+Donal Skehan oh and it is pronounced as Halapenyos it's spelt as jalapeños the j in Spanish sounds like a h and the swirl on the n sound like ny HALAPENYOS
love this! personally I always make my nachos with - melted cheddar cheese (in a pan) - ground beef - bell pepper (I'm not good with jalapenos) - swirls of sweet chili sauce - sour cream It has always been the best nacho recipe for me, ever since I ate it once at a restaurant.
This guy, is the most adorable chef ever! Can't believe he is a father (*secret sobs*). I fall for him every single time. And yeah, you are allowed to say "julapaponos" coz you sound so freaking cuteeee...... LOL!
Donal's California TO-DO LIST: 1) Learn how to say jalapenos 2) Go to an American game day (Football, Hockey, Baseball, etc) More will be added to this list :)
Donal, the way you pronounce jalapeño is hilarious! I adore your channel, the food that you make, and your personality. New fan here and I'm liking it all.
These are really good and a super addition to any meal. Black beans a little hard to get on a regular basis, so I think I will buy a bag of dried beans so I have them when I need them. Another great and simple recipe. Great recipe for kids to learn to cook.
It was hilarious the guacamole plate!! 😂😂 those are some gooood nachos Donal, if a mexican tells you so, you're a winner! Greetings from Mexico once again! 🇲🇽 😘 Btw, congrats for your 300k 😉 (been here since the beggining of the chanel)
I put a bit of hot pepper and a bit of tomato and garlic in guacamole. Diced canned tomatoes are good for salsa, but drain as much of the fluid out as you can. If I use fresh tomatoes I use Roma tomatoes, cut them in half, squeeze the seeds and runny parts out before chopping them up. Both guac and salsa a good right away, but they are better if you make them the day before and let them rest in the fridge.
You are so entertaining and hilarious! I'm from Texas and we do lots of Tex-mex food and tailgating:) Jalapeños is like "ha-la-peen-os" Please keep making videos!
Max is smart! Plus, he's helping save on cleanup. Win-Win! =) In New Mexico, it's "Hal-ah-pen-yo" because of the accent over the n. Also, instead of coriander in your guacamole, try cumin - like you would for taco seasoning, yum! Cilantro also goes a long, long way, use sparingly, IMO... too much and it starts tasting like soap.
+John D coriander and cilantro are the same, in the US it is cilantro, the rest of the World coriander. But I must agree with the cumin it is fantastic in guac!
Yuuum. Nachos = comfort food! Hilarious how Max was eating the cheese. You should try cooking with 2 little sausage dogs. They are basically kitchen vacuum cleaners. Ha!
Nacho Nacho Man 🎶 I guess you can be the sexy cook in the Village people.. 💪 Thank you Donal, now i have this song and picture stuck in my head for days!
Try mashing the avocados with a potato masher. the lumpy texture is better than whipped. I'm a native to these dishes so I could make lots of recommendations but I chose this one as the most important.
Well actually.. it doesnt matter if you are a native or not and nothing IS better.... I just prefer a smooth consistency... Its not that you are right because you are a native since preverence is never based on facts....
Looks so good. I like a chunky quac so I just usually mash it with a fork. Sometimes I also add some of the pico de gallo to the quac 😀 the bowl was only so big because you didn't make enough Grac 😃
I would eat your nachos!! I'm Mex. Am. from South TX. :) I've never done tailgating....but nachos are THE greatest snack or meal. I layer them in a cast iron skillet....usually use fresh pinto beans....but I love black bean & red kidney beans in nachos. I prefer chunky guacamole or just cut up avocado....lots of lime juice & cilantro!!!!! ¡Orale!!!
+Prisilla Cope my mexican friend taught me to make her version of guacamole and i adore it! my mom always blends it when she makes it.. ;-; chunky texture is far more appealing to me! looks tastier and IS tastier. but u know each to their own. ;D
Hi Donal.you will find me commenting on all your videos because I love all recipes and you have a nice personality. I just wish my fiance learns to cook as well. he only knows how to make instant noodles! cheers from Mauritius!
By the way, that's pico de gallo. Salsa is more liquidy and sometimes a cooked sauce. The onions need to be rinsed and let sit in the lime juice to "cook". Oh, being Californian is a little more complicated. ;)
Good idea if you put the salsa ingredients in with the guacamole 👍☺️☺️ #mouthwatering not gonna lie I did it by mistake and it turned out amazing highly recommend it ☺️
Here's an honest confession.... I have to do nothing with cooking, infact i don't even like it bt i don't know tht why d hell i still watch ur videos so ardently!!😅 you are quite entertaining and sassy too.....nd i find it really cool👍👌
i usually melt my cheese with some milk and the tiniest bit of paprika before putting it in the oven, and then i add some of that shredded cheese on top for extra deliciousness :) also, why would you ever put guacamole on a food processer? its always better when its chunky!
I will now forever call them "jall-eh-pop-en-os" even though I know how to correctly say them. same reason I say "spi-dash-ee-os" instead of pistachios. just way more fun!
+Keerthana I would say it is more reminiscent of pico de gallo instead of salsa. Salsa tends be roasted and then ground or blended together (but not always) while pico is raw. Regardless this looks delicious as you say!
These look incredible! That guacamole is making my mouth water!
Yep looks so delicious
+The Domestic Geek didn't last long I have to admit :)
+Donal Skehan I love this recipe
I an going to make this tommorow
+Donal Skehan oh and it is pronounced as Halapenyos it's spelt as jalapeños
the j in Spanish sounds like a h
and the swirl on the n sound like ny
HALAPENYOS
Yes, this young man lives in Los Angeles. Must learn to say halapenos
In SoCal we say "holla-pen-yo" haha! This recipe looks delicious!
Hahaha omg lmfao when he tried to say jalepeno 😂 he sounded like he got to the point he didnt care how its pronounced anymore 😂😂
love this!

