- Hi! Thanks for watching this vlog! Decorating a room could be hard especially when you’re only renting it. Here’s one of a few ways on how you can decorate it and not damaging any part of your rented room/apartment.

Thanks for the tips. I just bought a tapestry and didn’t have any idea how to stick to wall. I tried Google and most suggest like a frame or hammer it on the wall with extra fabric on the back. I’m also renting.

I jus5 left Ireland after 11 years. I had a tapestey in my bedroom too, used 2 sided tape, but when I pulled it down, the tape took off some paint. I'm thinking of velcro too, just don't want to take the paint off this time. Nice video 😉

depending on what type of fabric your tapestry is, get the wrinkles out and when hung it will look much nicer. I have bought several tapestries that are made of polyester. While lightweight, it does like to hold onto wrinkles which are most likely there because of packaging that is often compressed for mailing. Polyester can be ruined easily if you don't do the research on how to get the wrinkles out without damaging it. A flat surface, a good flat iron with steam capabilities that is CLEAN so it does not "spit" and be sure the bottom is smooth for that it will not snag the material, use a clean cotton cloth , a pillow case is good, to put down on your polyester before you put your iron on it, have the iron set at a fairly low temp until you get good at doing this.....for really deep wrinkles, you can "spritz" if your iron does that, or use a spray bottle with clean and fresh water to LIGHTLY spritz over the deeper wrinkles. If it is a big piece, it can take time but will be so worth it when you hang it properly as it will be smooth with no distortions because of wrinkles. I like his idea of using velcro strips, easy enough and not expensive but be AWARE if your renting that velcro is pretty strong and it can pull of paint and or wallpaper, if your walls are not in great shape or are wallpapered, I would go with command strips. Tapestries are all over the internet, some are really beautiful so be sure to read the ratings and comments and check out comments with pictures from the buyers installation to see how it looks. The printing and other methods they have today are so much better than just a few years ago, so look for the really sharp colors and decent workmanship and then hang it correctly (minus the wrinkles) and no more boring!

Thanks for the tutorial. What kind of velcro did you use? How it is stick on the wall?
Sticky-backed velco. 3M Command strips would be a popular alternative. That's probably what I'll be using when my tapestries arrive (for a sloped wall, so top and bottom Command strips). But you can buy generic velcro "dots" or rolls to cut to size. Search for self-adhesive hook and loop dots or roll.

so this worked well for me. however a week later, the velcro strips attached to the cloth tapestry stopped sticking. any advice?
Powell DiGangi oh did u try to replace it with other adhesive velcro? mine’s been there since and never had to change it.
Maybe u shoul sew the Velcro to the tapestry (just a few stitches) and you’ll be fine

Two top corners on a piece of thin rope?
Use bluetack and stick it on wall then embed magnets into the bluetack. Get remainding magnets and connect it on the outside . Not the best but thats how i do it. Bluetack can be remove by gently rubbing it.
