@@mynameusedtobelong fan made animations aren't subjected to deadlines and whatnot. a solo creator can legit just take their sweet time whenever they're free (so the budget doesn't matter, they're not getting paid for it) and only animate like, 5 minutes of stuff at most. but studios have to pump out waaaay more content almost nonstop.

It's not weird that you would feel that way. Touhou aesthetic have inspired ALL softheart anime of early 2000s, which in turn evolve to become an animation style used widely in 2010s. It also DIRECTLY influenced the creation of Vocaloid, as it was originally designed to sing Touhou song exclusively.

I'd say it would be mima if not for the memes, but right now I think Medicine is the most forgotten touhou (boss) character. there are of course also touhou characters who don't appear in any game.
Even after so long I feel that this song does not age and makes me feel that time has not passed but I still know that time has passed and will continue to do so so it is better to enjoy the things of life no matter how small and insignificant they are, you will never have something like this again for sure.

This song perfectly shows the beauty of Gensokyo, despite its strangeness, it's wonderful, it's a world where the forgotten roam, it's a phenomenon itself, and that's why I love this song.
That's the beauty of touhou. It's the story of an eastern land with so many different interpretations that you can't ever really see the truth. There's one canon, but there's so much fanon built on top of that, and then there's more fanon that is it's own canon. ZUN gives us snippets of the characters personalities, but it's never the full story. There's only one Nitori, yet she's different across all of the clips in this video. Who can say who the real one is?
Man, this song's still my happy place. I can still vividly remember the most relaxing part of my life, sitting at home alone, two weeks off of work, playing an overly-edgy Pokemon fan game curled up on my couch with my laptop with this blaring on repeat... It was such a simple and cozy time. Whenever the stress of my current day-to-day life starts to get to me I love to just close my eyes, listen to this song and remember how nice it felt to have no worries like that.
I still remember that one Nitori Get Down video which was showing some fanarts of her and for some reason one of them was her in the guillotine, moments before cuting her head. Looking at the fact that it was my first time seeing anything Touhou related, it made me kinda scared of interacting with the fandom xd

To be fair, it's not exactly touhou content. The song is an old japanese song called "Promise" that got remixed, while Nitori Get down has been adapted from the get down meme in the early internet days. There was actually another Touhou AMV Video with the original song. It was one of the favorite Touhou Videos back then, but all uploads got removed because of copyright claims on the song (that's how my old acc 00Hito00 got a strike as well until it got entirely deleted lol). Because of this, I made a tribute to it with the remix which could not be copyright claimed back in the days. That's the reason why its the only one that stayed untouched in all these years.

I keep coming back to listen to this piece of masterpiece every october 31th since 2020, as someone who wanted to be a weeb in the 2000s I feel so lucky that I figured this out!

its amazing how much old touhou content that is still being used/referenced to this day, i consider myself a new touhou fan but man i think i just scratched the surface
To be fair, it's not exactly touhou content. The song is an old japanese song called "Promise" that got remixed, while Nitori Get down has been adapted from the get down meme in the early internet days. There was actually another Touhou AMV Video with the original song. It was one of the favorite Touhou Videos back then, but all uploads got removed because of copyright claims on the song (that's how my old acc 00Hito00 got a strike as well until it got entirely deleted lol). Because of this, I made a tribute to it with the remix which could not be copyright claimed back in the days. That's the reason why its the only one that stayed untouched in all these years.
