It sounds like those phone calls that says. Please hold.
"Please hold the line." _dudeldidu daaa, dudeldidu daaa_
Was also thinking that
Same reason why one wouldn't play high quality audio like music through the telephone XD.
Would be cool if he tried being an 8-bit artist or something, with more control over intentional simplification, instead of automatic compression.
@@helcostr6280 exactly.
I was just about to comment this. Curse u Diaz
So basically you’re making music for a flash game.
RIP Flash :(

That's really accurate))

now that was spot on.

Alternative Title: Making a song in the early 2000s
I was gonna comment Alternate Title: Making a 2006 rap beat for the first one
amiga times
Although, music in the early 2000s didn’t sound so low quality
This is taking lo-fi to its logical extreme.
Post lo-fi
Lo-quality
the logical extreme would be actually recording the individual instruments to cassettes then putting those back into digital file form after being damaged a fuckton
Should be zero-fi.
@@jordandiaz1946 lmao
Now I wanna hear the high-quality version of this song.

use the same samples but high quality lol

Some of these are really cool in the sense of an intro. Like a filtered, low quality pre drop, then boom. Drop hits full blast.

Flash games be like:
don’t speak ill of the dead
Some hear it as trash. We hear it as treasure.
Those compressed sounds sound like the $2 headphones you get from the gas station
@*facepalm*
Yeah, the $2 headphones, plugged into a Sony walkman, listening to a mixtape recorded on a generic low quality cassette tape, I'd say that's about how it sounds.
The only dislike is from ableton
First comment
Now it's 2. The other one is from FL Studio
@@keyjiiiii now its 3 that one is from chrome music maker XD
@@BasedPotato403 now there's four
Its from N- Track
(The software that Levi used i think)
You should make music using sounds from around you, like record yourself opening and closing scissors or open and closing doors, just normal stuff, even a microwave beeping, just everyday sounds, it'd be great if you did that
I’ve done that before, but it ended up just being filled with Wii disk drive sounds :|
It’s only on SoundCloud though, I might upload it to RUclips when I get the time to
If I ever get an OP-1 I have a plan where I wanna lock myself in a room and make a song out of samples I get from only that room. It would be really cool I think.
@@NotHereBoi lmao I've done it too but it was for experimental I do actually do music seriously, I do it for my mate in school as he's trying to succeed in the music topic and I help him with the main stuff and the vocals, it's not public tho, it's only as a school project.
@@darksentinel082 yeah that is a good idea. I stuck my mate in a kitchen and he actually made a decent beat, it was full of draws opening, knives chopping, fridges closing, it was actually good.
Sounds like music you hear when you get out on hold
Or flash games

Some lofi has amazing quality sounds tbh
I think usually lofi is characterized by distortion (especially like the kind you would get on a low quality cassette deck) and not mp3 compression, meaning this could be a whole new genre! (what are we gonna name it??)
Some of these actually sound pretty cool. It's like _magical_ sounds.
i played this video in 144p so it's even more compressed
0:18 sounds like it could be in a lofi song tbh.
lofi producers wanna learn his secrets
"Our representatives are currently busy helping other customers. Please stay on the line, your call is very important to us"
Ah yes, my favourite genre, coolmathcore
That compressed "yeah" makes me chuckle.

no no, he's got a point
lofi but digitally
Low fi
Low Wi Fi
I've been seeing more people experimenting with super lossy compression for sound design recently and I'm super excited to see where it goes. I could see this become similar to how lofi is made out of nostalgia for the sound of vinyl, it reminds me a lot of how music sounded on flash games (specifically club penguin).
Now replace them with the original, full quality ones
He did that at the end of the video lmao
?? Um ok when i watched the video it wasnt??? Either that or i have autism.. probably autism

