Eric, I am a 10 handicap and received mine two days ago. The first thing I noticed was the high quality construction. The molded grip felt very comfortable. I did notice the grip setting for "strong" was what I considered neutral which made me more aware of my grip placement. My regular right hand grip is more on top and my miss was to the right. The molded grip showed me I needed to have my right hand in a stronger position . My first initial swings did not produce the click but I was able to quickly determine that I was swinging to far from the inside. I then adjusted my swing to what felt to me was OTT but to my surprise it clicked! I tried it again with my new swing feel and it clicked again! I can now make a consistent swing that clicks! As to the ball flight, my right miss has turned into a consistent draw! I think you are really onto something with this and urge anyone hesitant to purchase to take the leap! You won't be disappointed!
Okay I’m in. You sold me. I just bought one. But I’m not gonna lie that was not an easy purchasing process. So many other options being pushed for extra subscriptions, extra clubs, extra video sales pitches. That was a classic “ but wait, there’s more!” Tv infomercial to wade through.
Yes completely agree was just gonna post this. The webpage itself is awful looks like a scam popup page for somesort of medication from the early 2000s. Don't get me wrong this isnt anything against Eric or the product i think the product looks good/ great idea but it immediately turned me off from thinking of purchasing it. I mean this to be some sort of useful feedback.
I agree the website could use some work. I ordered mine today and am anxious to get my hands on it. Only because @Eric Cogorno Golf endorses it. I love all your videos and willing to pay for something you stand behind.
Also agree - I know it's not your call Eric but I'd tell PG it's a huge dissatisfier. The web site marketing was flat out annoying, things like a video you can't advance to get to the punch line, the "but wait, there's more..." stuff. I bought one last week despite that after having walked away the first 2 times. We're all adults here and we're not buying a a dadgum ShamWow. 😃
A friend of mine has been a club pro for 40 years. Came back from the PGA show and said this was the best training aid ever invented, and he hates training aids. I ordered mine on 4/24, just called and they said it'll be going out today or tomorrow. I'll have this sucker out at the range the day I get it.
I received my straight stick yesterday. This morning I warmed up with it before I played and all was well. After my round I practiced some more and could only make it click, even at the 60 mph setting on 1 out of 10 swings. Then I noticed the little circle of metal the magnet clicker sticks to was rotated under the shaft. You can see in this video the little metal circle is on top of the shaft. I loosened it and then tightened it back down with the little metal circle oriented on top of the shaft and I was back in business, club clicks at all speed settings. Exhausted from all the failed swings, but happy once again.
Do you mean that the piece at the bottom of the shaft was upside down? I ordered mine on 4/15 and am still waiting to receive. Not sure why it's taking so long but i'm sure it will be worth the wait. Thanks1
@@rickvanhollebeke2367 The magnet on the sliding ring (clicker) sticks to a little dot of metal on the bottom of the swing speed adjustment assembly. The assembly rotates 360 degrees so the dot of metal on the sliding ring can be left, right, on top, on the bottom. I ended up putting a piece of tape over the 'dot'. It was getting really difficult to make it click on an 'air' swing (the magnet is strong for the weight of the ring). Note: it always clicks when it contacts a ball.
Having to put a piece of tape on this thing is BS. I cannot get my magnet to release at any setting and with ridiculous swing effort. This "training aid" is going back for a replacement.
It’s recommended by Eric, so I scrolled straight through the endless infomercial of the landing page to the bottom and bought it. Totally worth it if can save me one stroke a round!

I've had mixed interactions with performance golf in the past, and the way that they advertise and try to get you to buy more and more so often makes it easy to lose your trust with them. I ordered this club early in April and am so excited to finally receive it this sunday! Having this video has also settled my nerves about it being some sort of scam so a big thank you to you.
Got one and it’s great! I was concerned because I am a 5’4” woman, but it works fine for me. I take it to every course I play to warm up with and use it in my backyard net set up.
Seen another review video where they were able to take huge out to in or on to out swings and it would still give the positive clicking feedback. Was also able to adjust the speed to a wide range and still get the click every time. Not sure if he had a defective unit cause there were other people in the comments stating they couldn’t get their to click at all. Need more unbiased reviews.

@@CogornoGolf also as a note, the company auto opted us into some subscription where they charge us $29 a month and I just realized that. They are only cancelling the last two months. Pretty dissapointing on the association with a company that does that.

However, I would like to see if you could take a look at the review by BBB Golf and how he was able to make the magnet release at all sorts of odd and terrible angles. He bashed it pretty hard and I think maybe addressing some of those issues he addressed would be beneficial. Thanks for the video.

