    Your ability to give attention to filming a story while competing at the front of an Ultra always blows my mind. Kudos Josh!

    One of the Universe's great mysteries. How on Earth do these video's not get about 10 times the views. Truly inspirational, thank you.

    Thanks so much Josh and congratulations on finishing. As someone who scratched at Glasgow then toured Skye with less pressure, it was great to show my family what it was like (but I was way way behind you!).

    Thanks for a wonderful video, and a reminder of the beautiful parts of Scotland I never reached.
    My fear of hypothermia and a depression in Ayr finished me off . I admire all who finished ,and the strength of mind you had to push on, even with a painful knee.

    Great video. I saw George Hodgkinson at the Inverness rail station unsuccessfully trying to get a train with a bike reservation (with a few other riders as well). It was an absolute mess with all the cancelled trains. I was lucky to get out that Sunday. I had just finished a modest 3 day bikepack ride the same day and saw the riders were pretty wrecked. Now I see why! The Mallaig Bake House bakery is fantastic! Cheers!

    Well done Josh, great film. Such a shame you had to back off the gas having got so far in the race - but well done for carrying on to the end. I was on the PCR with you (216 - Edd Hunt), and though I didn’t see you on the race I think I must have been staying in Locharron Hotel the same night as you, but arrived later and left earlier. Nice people in there - made me a packed lunch instead of breakfast which was very kind

    Another awesome video it brought so many happy memories back of long rides in Scotland. BTW you can use a handlebar mount for your rear exposure light and it will put it in the correct orientation 👍.

      It was cool to see everyone out on the road. You don’t often get to see that from a usual mass start.

    Sorry about the knee dude this was such a wonderful watch your filming and narrative was just incredible (loved the food and native animals as well as spectacular scenery) and wow this route as per the other Pan Celtic races is next level. Heal up and big ups from Radelaide Australia

    Great ride Josh! Fascinating to see the same race from a different perspective. Mid-pack on the short route felt very different but still very tough! Although the Premier Inn had rooms when I finally got to Inverness 🙂

      Very jealous of the Premier Inn having rooms available and I’d definitely not call it the short route was still a rather long way.

    This is great josh thanks well done mate 🤙 Why start on the island with a TT thats go into the night? Stupid and then just throws all involved a spanner to get themselves out of a hole, stupid, everyone could of had a awesome daylight ride and rested the night to really get stuck into the rest of the hard enough bike ride

    • @huntos83
      @huntos83 Месяц назад +2

      Because there was a number of other events on that weekend in the IOM, including a national celebration, so it would have been carnage with over 300 PCR riders on the road as well. But also it’s in the nature of a lot of ultras to do things like this to add to the challenge, it’s not meant to be easy and it’s about pushing out of comfort zones. Same reason they also chuck in off road sections into what is supposed to be a road event.
      The Transcontinental also typically starts at night, which is a deliberate decision to make everyone experience night riding even if they don’t do it again for the rest of the race.

    The noisy music overrode the rider voices.
