I'm a piste-only skier who recently got into freestyle, looking for a Ski that would let me ski on groomers & be playful with it (switch/small jumps). Thinking the 1.0 is a reasonable choice?
Hey! Don't know if we'll have time for that this week so I'll just try to answer that for you now! Basically, if ALL you do is ski park and groomers, and you ALMOST NEVER plan to go off trail or off piste with the ski, go for the 1.0...however, if you want more versatility to handle off-piste conditions or float a bit better through smaller fresh snow accumulations, pick up the 2.0...if you are an experienced skier, you probably won't even feel the extra width of the 2.0, it has a very, very natural feel that won't take you long to get used to. Hopefully that helps! But if you still have any questions, please feel free to post them here or go to www.avantalpine.com or facebook.com/avantalpine and send us a message, we're happy to help you out!
Since i ski a 85mm Salomon threat 2015, and i ski everywhere on the mountain (trysil norway) i feel like the 1.0 Will be enough of a jump up and and overall better ski but kinda the same still, its either i go for warmups on the mountain THEN hit the park or warmup THEN just ski and do tricks on normal pistes, and Also length is a question for me
I ski a 171cm Salomon threat 2015, but im 190cm when i try to be as tall is a can, but in most cases i dont do that ( i got a bad posture) so im 180cm when in (normal) should i keep around 170 or should i go for a 176/178?
I would say just go ahead and go for that next size up if you feel comfortable on the Salomons in that length already. You'll get increased stability at speed from a longer ski, and with twin tips you likely won't notice a decrease in agility.
Is the 2017 model still a good buy today (granted they haven't been used)? For an intermediate groomers-only skier.
