I too need my pens to be aesthetically beautiful. After all, I can functionally write with a Pilot G2. I'm attracted to fountain pens for their beauty. After spending a ridiculously long time; cleaning red ink from a pen; I've just decided that any pen that gets red toned ink, will forever remain a red ink pen. That way, I only have to do enough cleaning to maintain the integrity of the nib and feed. The variety of the PM resins, can be quite frustrating for the consumer unless you can select your pen in person. I have one PM4 that I'm not in love with because it has a lot of red clay color in it and the colors are all meshed together. I prefer the PM's that are separated by bands of white. I love the leaf shaped ink samples in your journal. Enjoying your video with my morning coffee, before heading out to work. Hope you have an amazing day.
Exactly!! You know the drill xD I love how you phrased that! We definitely wouldn't be writing with fountain pens for its functional purposes if we already had G2s and other rollerballs. I also do that with some pens where i know I'm about to put a similar ink color into it where i just clean it out enough. The leaf shapes are from leaves stamps and i just used black ink to punch them into my journal back in October xD I do love how they turned out. I'm happy you were able to watch it before you headed off to work Teresa! Thanks so much for watching ❤️
I have the same autumn drizzle in medium and I have yama budo in my collection. I'm going to try this combo in my pen next month! Your reviews are always so helpful and your videos are always enjoyable to watch.
♥I'm happy to hear the reviews are helpful for you! Hopefully others enjoy it, too. Autumn Drizzle and Yama-budo was an amazing first combo for this pen and you will definitely love it!
You really made me thinking... because you mentioned it so many times: picking up a pen should sparkle joy. I didn't want to admit it to myself at first but you're absolutely right. And I will perhaps change my wishlist a bit ☺️ And I don't like the Twsbi ALR grip section and bought a spare nib unit and now it has the not-so-pretty plastic section
xD That not-so-pretty plastic section is also kinda slippery for me, too. Me and my dry hands!! And yeahhh!! The pen's aesthetic is so important for each individual because we all like different things (and a lot of times, the same things, too!). Glad to see it encourage you to curate your wishlist even more ^_^
@@KenchanKrafts ah I see what you mean. I have dry hands too but for my the grooves made my fingers hurt a bit. I don’t know if it’s a good thing that I overthink too much- the pretty sparkly Leonardos aren’t the cheapest but so so pretty!! I know you have a few in your collection that I would buy immediately (of course they are US exclusives 🫤😅)
I have the Foresta Umbra and Rangoli too, and love both of them. I'm 99% sure I found out about the Rangoli from your video, and I had to have that beautiful color pattern! As soon as I write my Rangoli dry, I'm refilling it with Pilot Murasaki for a change of pace. It's been exclusively filled with Yama-Budo since I got it.
:D I was so happy to see a few folks buy the Rangoli and Foresta Umbra after I posted my review of them. Definitely two amazing Leonardo exclusives of 2023. Murasaki Shikibu is definitely a different vibe from Yama-budo. Can't wait to see how you enjoy it!!
Lovely pens as always. I’m looking forward to getting some non work done soon, I think I’d really like to try the CSI grind on my WalltownPens onslow, maybe tuning on my Hana shobu VP and winter rain. 🤞🏽 thanks for sharing.
Yes!!! Tune that VP to be your perfect pen! Also the CSI will do great on steel nibs, as my visconti is so soft lolol. Will you be at the Chicago pen show for those grinds? XD
Another amazing video! You are the reason I started collecting Leonardo fountain pens and now I’m hooked:). If in the future you ever decide to sell or trade your Rangoli I would be very interested because I missed out on it and it hurts lol. Anyways keep being awesome and I look forward to more collecting videos.
Hey Thomas! Thanks so much for your words! This would definitely be a hard one to let go of, I think I will need to replace it with another PM4 in a gold trim - so if that day ever happens, I'll let you know ^_^ So happy to hear you got into Leonardos through me XD Such an honor to bring friends into the Leo family :) What's your current favorites in your collection if you have more than one? And yes, do keep looking forward to seeing more collection videos! I will definitely do a Leo only collection video, soon!
@@KenchanKrafts I would say my favorites currently are my Momento zero grande PM1 14 k. I love the pattern on it it’s so gorgeous and also my Momento magico galaxy prime is definitely one of my favorites as well. I just ordered a Blue Aloha momento zero and I pre ordered a Momento Zero Golden Abalone from Atlas Stationeers and I’m stoked for both to arrive.:)
@@Thomas94042 you had better have used an affiliates discount code on that atlas Leonardo to save 10% ^_^ that’s a beautiful Leonardo indeed! 14k Leonardo nibs are so lovely, you got some great ones there and more to come :D
@@KenchanKrafts just made a new purchase:) I went with a Leonardo Gallatica Universe. I emailed Appelboom and they are going to send me a few different pictures so I can decide on a resin I would particularly like. Super stoked:).
Totally! But i don't have one yet xD i cannot definitely say that but I can definitely agree! 823 has a superb nib. If i can swap that nib into a platinum or sailor body that i enjoy, oooh the joys that would give me.
