is wood ear the same with black fungus or cloud ear mushroom?

The classification of the black wood ear fungus is controversial. Many nowadays classify it as a separate species (auricularia heimuer) from auricularia auricula-judea.

Welcome to the fascinating world of mushroom foraging! It's great to hear that you're studying the Amanita family, including the fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) and the panther cap (Amanita pantherina). Your cautious approach to identifying and studying these mushrooms is wise, especially avoiding the highly toxic death cap (Amanita phalloides). Observing, learning, and exploring in the forest is a wonderful way to deepen your understanding. Keep up the excellent work, and remember that safety comes first. Happy foraging!
