Just beautiful.........to watch and listen to Ella’s story...........Ella’s people parents were so lucky to have her and you to create a furever piece of art. 🥰🥰
Omgoodness I love her!! I have a miniature doxie. He is so beautiful and just so sweet. And he is literally my baby. He is truly just one of the kids. They all say that their brother. He has the best personality. His mom was short haired and father was long haired and so he is a mix and just perfect! I’ve been wanting to paint him for some time now, but I just wanna know I can do him Justice. I absolutely loved watching you paint this sweet and beautiful little lady ❤️
This is the best dog portrait I’ve seen. Very informative. I fell in love with this sweet little girl while listening to her beautiful life. Thank you. You captured her sweet character perfectly.
This is the most inspiring tutorial I have ever viewed. It gives me so much confidence and motivation to keep painting and gaining more knowledge. I really appreciate you sharing your talent and for painting live so that I can paint along with you. A beautiful painting!❤️
What a wonderful doxie portrait! Having bred this breed, and still have 2 mini wirehairs, know all so well how they can capture your heart. I'm currently working on a memorial pet portrait of 2 kitties, and you gave me some great tips. Thanks Jessica, for your valuable instruction videos! God bless.
This was one of the most amazing, engaging instructional painting videos I have seen. Thank you so much!!!!!! I can't wait to watch more of your work. I am a relative beginner and I have my first commission. I am nowhere near as good as you are. Now I'm so nervous. I am especially bad at the measurements and eyes.
Thank you so much, Audrey! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The video I posted today talks more about measurements. I hope it helps! Here is a link to that video:ruclips.net/video/py4RuYP0kyM/видео.html
Thank you so much for your sincere approach to expression, and explanation in your videos in terms of instruction for color, composition, value, brush stroke and the importance of capturing the essence in a portrait. I have just stated painting this year and can’t get enough. I am a landscape and architectural photographer and so much conveys from that discipline to painting. But there is nothing like actual experience. I appreciate you taking the time to really convey your thoughts and thinking on your process and helping us understand the process. Well done...You have gained another like and subscribe form me. I look forward to watching many more of your videos. Thank you Jessica again! You seem like a true genuine person living their passion :-)
Thank you so much for this insightful video. I have a lot of practicing to do but its through watching your wonderful demonstrations, that encourage me and inspire me to make this a wonderful pastime. I particularly want to concentrate on pet portraits. Thank you again, for what was a difficult video x
I just lost my Border Terrier to cancer about 2 months ago. I have done a watercolor portrait of her a couple years ago, but would like to try portrait in in oil. Thank you for the demonstration and the compassion.
No, I feel that all forms of tracing are a form of cheating. I prefer to train my eye to see correctly. The only times I ever used carbon paper was when I did stained glass and had to transfer patterns to my cutting paper.
An artist who rejuvenate the art, lovely.

Thank you Lee!
Thank you you are amazing 😉
Beautifully done. I did not hear what size canvas you used.
11" x 14"
Is Atelier a method?
have you even show have pick one side of the paper or dose that matter and showed the import ant's of not centering your picture?
when you map out the dog ...what made you use a blue ? Just curious because I'm learning to paint
I was using blue with burnt sienna. I often grab those two colors, because it gives me a warm dark to "draw" on my image.
Great jasi
Oh my watching this again
Thank you, Linda, that was an emotional one- sweet little doggie!
How can anyone give this a thumbs down?
Do you ever just use carbon paper?
No, I feel that all forms of tracing are a form of cheating. I prefer to train my eye to see correctly. The only times I ever used carbon paper was when I did stained glass and had to transfer patterns to my cutting paper.
