@@ProlificPops The problem with the original ending (I think) is that it justifies Bishop's character too much. He goes on a killing spree throughout the movie and then gets to have things his way in the end by going out the way he wanted to. In the version that makes it into the film, we see him screaming and begging for his life at the end, demonstrating that he's really just a coward above all else. MUCH better, if you ask me, for promoting the message that crime ultimately doesn't pay, which was such a common theme throughout these '90s urban dramas.

I read a piece that says that Radimez implies that Bishops father was sexually assaulted in jail constantly. I thought it was just to piss bishop off, but if this indeed happened to his father, that definitely explains why bishop felt he had power when he held that gun…. And why he chose to let go in this ending… this ending also links with the James Cagney ending too. So many layers here and the film company chose that weak ass ending.

His dad indeed get gang banged in jail constantly. In the beginning he looked scarred, a man whose seen and been through hell. He got PTSD. We don’t know how long his father’s been in prison, but Bishop’s fear of going to jail he must’ve been a kid when his dad was doing time, and to hear about your dad getting violated in prison over and over while you grow is traumatizing. In real life, that shit is scary and no grown ass man wanna go through with that.

He told the outlawz if he was to go back to jail he wanted one of them to shoot him in the head. Had Tupac lived through that night in Vegas, they would’ve sent him back to jail and that’s the last place Pac wanted to be.

wow. i am amazed. Also in real life, they wanted Tupac back in jail, but he didn't want to go back to jail, so it's possible he went out like a G dissing a lot of people, keeping it real, or, he faked his death because he knew he would be in jail for a longtime like Mutulu Shakur.

I can see what the original ending will be like without hearing of Pac's character Bishop screams with his last breath. I can understand that, but the official ending of Juice says it all: Bishop screams with his last breath while took a gruesome fall to his death/fate.

I never knew there was an alternate ending. They should have put it on the first DVD. But it's cool. This ending was better, but no matter what, he was so fkd up in the head from the trauma in his life he didn't know how to live. That's why Pac was the best person to play this part!

I don’t know how many alternate movie Ending videos I’ve seen on RUclips and the alternate ending is always better. The original ending is tragic but This ending is How bishops legacy should’ve truly ended. And he’s silent as he falls to his death, powerful. Almost honorable, like seppuku. Maybe it just seemed to real and movie execs had to water it down. They probably thought it’d influence youngsters rather to die than go to jail but that’s the Grim reality, most REAL g’z/ homeboys would rather die than go to prison.

locker scene: "i aint shit...i aint ever gon be shit"
what if this movie was reimagined to actually focus on the progression of a suicidal young black male as the protagonist, and the ambitious, cool DJ friend as the antagonist. What if their roles were switched, and Bishop was actually the victim of systemic poverty and mental health, and we're watching how that manifests itself into a power-hungry, violent, chaotic young man who, over the course of time, destroyed himself.

1:00 except wanting to die than go to prison and face your consequences IS being a punk .. wanting to live and face consequences in a way is less punk, it just means he was phony fake tough guy .. which, he obviously was a punk either way tho / putting on an act .. ..what he really should say/would mean, is him wanting to die & avoid his consequences is punking out (which, again, either way is punking out), but he wasn’t fake about being crazy & willing to die & go all out with it all, even to death/if it meant death .. replace punk (again, he’s a punk either way), with forreal about being psycho and not caring about dying when it is all said & done .. vs when it came down to it, not actually wanting to die, and being exposed as putting on an act of being willing to take it all the way to death

I think it would've been better if Q pulled him up and Bishop accepted responsibility for his actions. Being shown mercy from Q lets him know he did have real friends who were his family. That would show that Bishop grew as a character and learned from his mistake and was man enough to pay for it.

      I disagree.
And what's in jail is a bunch of cowards
Clicking up using strength and numbers
And taking the manhood of men
      Which ain't macho
And isn't hard at all. Bishop was far from a punk he got into it with radamez and his crew without the gun and was willing to go into a bar being robbed by Blizzard
      While being unarmed
Bishop was a lot of things
      A psychopath
      Crazy, unstable
      But he wasn't a punk

    • @TheFirstTEE1