Unfortunately seems like some bad reviews like this---I had not had my experience using it with all of my students and we did a lot of testing of course before promoting. I just got my Straight Stick - after some testing it doesn't appear to be true that the clicker won't click if you make a bad swing. I tested whether I can get it to click if I make myself swing on an obviously off-plane path [way too far inside to out, OR way too outside to in] AND I flipped the club head out in front of my hands purposely. Sorry to say this Eric, but in all of those cases I was able to get the clicker to click. Please advise if I am misunderstanding your presentation here where you say and demonstrate that the clicker will only click if you make a good compressive strike on the ball.
Hey Ted---this seems like an abnormality to me based on our testing. I would first start by confirming you are on the correct speed. If you swing say 90mph and you are on 60mph its easier to get it to click with "bad" swings" That said---it still SHOULD NOT be easy to click from poor spots. Can you confirm your speed setting is on correct?
@@CogornoGolf Good points Eric. Yeah, I was probably on too sensitive/low of a swing speed setting relative to my swing speed. PLUS I really had to force it to go fast with those bad swings in order to trigger the clicking action. To be fair to your product, I hadn't yet watched Rocco's video series on "Getting Started" with the Straight Stick before I did my own probably misguided testing to try to force the clicker to trigger with purposely forced ugly swings - for instance, Rocco has a video episode where he went over the clicker being triggered on bad swings that addresses my question here.

I am now on my second straight stick 7 iron. For the life of me I cannot get it to click on a practice swing period. When I hit balls with the straight stick it doesn't matter how bad the swing is it does click. I purchased it to groove a consistent swing on plane. So far it has done none of the advertised features. I am getting ready to send it back for a refund. Very disappointed.
Patience of the power. I call it the thrust in the swing. If you’re a bad golfer then you thrust way too early, with body shoulders arms etc trying to overpower the ball. I can see it when you use this the patience. It’s a hard thing to learn but if people could learn when it’s ok to apply these forces that would fix almost everything
Actually, you can make 1 of these for nearly no cost at all. All you need is a toilet paper roll or better, a piece of pvc that fits over the top of the grip that will slide easier. Just slide it over the grip until it reaches the shaft. You don't have to make full swings but rather only from waist high with the club parallel to the ground. All you have to do is be certain that it doesn't slide to the clubhead until after impact when your arms are straight. If it hits the clubhead before then, you know you released too early. You don't have to hit balls but you definitely could. Why spend $139 when you can make one for free or for a few dollars? Try this 1st & if it doesn't work, then spend the money to buy the straight stick if you choose.
Great question---when we tested we found it only would take a few swings of experimenting for someone to quickly learn their speed when using it so I dont think it should be an issue with a bit of experimenting if you dont already know ball park speed :)

I noticed that I am still slicing the ball due to an open face on contact because of an inconsistent plane but the compression clicker still clicks. Any clue what I am missing?

Here it is, the 22nd and still it hasn't been picked up by Fed Ex. Performance golf is trying to bill me for the videos as the free access was up last week, before they even shipped the club. This whole thing is fishy.

Since using your online coaching, I’ve dropped my score from a consistent 95-100 to not touching 90 in almost 2 years, I’ve been consistently 84-88. Hopefully this thing will help with some of my longer irons (I tend to still push long irons to the right)
Hi Eric This training aid looks really good contrary to most other. Question… my irons are lengthened with 1 inch as I’m 6,6 and upright by 1 degree. How will “straight stick” handle this? \\ Joachim
Thanks @Joachim! Its a great tool! For this first round you will not be able to change the length and lie (maybe in future versions) That said I don't see it causing many issues (we talked about that at length) but totally understand where you're coming from!
I got mine Sunday and I went from speed of 60 to 70ish in two days. I have one issue , it is me, I’m left handed and not as strong with right hand grip. I’m still losing the club at the top. What can I do to fix it. But I love this club
Love it Mark! are you saying you swing right handed but are left hand dominant? I would have to see your swing on video really to say for sure why you might be losing it at the top......because it could be several things. A lot of times if the trail hand literally comes off the club or space is created between hand and shaft the player is not MOVING THEIR BODY CORRECTLY (not enough turn/tilt/extension in backswing... so the arms/hands compensate by over folding/hinging. Again that's an educated guess without seeing video but hopefully that helps!

I have seen several reviews by several ordinary golfers. There are too many comments that it either always clicks no matter the swing or it never clicks no matter the swing speed or t settings. It may be a problem with the quality control of the magnets.

Hey Andy! Yessir! You can use whatever grip style you want (the ones you mentioned above).....we made sure of that. The key is the positioning of the hands on the club and the key pressure points of where the fingers are at. Plus we added in that feature that you can turn it based on what "strength" grip you like!

I got hit with a unknown monthly charge after buying something from performance golf. Was signed up to a trial to scratch golf for 1 month then charged after that was up, this was hidden deep in the fine print of my purchase. Was not impressed but got refunded immediately which all went smoothly. Buyer beware, read all the T&C’s when buying from performance golf!

