I call BS. Peer reviews are good, but its usually best to remain objective and unbiased as possible mate...You were so keen to hate on the putter and make Good Good look like a bunch of stooges. Except what you did was the opposite, you look like the stooge with 3.5 grand worth of "gamer" putters in your bag and a $300 putter (that you insinuated was way to expensive) produced by some kids, yet by some miracle it puts the the ball in the hole better than all your other ones??? You obviously have no idea when he say no R&D hes talking about real R&D like the big name guys do, Good Good wont make enough extra money their entire careers to hire an R&D department like Ping, Taylormade, Titleist, and Callaway\Odyssey have. They most likely did have R&D, which was some guy who knew alot about putter design and researcehed CNC mill designs, cut the putters, then developed molds, and had the guys in Good Good test them. Callaway spent 68 million in 2021 alone, lets say they have a dept for Drivers, woods, and hybrids. Balls. Irons. and then Odyssey putters, thats 68mil divided by 4, 17million just on putter R&D alone. Not saying these are bad putters, because to be honest, a good putter can use any putter and still be decent at rolling the rock.

I think you should ditch the gravity grip on the Evnroll and go with a pistol grip like the Good Good putter.
I'd also find the perfect length.
I did and it made a world of difference.
Playing at 34 1/2 and It felt like the Betti Studio #8 putter but 10 times more forgiving.
I tried the gravity grip and couldn't get used to it. It felt like the rod wanted to roll.
    Another tip... build your Evnroll.
Most folks don't realize Evnroll has different weight heads for many, it not all, of their models.
Check the dots on the bottom. To the best of my knowledge, they come from assembly, stock with lightest head has 1 dot and is married to the 35" shaft. The 34" has two dots and is heavier than 1 dot and 33" has the heaviest head with 3 dots.
I don't see why you couldn't give them a call and build one to your desired specs.
I've worked with them over the phone and they're awesome.
More like a mom and pop atmosphere.
You can also choose hosel style, size and color as well as shaft color Black or chrome.
    Just sayin'.

that was a really fair and informative review. I like that you say you were thinking or even hoping it would be bad or not good good. The content guys of Good Good are young hungry good golfers. The brains behind the scenes are super smart and their R&D is pretty solid so far. The products are not crappy and I hoped it translated to any hard goods they make. Thank you for this review.

Okay Mr Short Game- I admit, I was incredibly put off by your initial Impression and how much you called it a collectors piece simply due to the biases. I absolutely agree that for the price, the packaging and the head cover should be premium.
But you showed in this review that you are humble enough to be wrong about it.
I don’t think it’s fair to call it ZERO R&D as they hired a very experienced putter engineer to work with on it. Sometimes the best gadgets and inversions are created by just a single person or a small team- such as many kickstarter projects.
But all in all, kudos to you. But here’s the real question- now that you know, what you know- will you game it?

Sometimes there is a surprising success behind the putters that don't carry the big names or the big cost. Used a $40 Teardrop mallet from Sports Authority for the first few years until I switched to a blade style. Now use a $80 Cleveland blade that feels so good.

As youtubers they knew making their own putters they'd be called out if they were horrible. Its a no brainer that its great quality. Matt Kendrick (ceo of good good) did the same thing with googan baits. Put the time and work into testing and research and put out a product that exceeds all expectations making anyone whos looking to talk bad on them look dumb.
And they did just that... for example. Here we have a 40 year old man click baiting his review video of the putter praying to get some traction to his slow growing channel while a few buddies screw around on a golf course doing crazy numbers on youtube that you could only dream of.

If there was zero R&D, there wouldn't be a product. D = development. The product is developed, right? Well there ya go.
I'm a mechanical engineer who works in R&D. Whoever says that there is zero R&D in any product is just wrong. Maybe significantly less than Scotty or TaylorMade or Ping, but definitely not zero.

  • @justbobgolf

I think you should game it. I've seen a lot of custom workshop putters which seem to perform just as great as any other big brand out there. No R&D involved, it's a classic head shape, which is easy to align and if the sound is good, that's all you need right? Might have to order one myself as well.

it looks good, its milled from a single block of steel which is great...but my Sub 70 putter was also milled and i paid only $190 for that brand new

    • @jeromekemmer8148
      @jeromekemmer8148 Год назад

That extracts to $110 (possibly more once you account for what the Sub 70 putter name adds to the $190) for having the Good Good name stamped on it. Interesting to put a number on the value of a name/brand. 58% increase over Sub 70. Not bad once you consider how quickly Good Good are growing and how popular they are. Time will tell how well they do in the market. Will they take off or phase out the idea of releasing clubs. Sounds like from the comments, that all of the stock will be snapped up as quick as it is available. It's not a design that's ever appealed to me, but I would like one. Hard not to get caught up in the movement!

I mean if you're putting that good with it why change it at all? Maybe the grip is just fine as is. The data and results are speaking for itself, I'd say you should totally toss it in the bag for a few videos. You said it yourself though, you had made like 1 birdie in 3 days and then walked off the course with multiple birdies, a skin won, and no 3 putts. Seems like a massive improvement in itself, but a few more rounds should be the telltale sign to normalize out some play and course quirks. Great video!

Now in NO way am I saying that your putting stroke is bad, but you can’t expect to buy a putter at a high price and expect it to change the way you strike the ball, your stroke etc. I am in no way saying that your stroke is no good, I mean, your name is “Mr. ShortGame” so no disrespect just saying to all the people saying that they’re buying this because of your review that the putter isn’t going to change the stroke or the user.