The first song sounds like an intro to a PS1 sci-fi game
This is not garbage. This is Lofi.
the second song sounds like something you'd hear in a racing flash game
We should start a new genre around this.
Nostalgiacore?
Low Quality Core
Compresscore
7:30 sounds like something youd hear in club penguin back in like 2008
They may be low-quality sounds, but this video proves that Levi can make music with literally anything.
"Even though it's horrible it sounds good!"
-Levi Niha, 2021
“Please hold the line. A customer representative will be with you shortly.”
It would be really cool to hear these songs uncompressed, but that’s not really possible I guess. Thanks for the video nonetheless, really enjoyed it! For some reason these low quality sounds are really funny
He should've replaced the samples with the high quality ones in the end to see what it sounds like
Did you watch till the end? He literally did that
Appears like I didn't, nevermind then. Whoops
This plugged pad at 0:54 is so crazy good. Transfering so much emotion. 1:22 the chopped version is fire, too but when you pitched it a lot of these emotions got lost. This has some crazy potetial.
Sounds like it's all underwater, pretty cool
This basically sounds like a flash game😂😂😂 Good job Levi😉
All you need now is unregistered hypercam 2
This quality throws me back to Street fighter 3 3rd strike bc its similar to the guy who speaks in the background that says "yeah that makes sense"
Are those samples from wish?
Yeah. Make-A-Wish foundation.
me from 1 year later: hey! this is my favourite video by Levi, ive been watching since i was 5 (im 10 rn) and the first sample was one of my favorite samples you have made and it will always be stuck in my mind (but in a good way) thanks!
Should’ve tried to make the outro out of the low quality sounds too. Im curious as to how it would’ve sounded
need a whole album like this
You NEED saturation to flesh it out, the way it works is it converts noise data to sine waves which is easier to store. Saturation fills out the “less important” frequencies that were removed
I do a lot of ambient with mp3 pads lmao
I really like the second song (both the low and high quality versions). Wish you made a full version of that
Oh! I didn't expect mp3 compression. I expected 6 khz, 8 bit samples that sound that a Casio SK-1 or a hitclip cartridge from the 2000s. Bit crushing and down sampling.
You made some great hold music
omg we found early Flash game music!
This is the song you will find on an old radio
Okay but I'd love a full version of the first one
sounds like your listing to your neighbor weird ass music through the wall
This would be a cool way to get a quick breakdown section before a drop - like slamming the filters open
My PO-33: Oooohh, i'm dirty! (in a good way)
My modded Gameboy with a LSDj: Oooh, i'm dirty (in a 4-bit way)
This video: Hold my soap and never give it to me back.
Ey Levi i Love your Videos dude keep going❤
I'm getting thrown back to my old flash games phase. RIP Flash
9:26 Kahoot music intensifies xD
i unironically love how all of them sound!
You should do one where you have to use all the sounds in reverse. Then play the song forward!
Ooohhh....This seems like a fun challenge. I may want to try something like this. Could work well for synthwave or chiptunes.
It sounds like it would be the intro to a song where it gets clear when the next part starts
This sounds like an old game from friv. RIP friv with all of your viruses and the nostalgic games that have completely disappeared
The First one Sounds Like a Windows Remix they would Play when calling microsoft
This already sounds like it's gonna be ridiculous but in excited to see the end product
Lmao it sound like these flash games we used to play. Ahhh ol'good memories

Kinda sounds like cell phone ringtones
Sounds like listening to the please hold music
All the sounds sound like they came from an old flash game.

4:36 sounds like a pokemon 8-bit noise
That's what I hear when I am on hold at customer service.
When your neighbor has the speakers on his windows 95 computer up way too high.
This is giving me nostalgia of Newgrounds
i got sent the album "some rap songs" by earl sweatshirt on discord and it was all in 8kbps

Proof positive that the quality of your craftsmanship will always outweigh the quality of your tools.
Hmm yes. The art of the Hold Music.
First one sounds like my jobs hold music when I’m calling in
The music that plays when you're put on hold
This is actually a pretty good concept
I'm always impressed to see what you can do Levi, repping Whangaz lmao
everything sounds like its building up to a drop
making music with recordings of music playing in the other room of a zoom call
they say only the legend can listen to it and enjoy
Bro.this is fire flipping.
I remember watching and the beats where great. But now there better
I cant stop thinking about that weird low quality spongebob dancing meme
Not me
Looks like Lo-Fi style game music, nice work
That second song is a bop!
what in the god damn, how do you even manage that lmao
5:23 It's like Hold/Flash game music but with a trap beat in it
i love how that sounds
You're gonna have an eargasm when you make a regular beat again

convert these songs into higher quality by changing the samples to their original quality that would be epic lol