Eric big fan. Unfortunately Straight Stick is a non value add. 12 handicap, can make it click every time. My kids as well. I’ve purchased the hanger and the precision impact (my favorite) but this new one falls short of your standard.
Hey Chris! Thanks for the feedback and sorry to head it disappointed. When you are swinging WITHOUT the ball I find it very effective to learn to get the click (assuming your speed is correct) WITH the ball its less about whether it clicks or not......and more about WHEN it clicks (at or just past impact) Hope that helps some! If not---made sure they gave a 100% money back guarantee so if you dont like just send it on back and they will refund all your money!
I'm surprised Eric is endorsing this. I have one and it releases (clicks) on terrible swings. Only thing it's good for is a weighted grip trainer. It's heavy and bulky and I can purposely flip through impact, Come over the top, and the thing clicks as if a good shot. Sending it back and getting a Lag Shot.
Appreciate the feedback and sorry to hear that! I wonder if the speed/setup is correct....in my testing getting the grip on correct and getting the feeling of the click past impact (whether it clicks on bad swings or not getting the TIME of the click) has been HUGE for players I tested with. Hey Ian! So that we dont have to move the cameras. If I didn't have on tee I would take a divot and have to constantly move the ball around which then would change the camera angles. I have done that in the past and its much less effective :) All the best
I ordered one of these and all good except that you have to decline like over 10 other offers before you can buy it but I still missed one offer that was in the small print that automatically charged me over $30/month that I never intended on paying for. The training aid seems legit but everything else with this seemed a bit scammy.
This product looks good and you have always put out great videos and endorse things that work but man as people have said this website is so BAD. Really is this to just confuse old timers or what. Plane mate , g box etc. you just buy the product and that’s it. I can only imagine most people won’t even read half the stuff then get suckered by the renewing payment of scratch golf. If anything please Eric have them remove that

@@CogornoGolf The whole design, manufacture process is the basis of the golf swing. I will do "this" and then in reality "this" doesn't allow for "that" and you cannot do without "that". Invention is just creating a process so a result can be achieved. Like, all the parts of a light globe exist, but in what order and in what ratios and in what design is the right one for it to work properly. Anyway, it is fascinating. I bought this because of you and Rocco. But the whole sales approach of this product is really cheesy. The whole “watch this video of Rocco while your username is created” was really a negative experience and dishonest. I believe the product is first class, but a lot of people will not buy this off of instagram as an example because it’s wayyyyy to much information to browse through before purchasing. Lit should be shortened by 60% minimum, and a more modern approach to graphics and information.

Hey John! No stress....you will find where you're at within a few swings just experimenting with it. Thats the beauty of it....others have asked as well when I was with them in person and never took more than 2-3 swings for them to find out :)
Hey Marvo! I can see your skeptical based on your multiple comments here----love it----I was too :) It wont click (no matter the speed) if the release timing isn't good. We tested this with literally hundreds of players and never took more than a few swings for them to learn where their swing speed was if they did not know. All good....skeptical is good. I was as well----thats why we went back and forth for over a year with engineers to perfect :)

I just got my Straight Stick - after some testing it doesn't appear to be true that the clicker won't click if you make a bad swing. I tested whether I can get it to click if I make myself swing on an obviously off-plane path [way too far inside to out, OR way too outside to in] AND I flipped the club head out in front of my hands purposely. Sorry to say this Eric, but in all of those cases I was able to get the clicker to click. Please advise if I am misunderstanding your presentation here where you say and demonstrate that the clicker will only click if you make a good compressive strike on the ball.
Hey Ted---this seems like an abnormality to me based on our testing. I would first start by confirming you are on the correct speed.
If you swing say 90mph and you are on 60mph its easier to get it to click with "bad" swings"
That said---it still SHOULD NOT be easy to click from poor spots. Can you confirm your speed setting is on correct?
@@CogornoGolf Good points Eric. Yeah, I was probably on too sensitive/low of a swing speed setting relative to my swing speed. PLUS I really had to force it to go fast with those bad swings in order to trigger the clicking action. To be fair to your product, I hadn't yet watched Rocco's video series on "Getting Started" with the Straight Stick before I did my own probably misguided testing to try to force the clicker to trigger with purposely forced ugly swings - for instance, Rocco has a video episode where he went over the clicker being triggered on bad swings that addresses my question here.

