Story of the song is because a friend of hers or a friend of somebody she knows. The lady has brittle bone disease or something similar to that and her bones break easy and she has lots of pain. But through her faith and her inner strength she feels fully alive.

Blackguard Harper true, but A LOT of their songs are inspired by it or a story from the Bible...which I love. Lacey/Flyleaf and Skillet prove you can still love Jesus while at the same time rock out in a hard rock/metal band.

I love Flyleaf and Lacey's voice is one of my favorites. She definitely has her own unique sound. If you want to hear a different side to her voice I would suggest checking out the songs I'm So Sick and Breath Today.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but Lacey Sturm is 4'11" and thin as a toothpick so how does she pump out that kind of voice. She goes from soft and sweet to powerful. I recommend"I'm So Sick" to get a better idea of her range.

I started listening to more Flyleaf this week. I definitely second what others have said. "I'm So Sick" by Flyleaf is definitely a must-listen. Maybe also "Heavy Prey" (it's not a Flyleaf song, but Lacey sings it).

FINALLY!!!!!!!! Lacey Sturm in my opinion is THE BEST FEMALE ROCK VOCALIST of all time. Like some the others are saying “Hard and Heavy for Flyleaf is “I’m So Sick”, for solo stuff try “Heavy Prey” or “ROT”.

Its a true story about the Columbine shooting and how a girl named Cassie was asked if she believed in gid and she said yes do the shooter shot her. Dame thing happened to another girl rachel. They both said yes knowing they would die. Its an amazing song to listen to.

The singer is Lacey Sturm, she has an amazing voice and has some more powerful vocals when you look up other Flyleaf songs. She has, however, tone back on some of the vocals after having vocal cord issues, but still amazing to hear sing. One thing you need to know is she did leave the group to focus more on her family, but still does music under her own name Lacey Sturm and Flyleaf would get a new singer to replace her in 2014. Sadly I don't think it was same without Lacey, her voice is just so unique. As of last I heard, the new singer named Kristen, I think, left the group stating she wasn't home enough and feeling like she never really belonged in the band. That was 2016 and they have been silent since with no word that I've heard of coming back with new vocals.
I would definitely look up I'm So Sick, it was the first song I heard and All Around Me is a favorite of mine. Look up Lacey Sturm-Rot is a good one and she does vocals on a song by Apocalyptica-Broken Pieces. Also I don't know if there are any good enough live recordings, but she did backup vocals for the group Skillet a while back because of other commitments their drummer/vocalist wasn't able to attend several shows. Actually Skillet is a good group to listen to if you haven't done any reactions to them, especially their newer songs. Not to mention the bands two side projects Ledger and Fight the Fury

"Im so sick" and "all around me" got to do it bro..
She actually wrote the song about the singer of Trust Company's wife, who was bed ridden with an illness and Lacey saw the joy in her face even though she was dealing with such pain. So that humbled Lacey and made her appreciate life more and not sweat over the small things. I think that's what she mentioned when she was asked about the lyrics of the song.

Also! The song Fully Alive is about the wife of someone who is in a band that Flyleaf did a tour with who had a condition where her bones break easily so she rarely has any days without pain. But despite that she remains positive and fully embraces life despite her condition.
Love Flyleaf. Definitely check out the songs listed below by others. Interesting fact - Flyleaf used to be named Passerby, but changed it after signing their first big record deal (probably a copyright issue). I saw them playing in little clubs in central Texas back then. Great band.

The singer for flyleaf left the group a couple years before the band ,I guess split. She (Lacey Strum) does her own music now.
All of the songs by flyleaf with her as the vocalist are top tier. As is her solo project. I wish she would go back to Flyleaf. but she said she wanted to part ways due to reasons she spoke of in the past. She is a sweet woman. Check out her song called Impossible. It is easily one of my favorite songs that she has done. Powerful lyrics.
