Fantastic quality. Great performance. I remember when this song came out, and sadly, probably the last "new song" by REO.that I heard on the radio back then.
It's such a great song! I saw them perform a few years ago and it's too bad they didn't play any songs of this particular CD because there were some really good ones.
lance9772. Glad you got to meet the band. I followed them since the 1973 when Golden Country came out and have always been a big fan theirs. I saw them the first time in 1974 at Milsaps (or Bellhaven) College in Jackson, MS. I first saw Kevin singing with them in 1979 on the 9 Lives Tour at the Jackson College. The Tradwinds was the smallest place I ever saw them. I saw Jefferson Starship (Kantner, Thomas, Slick) at Valley Forge. another great place for concerts. Take care!
This probably the only video of this song being performed live. There is a live audio of same song with Jesse Harms also doing keyboards but no other videos. Great post.
Lol i think he was surprised more then anythin!!!.....That song is very special and dear to him....he says its the best song they never recorded!!!!..lol.....it is an amazin song!!!!
@jethroboar I was also at that show, and chilled with the band in the parkin lot before the show.I took plenty of pics with them,i had a pic of Kevin and I made into a poster, then went to another show at the valley forge music fair in Pennsylvania a year later and Kevin signed the poster for me.Kevin is the coolest cat that ever meowed lol.
lance9772 I did the same at Birmingham UK in 2007, took photos, got posters made following morning then went to London next night and showed them to their sound engineer and he took me back stage to meet the band again and get them signed. Cherished memories and yes they are very chilled and down to earth.
I always thought this should have been a big hit. If you ever been in love and wanted to tell someone that it will last forever this is the song for them. I actually think the "Small Man" album is a very good album and under apprecaited album with several good ballads. I saw them in the smallest place I had ever seen them in 1991 and they played this. They plad at a bar, the Tradewinds at the Jersy Shore, but they were very good.
Thank you for posting this!! I had a copy of this show, but lost it during a nasty breakup. I remember "157" at the end being just all-out great, with KC doing what could be described as a "solo slam dance"! I remember "Don't Let Him Go" being AWESOME in this show; it was more than halfway through, because they opened with RTSO. Would you consider -- please! please! -- uploading this show's DLHG? Again, thank you for what you've posted!! God bless & take care...
Excuse me sir,is that awesome song"into the light"on that cd as well?..you're not goin to believe this, but i was chillin with the band backstage at a show in AC New jersey,KC and I were talkin about that song, and i slipped and told him how cool it was to see a video of the song on you tube.He was shocked and said"that was on you tube"?lol...a while later,it was off you tube.lol.And i was pissed, cause i didn't download while i had the chance.Me and my big mouth!Sorry everybody!lol
No, disrespect, but I know that these guys are old men now, and I'm just trying to find out when their age started to show. I think I might have found it.
This song should have been a monster hit. I was surprised when it wasn't.
An unappreciated song from an unappreciated band - but not from this guy…LONG LIVE THE SPEEDWAGON!
So amazing I was born after this song and I’m here worshipping it
That is a great album....so underrated
WOW!! Never though I'd see footage from this tour. What a rarity. THANKS for uploading!!!
Beautiful song. Two thumbs up 👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Fantastic quality. Great performance. I remember when this song came out, and sadly, probably the last "new song" by REO.that I heard on the radio back then.
I agree.
What a rarity indeed, thanks for sharing the live video of this beautiful song! I wish more people were aware of it.
Been to a lot of reo concerts and never heard this one...sounds power ballad to me.
The earth a small man his dog and a chicken was mostly great power ballads.
Rest In Peace Gary.... they're not the same anymore. Just a Tribute Band now.
Disagreed.
They are just a tribute band and have been since 1972 when Terry Luttrell left.
It comes from their definitely best album, crazy called "The Earth, a Small Man, His Dog and a Chicken".
Amazing love it
Great band, great song! i love it

El solo de guitarra final de Dave Amato es brutal🎸🎧🤘
Hahaha Tuve que buscar mucho para encontrar otro comentario en español... en este lado del mundo también nos gusta la buena música ¿No?
Kevin Cronin is a god❤
love DAVE AMATO!!!!!!
No Richrath - sorry
Indeed...Dave filled Gary's big shoes and then some!
すごいテクニック!

1969DayTripper Did you ever get the whole show? Am desperate to see it.
All of a sudden Steve Harris.
And then Simon Pegg
No, disrespect, but I know that these guys are old men now, and I'm just trying to find out when their age started to show. I think I might have found it.
this a great song don't get me wrong , but this isn't a good opening track for an album
this song is not the best song, and it's not like time for me to fly or i needed to fall.
Kevin Cronin and his shitty ballads killed REO Speedwagon. It started with the album Good Trouble. Went downhill from there.
You don’t know what your talking about you suck REO is one great band thanks to kevin and the band
Those shitty ballads made them all MILLIONAIRES!
Yet they are still touring.
You crazy
Amazing love it