I am now on my second straight stick 7 iron. For the life of me I cannot get it to click on a practice swing period.
When I hit balls with the straight stick it doesn't matter how bad the swing is it does click. I purchased it to groove
a consistent swing on plane. So far it has done none of the advertised features. I am getting ready to send it back for a refund. Very disappointed.
Patience of the power. I call it the thrust in the swing. If you’re a bad golfer then you thrust way too early, with body shoulders arms etc trying to overpower the ball. I can see it when you use this the patience. It’s a hard thing to learn but if people could learn when it’s ok to apply these forces that would fix almost everything

Actually, you can make 1 of these for nearly no cost at all. All you need is a toilet paper roll or better, a piece of pvc that fits over the top of the grip that will slide easier. Just slide it over the grip until it reaches the shaft. You don't have to make full swings but rather only from waist high with the club parallel to the ground. All you have to do is be certain that it doesn't slide to the clubhead until after impact when your arms are straight. If it hits the clubhead before then, you know you released too early. You don't have to hit balls but you definitely could. Why spend $139 when you can make one for free or for a few dollars? Try this 1st & if it doesn't work, then spend the money to buy the straight stick if you choose.

Great question---when we tested we found it only would take a few swings of experimenting for someone to quickly learn their speed when using it so I dont think it should be an issue with a bit of experimenting if you dont already know ball park speed :)

Since using your online coaching, I’ve dropped my score from a consistent 95-100 to not touching 90 in almost 2 years, I’ve been consistently 84-88. Hopefully this thing will help with some of my longer irons (I tend to still push long irons to the right)

I got mine Sunday and I went from speed of 60 to 70ish in two days. I have one issue , it is me, I’m left handed and not as strong with right hand grip. I’m still losing the club at the top. What can I do to fix it. But I love this club

are you saying you swing right handed but are left hand dominant?
I would have to see your swing on video really to say for sure why you might be losing it at the top......because it could be several things.
A lot of times if the trail hand literally comes off the club or space is created between hand and shaft the player is not MOVING THEIR BODY CORRECTLY (not enough turn/tilt/extension in backswing...
so the arms/hands compensate by over folding/hinging.
Again that's an educated guess without seeing video but hopefully that helps!

I have seen several reviews by several ordinary golfers. There are too many comments that it either always clicks no matter the swing or it never clicks no matter the swing speed or t settings. It may be a problem with the quality control of the magnets.

You can use whatever grip style you want (the ones you mentioned above).....we made sure of that. The key is the positioning of the hands on the club and the key pressure points of where the fingers are at. Plus we added in that feature that you can turn it based on what "strength" grip you like!

I got hit with a unknown monthly charge after buying something from performance golf. Was signed up to a trial to scratch golf for 1 month then charged after that was up, this was hidden deep in the fine print of my purchase. Was not impressed but got refunded immediately which all went smoothly. Buyer beware, read all the T&C’s when buying from performance golf!

When you are swinging WITHOUT the ball I find it very effective to learn to get the click (assuming your speed is correct)
WITH the ball its less about whether it clicks or not......and more about WHEN it clicks (at or just past impact)

I'm surprised Eric is endorsing this. I have one and it releases (clicks) on terrible swings. Only thing it's good for is a weighted grip trainer. It's heavy and bulky and I can purposely flip through impact, Come over the top, and the thing clicks as if a good shot. Sending it back and getting a Lag Shot.
Appreciate the feedback and sorry to hear that! I wonder if the speed/setup is correct....in my testing getting the grip on correct and getting the feeling of the click past impact (whether it clicks on bad swings or not getting the TIME of the click) has been HUGE for players I tested with.

So that we dont have to move the cameras. If I didn't have on tee I would take a divot and have to constantly move the ball around which then would change the camera angles. I have done that in the past and its much less effective :)

I ordered one of these and all good except that you have to decline like over 10 other offers before you can buy it but I still missed one offer that was in the small print that automatically charged me over $30/month that I never intended on paying for. The training aid seems legit but everything else with this seemed a bit scammy.

@@CogornoGolf The whole design, manufacture process is the basis of the golf swing. I will do "this" and then in reality "this" doesn't allow for "that" and you cannot do without "that". Invention is just creating a process so a result can be achieved. Like, all the parts of a light globe exist, but in what order and in what ratios and in what design is the right one for it to work properly. Anyway, it is fascinating. I bought this because of you and Rocco. But the whole sales approach of this product is really cheesy. The whole “watch this video of Rocco while your username is created” was really a negative experience and dishonest. I believe the product is first class, but a lot of people will not buy this off of instagram as an example because it’s wayyyyy to much information to browse through before purchasing. Lit should be shortened by 60% minimum, and a more modern approach to graphics and information.

No stress....you will find where you're at within a few swings just experimenting with it. Thats the beauty of it....others have asked as well when I was with them in person and never took more than 2-3 swings for them to find out :)

It wont click (no matter the speed) if the release timing isn't good.
We tested this with literally hundreds of players and never took more than a few swings for them to learn where their swing speed was if they did not know.
All good....skeptical is good. I was as well----thats why we went back and forth for over a year with engineers to perfect :)
