How to Make Beef Bone Broth for Dogs | DIY Dog Treats 112

Today we are going to show you how to make bone broth for dogs, in particular, how to make beef bone broth for dogs! Bone broth is a great way to add vital nutrition to your dogs diets. Bone broth can be used as a food topper, as a frozen treat, or even as a supplement for broth in other DIY Dog Treat recopies that we have posted! And Dogs love bone broth. Mine wanted to hang out in the kitchen the entire time this was cooking!
Ingredients:
Beef Marrow Bones (Femur Bones)
Chicken Liver (optional)
Seasonings of your choice
Apple Cider Vinegar
Directions:
Place all your bones into a slow cooker and cover them with water. Add 3 - 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Add DOG SAFE Seasonings of your choice, or don't add any! The broth will still have a lot of flavor either way. Cook on low for 24 hours or more. Towards the end you can add carrots or anything else you would like.
Once the broth is cooled, you can strain it (which I choose to do), and put it in containers and let it cool. Once cooled, scoop off the oily fat on the top, and that's it! Your DIY Dog Bone Broth is ready for your pets to enjoy!

My dog has unfortunately decided to bite the metal of the trampoline and hurt his tooth and gums. So we have had to feed him soup like consistency food and I made him the chicken soup u made and mixed a little of his chicken wet food into it. I made him a similar thing but a beef version with this in and He LOVED it soo much. He says thank u.

I have finally figured out what it is that makes Shelby such a visually distinct dog to me: it's how she puts her ears back so often. It gives her a set of "facial expression" that are kinda unique. I end up interpreting her as having an "attitude" like being "so over it" when she does that.

The girls are so excited. The marrow looks amazing. People used to eat marrow. There are long spoons so they could reach into the bone.
My sisters are both making bone broth for themselves since it helps with humans joints as well

When our dogs are sick or were recovering from a big surgery we would make chicken broth. Then we cook rice with it and add some of the chicken meat

I used to make beef bone broth for my dog when I had a dog. It is really easy to do. I used to pour some over their dry food as gravy. I did not know to use vinegar though. I think they love it." Worth the long wait Mom."

Thank you Jes, I just had to switch one of my dogs food because he has sensitive skin and stomach and the vet said get him on salmon no corn or wheat food. So first we tried him on Pure Balance and he really didn't tale to it, so we eased in IAMS sensitive skin and stomach brand amd he won't eat that at all because its bland I'm going to tey to make this your bone broth and add a little to his food . He hasn't been chewing or licking his feer for quite awhile since we changed his diet. Hopefully we can leep him on IAMS or Pure Balance with the help of this bone broth. I have one of my dogs on Hill's prescription diet Z/D and it keeps her skin clear but the price is just ridiculous. Thanks and I'll be watching for the next bone broth recipe😊😊
The vinegar is more for lowering the pH, the acid helps leach out more calcium which broth is surprisingly low in without doing that.

Can I ask why you have your dogs paw in a cast? Just curious. We have a tripawd German Shepherd. She was born without an ulna in her right front paw. She actually uses it for things, even though it just dangles, as the top has a bone and the bottom has a bone, but no bone in the middle. Im currently researching orthotic and prosthetic options for her.

I have a friend in her late 80's her daughter makes bone broth for her all the time. Good stuff, was on Dr. Oz as well. I'm going to try it out for myself, give some for the cat too. Easy to freeze.😺

Good recipe, does your slow cooker timer go to 24hrs or do you keep resetting it? I have a few recipes for human food lol that need more than 8hrs and my old slow cooker that had a 24hr dial finally died last year and my new cooker only has 2-4-8hr selections. Thanks

Lil bit of sugar (about 2 small spoonful)
Put milk and then blend it
Ps u can edit if u like
Not sugar. you could do this by yourself. Watch Jessica's Banana Split And then blend it instead.

I think those girls would've been fine with just a liquid lunch with the way they devoured that bone broth. Do you have to use just beef or could the bone of any animal could be used?

Also Turmeric needs to be given with something 'cooling' & 'hydrating' (like REAL yoghurt / Kefir or cucumber or coconut oil, or,....look up what other hydrating & cooling food is suitable & safe for your animal type) because Turmeric is 'Heating' or ''Yang Energy' food & it's also drying on the system / organs.
If you look at Persian or Indian cuisine (ancient cultures that use Turmeric) you'll see that this is how they always prepare their Turmeric (or other 'Yang' energy) seasoned dishes. There is always something hydrating & cooling either in the dish or on the side.
Can this be made with just chicken? My 2 dogs get chicken every day in their supper. I cook it in the oven after I remove the skin. Then I save the juices after it's done cooking and add water to it and then pour about a 1/4 cup over 2 to 2 1/2 cups for the large dog (GS) and a couple tbls for the little guy. What I do, do you think this is a good recipe that I give my dogs every day? Thank you for any thoughts you might have. And I can't forget to mention you have 2 beautiful dogs my only problem is I couldn't tell if they are Huskies or GS. They look like huskies to be honest with you.

LOL ... actually I found my huskies really did NEED extra fat in the winter because of the colder temps & extra energy they used playing in the snow :-D And as far as pronounciation goes - toe-MAY-toe/toe-MAH-toe .... in MN we say Too-MER-ic instead of Tu-MARE-ic