No canned tomatoes for pico de gallo!
"Julapapanos" same. I'm definitely making this for a sleepover though!
Love the design work on the new outro! And of course the nachos look pretty damn good too! :)
My mouth is watering at the sight of this!
Love it. So quick too.

cilantro are the fresh leaves, and coriander are the seeds - but yeah, the plant is the same.
+John D Finally ! I thought i was the only one tasting dish soap when i eat a chineese soup full of cilantro! I'm all about cumin, great idea!
+Jessica De Galway you have a genetic mutation that makes Cilantro taste like soap :-) look it up, really specific gene and you are not alone.
+sutra46 Glad to ear that ahah !
when u sprinkled the jalapeño and onions my mouth was watering......lived the recipe
*loved the recipe
Just in the time for the weekend! Looks delicious:)
Was he trying to say "jalapeños"?😳😂😂 that's one of the cutest things I've ever heard!😂😱😍

Great looking. Get used to tailgating, Donal. Welcome to the States!! L.A. is huge for that kinda stuff.
Thank you, I needed a good quick dinner for tonight, headed to the store right now.
Looks so good. I like a chunky quac so I just usually mash it with a fork. Sometimes I also add some of the pico de gallo to the quac 😀 the bowl was only so big because you didn't make enough Grac 😃
Really nice Donal !
yay! vegitarian!

Ha, ha, ha......love how you say jalapeno ! These nachos look so delicious, nothing like a tasty guac......thanks for sharing Donal :)
By the way, that's pico de gallo. Salsa is more liquidy and sometimes a cooked sauce. The onions need to be rinsed and let sit in the lime juice to "cook". Oh, being Californian is a little more complicated. ;)
Never made nachos before but when seeing how easy it is... Definetly gonna give it a try next time we have friends over
Delicious! Those look so good
before there were food processors, there was mortar and pestle. try it on your avocado, think you will love it
Just use a fork! That food processor just killed that avocado. :(
Have you & Sophie been to Olvera Street yet? Right across from Union Station, down the street from Chinatown...and Felipe's French Dip Sandwiches!
Hi Donal,I love Nacho's! Any stray Cheese that falls on the floor belongs to what ever Dog happens to be closest,it's the law!:) Thanks.
Omg gorgeous stuff Donal I'm hungry !! 😁😁😁
I really like the "giant bowl"!
Good idea if you put the salsa ingredients in with the guacamole 👍☺️☺️ #mouthwatering not gonna lie I did it by mistake and it turned out amazing highly recommend it ☺️
that looks so tasty!!! i have to try it
Donal the Nacho Man Skehan. I like it.
Made these for a family oyster roast. They where gobbled up. Thanks
Donal!!! You are too cute saying Jalapeños!!! Say it the way you like it, we love you anyway!!!
That looks epic!
Julapapanos I'M DYING AHJAKAJHJGHJJAKA LMAO 😂

