a class feature. but then asi/feats say you can take any feat you qualify for. and epic boons only mention being level 19+, so if your multiclass will give you an ASI when your total level is 19 or 20 you can get an epic boon. mind blown
Ok I like some the theme build that been done for dnd. I think a good challenge is do obscure characters from video games, tv shows, and movies. Maybe John crithon from farscape or peter pernelli from heroes.
Depending on the version of Optimus Prime, Roller is a suitable Wild Companion. Granted, Michael Bay movies in the video, but other than that, the build also works for most depictions.
Honestly in my opinion I would probably have done more the Paladin route since he is technically a disciple of prime while also going into fighter for Battle Master Forest tactician other than that definitely agree with the rest
Genuinely wonder what you're gonna do for Megatron/Galvatron to be able to turn into a battle tank. Flight is easy enough, Artillerist gives you a big arm cannon, but how will you BE the battle tank? Better yet, how will you turn into a handgun for others to shoot?

I would recommend going monk instead of fighter. you lose on the tactically feature "I would chosen battle master not champion " . but monk would give you the SPeed that would stack with the beast so you go vroom vroom . bonus action attack that is something druids don get much use of bonus actions in their wildform "Crazy thats no spell in the moon spells is a bonus action cast like found of moon night and cure wounds both should been bonus actions" sigh. do not get me started on all the things I see they did wrong with druid. BUT Bonus action unarmed attack you can take even if you are a beast and flurry of blows with d points and if you are lucky and got weapon masteries chose dagger or something with nick . so 2 shillelagh club attacks + nick and bonus action attack in robot form is hella good. also if you can convince your DM to update magic stones to work the same with shillelagh you got a winner of a ranged attack. Allas Lovely build Optimus prime is my fav charcter :D and druids are my favorite class . (Even though they should used wisdom for beast attacks and SPell save DC for beast saves and increased the temp hp and not restrict the Spellcasting your main half of the class until level 18 ) GAAAASP .... I had to say what bothered me sorry. :D .

You cant be a warforged druid, class restrictions state that because a druid is a nature user only(unless it changed in the past couple years) meaning NO metal, and they cant be warforged because they are a constructs
