Trudeau downplayed his resignation to only being due to 'internal battles' within the Liberal Party in his speech. He didn't once take any accountability for his mistakes or apologize to Canadians for letting them down. As a Canadian who has been negatively impacted by his leadership, it was disappointing to see his lack of self-reflection.

Shame on Governor General Mary Simon on allowing the Liberal Party of Canada to prorogue government and halt democracy so a spiralling party can be allowed to regroup. Shame on Jagmeet Singh for not governing with integrity when he could’ve ended this mess a long time ago but instead put his personal financial well-being ahead of the country’s.

And with what is going on in the states, we also need a leader who will try to bring the parties together rather than polarize them... that is extremely important to keep our democracy healthy. The states has successfully dehumanized "the other" - both parties have. Both sides feel like their country will be destroyed if the other party gets in. Plus the country is armed to the teeth... The alt right being more responsible for fanning those flames with the kind of rhetoric trump communicates. ANYWAY... Thats exactly it. The tax break for this months was made knowing that he would resign a couple of months later. This sole stupidity that everybody is following will ad tremendously to the already gross deficit. That was another bile liberal move. And for what? The next administration will have a ridiculously hard time trying to clean the mess. How will this affect the already changed population of the country? I just hope "Canadians" dont hate the new guy and start asking for Trudeau back.
