When he says "choke up on the endmill," he means you need to seat it deeper in the tool holder. Unless the shaft is already seated deeply in the spindle, you're going to get more flex and deflection than if it was fully seated.
some tips for saving cutting time: 1. helical entries are your friend, use them for all pockets when possible 2. don't retract every depth cut, keep cutter down and just use incremental feed height 3. ramp the feed rate up! assuming your machine is relatively rigid you can take a lot faster cuts or take bigger depth of cuts
I realise its been sold already but i imagine it would take _much_ heavier cuts than that. even my chinese cheese 6040 takes 2mm doc @ 1100mm/min with a 6mm single flute.
adaptive clearing is the best choise for this tipe of milling .. on alluminium the aoe is between 22/36 gr of the flute and the close pocket my Attack is to plunge-in an ellittical spiral then using a.c. to routhing the geometries left about 0.06/0.12 mm from the bottom and shoulders to finish It with a finishing endmill 5 flute uncoated running at 8800 rpm (depends the diameter, i use a 12mm variable flute with 42/46gr of flute) . parameters about 8800rpm and 0.036 feed per tooth
i just about to start my first milling job, can you provide me with the drilling or milling bits used to cut this metal? also what were the dimensions of that flat bar?
i think u should better to use the high pressure coolant system to control the chips.. because when u drill the hole, the chips would demage the tool and the part.. if u are interested of the system u can contact me
-" choke up on the mill " , thanks , now I understand . -machine already sold , the buyer made a substructure out of steel tubing ...no more wobble ... -using 1/4 carbide end mill , 45 degrees helix , 3 flute . -spindle is a Hertz ( ebay ) , 750W , 18.000rpm , feed 30mm/min , depth of cut ( DOC ) 0,5mm , ... - IS NOT A CHINESE ROUTER !!! I MADE THAT MYSELF !!! Does it look like a chinese router ? I don't think so ....
That said, it seems like whatever your machine is mounted to is not sturdy and you're getting some wobble, which will affect the precision of your cuts. My guess is that you've probably fixed that by now.
+Jason Williams (Jase) Incorrect. Deflection is deflection; runout is a tool not revolving around its true center, perhaps caused by an inaccurate tool, worn spindle, or bad tool holder.
Oh yeah, choke up on the cutter. You know the final depth, lets get rigid. Tin coated carbide in aluminum. Is that a collet holder? I assume that's why the helical interpolation milling. Cool, Ok. I am biased to solid holders and would not think twice about full depth of cut at those same speeds. Cool video however. Nice! We need these tutorials to help others understand. I'm all for it!
is my job . i work in a "dart vmc 650 twin Speed". is an iso40 and can use large tools example to surface i have a 100mm/dia. by 45° 7 insert Shell mill of Mitsubishi. in steel i try insert about : nikko tools; for very big cut , at 460rpm and 540 mm/min i Attack the material at 3/3.8 mm Deep . Schumann tools for very skin finishing Mitsubishi for alluminium sumitomo for hard materials
You should learn to program your mill better, this is so much wasted time. Use the full length of your cutting tool. This way is more efficiant and better for the cutter and the mill. #adaptiv clearing
+Federico Romero Besné alot of wasted movement, purely reliant on the CAM software, not aggressive enough cuts, going to dull out this endmill. However this is a hobbyist milling on a cheap gantry style machine with no rigidity, so kudos to them
Wow...what a crap! 3flute end mills are considered roughing end mills(even though they are really a finishers). But they can really move the material. At 18000rpm and depth of cut of 5mm(.1868 inch-rather then .5 mm(.018') showing in the header of video).( But hard to guess, cause I do not know what is the size of block). The feed rate should be at least 54inches/minute(1371mm/min)...it should FLY!!!!.....But of course with 750 W(about 1Hp) spindle, you cannot do any production work. And this video is just tickling the work...Laughable! Of course you would need some cooling even on 7075 (at he speeds I am talking about). 750 Watts is about 1HP. That is like a Bridgeport......So it should definitely cut much faster, then what is shown! And if the machine cannot handle it, stay away from it. Unless you are home hobbyist.
Wow I wish my mill sounded like that when it cut.
Screw them haters, mate! Great job!

What wattage spindle? Rpm, feed, depth, and type of tool? Is that a chinese router?
That looks lovely!! What endmill do yo using? Thanks Bob
Watching CNC is like watching a MAGIC SHOW!!!! wish I could do this.
never too late to learn brother
What about full depth cutting would it be easier on the mill or is it about the same

Hi, id like to ask you this quickly
I'd like to mill a circle into a alu heatsink -reckon this would be possible using common power tools and vice?
I realise its been sold already but i imagine it would take _much_ heavier cuts than that. even my chinese cheese 6040 takes 2mm doc @ 1100mm/min with a 6mm single flute.

hello, how many flutes have a endmill? at what RPM?
thankssssss
Omg is it balanced on a bike seat?
i just about to start my first milling job, can you provide me with the drilling or milling bits used to cut this metal? also what were the dimensions of that flat bar?
The vise was a sweet deal ... found it in a flea market , paid about 200USD .
I don't get it ... what about that endmill ?
Too many wasted moves! Take some deeper cuts, the end mill can handle it.
Depending on horsepower, machine rigidity ect.
Is it a router spindle? Induction/servo motor driven spindle will give better torque performance. i.e. can mount larger cutters.
What kind of mill is this?
i think u should better to use the high pressure coolant system to control the chips.. because when u drill the hole, the chips would demage the tool and the part..
if u are interested of the system u can contact me
@bercut65 may i know your contact information? my email add is bananaboat812@gmail.com..

Does it look like a chinese router ? I don't think so ....
Hello Sir,
What stepper motors do u use here on this router? Nema 23 (425 or 270 oz-in)
Thanks i advance !
+Riste Bozhinov 425oz-in seems small toruqe

I call that run out..
Andrew Siverly
What is " run out " ? Please explain . Thanks
ut2003player the run out your talking about is typically refered as tool deflection!!!
+Jason Williams (Jase) Incorrect. Deflection is deflection; runout is a tool not revolving around its true center, perhaps caused by an inaccurate tool, worn spindle, or bad tool holder.
ok

hello, where do you get the tips thank you
Lot of wasted motion but I love the vice.
torque motors that have step by step?
Hello .what is the music ?
I machined my LANG 125 yesterday :`(
never cut ally without cooling liquid you will burn out machine and bits
nope if its a carbide mill you can go without coolant they xan handle more than 2800 degrees of heat

Freeman Pascal, I would like to know also. Thanks
Много ошибок в программе.НЕ очень.

That's cool,but I think i'd fire the programmer.
+Steve Seebold why? (trying to learn something here)

I think you should fire you're dietitian.
Doug Ryan, perhaps you should fire yourself. Commenting on someone's weight on the internet just makes you look stupid.

i program without any pc software of CAD CAM... fanuc language
That vise...www.lang-technovation.com/en/artikel/gruppen/65340.makro-grip-5-axis-vise.html
oh do you do that (マイクユ スッダ)
5 minuten voor die blok...
Coolboarder 2 music :p
Before start milling, please fix your machine first, bro your milling machine is wobbling...
Stupid music then silent....

very boring and slow