This is a hilarious recipe--do you still make guacamole that way now that you've lived in LA? ;)
That oven mitt has definitely seen better days!
That's gonna straight in my tummy:)
+Donal Skehan please, please, please, please do an Irish Breakfast recipe!
Here's an honest confession.... I have to do nothing with cooking, infact i don't even like it bt i don't know tht why d hell i still watch ur videos so ardently!!😅 you are quite entertaining and sassy too.....nd i find it really cool👍👌
Looks Yummy!
Sweet baby Cheeesus! haha I love that.
Alright! I love Nacho Cheese !!!
Omg did you say 'sweet baby cheesus' hahah
i usually melt my cheese with some milk and the tiniest bit of paprika before putting it in the oven, and then i add some of that shredded cheese on top for extra deliciousness :) also, why would you ever put guacamole on a food processer? its always better when its chunky!
This needs some roasted corn 😍😍 looks delicious!
well done Donal (Y) I love ur energy , u always makes my day ;)
"perfect for tailgating, perfect for American game days!" or perfect for sitting on the couch and eating it by myself :D
Mm mm MM Sweet Baby Cheezus , thatnis DAYUM GOOD! LOL!
Very nice! Untill the coriander!!
OMG,This is a must have for me i am in love with it :)
everytime i see your video,I'm falling in love with you Donal
You can see Max' reflection under the oven on the other side :D
Compadre! you could say it like halapenio, I think it would be pretty close to the actual Mexican pronunciation :) great recipe BTW!
Amazing!
I will now forever call them "jall-eh-pop-en-os" even though I know how to correctly say them. same reason I say "spi-dash-ee-os" instead of pistachios. just way more fun!
😍 you are the best i love Your recipes 😊
Could You Make a Video On How To Make Homemade Tortilla Chips? Great Video As Always Donal and Its Pronounced As Halapeño :)
Donal use your pestil and mortar instead of the processor when you make the guacamole
That looks delicious..and we'll tell you how to pronounce jalapeño peppers when you come to L.A :)
What it's the difference between green chillies and jalapenos?
good good like always ❤
lol julapopanos, going to use that now!! it is pronounced "halapenios"
Watching this makes me wonder how moving to the States will change your cooking.
I make my guacamole with mint rather than coriander and it is beautiful!
Some of my friends add Mexican oregano. It's really good as well! :)
Ohh, yum! I'll have to try that. :)
+Nubianette Let's face it, if you are a herb person, anything is delicious!
+Philippa Wood Thank you for an interesting alternative! I hate coriander and cringe every time I see it used (so a lot) :(
+Skylineblue you should form a club with people from the comments above for cilantro free or substitute recipes
The J in spanish is pronaunced as a scratching
H sound. So Its more like "Hralapenio"
Wow yummy nachos. I love all the ingredients. Its just missing chopped green olives, minced garlic and pepper. :)
+fivelightsonahill nice :)
this is by far my most favorite video on your channel or even youtube xD LOVE the recipe and the way you pronounced jalapeño-- it made my day :')
hall-uh-pain-yo because "jalapeño" is a spanish word. the j is pronounced like an h and the ñ makes it more like nyo rather than no :)
It is pronounced (Hal-ah-pean-yo)
You are so funny to watch!
i use garlicsalt
OMG I found your channel, haha! =)
Watching this at 3.18am is not really a good idea is it? oh well. I dont think I have ever appreciated a Nacho making video this much.
Jalapeño is pronounced halla peen yo.😀 those nachos look fantastic.
lol does that count as salsa? looks more like a a tomato salad xD
but yummmmmm that looks delicious!
+Keerthana I would say it is more reminiscent of pico de gallo instead of salsa. Salsa tends be roasted and then ground or blended together (but not always) while pico is raw. Regardless this looks delicious as you say!
OMG YOUR NAME
Definitely gonna call jalapenos julapapanos from now on :D
Nacho man haha
Hah-la-pen-yos. Salsa and Guacamole do not go over the top. They are served as a side dish for dipping.
These should be called 'Donal nachos' ;)
I need this. In my face. Now please. ^_^ Totally trying these sometime. :)
I'm gonna start saying jalapenos with a j because it's hilarious.
Let's have a nacho party!
The j in Spanish is pronounced as an h, so it would sound like halapeno (jalapeño ). But I like the way you say it. :)
Very good nice
Hal-A-Pin-Ee-Oh.
You can hear the actual pronunciation at
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/11/Jalape%C3%B1o.ogg
"but you can use any cheese that will melt" -don't all cheese melt?
no
no
halloumi cheese does not melt
No. Some just fall apart.
You're hilarious!
