I found your channel this weekend while searching for ideas for some winter fabric I have. Ordered an advent calendar and it shipped today! Excited to follow along once it arrives.
The instructions on the card say to line up the long side. From the picture I thought you were referring to the other corners. So my blocks came out too small. Now I have to remake them
Hi Cynthia! I'm sorry there was confusion. I have my patterns tested by at least 2 pattern testers, and I make them myself (blocks 1-12 I make at least twice). For these Advent Calendar patterns, I also make a step-by-step video to walk you through making the block. ❤️ Maybe watching the video before making the block will help?
@@CarolinaMooreI have watched this video several times but can’t figure out what you are referring to in terms of lining up the triangles. Maybe your testers understood this concept? I have not done this before.
It is never too late (until they are sold out). We still have them in stock, a d you can order now. They won't ship until Monday, though. I'm currently in Texas at the Stitchin Heaven Expo, and will ship when I get back.
She says it in the beginning. 4 x 6 finished Did you get the templates? I ordered mine last week, so haven’t seen it irl. Wondering if there is a pattern with details like that.
If you ordered last week, it should be arriving soon... I tried to expedite the shipping on all the last-minute orders. So folks wouldn't have to wait too long. 🥰
You continually refer to the daily project as an ADVENT. Please don't. Advent is a period of time or event when Christians await, prepare, or anticipate the birth of Jesus. When used as "Advent Calendar," it is a modern, popular daily calendar with special gifts or activities from December 1st thru the 25, Christmas day.
Hi there! English is a "living language," which means it is constantly evolving. I'm using the term as we do in modern language. Similarly, many traditions evolve. Folks who don't attend church still celebrate Christmas. Though it is known that it is the celebration of Jesus's birth, they may choose to celebrate with a tree, stockings, gifts, and Santa Claus, but no nativity scene. 🤷♀️ I choose not to police how others celebrate, as it would suck my own joy out of this season. And possibly theirs as well. That would be a true tragedy. As all of these videos were pre-recorded back in August, I have no ability to change them. If my language it troublesome for you, the only option would be for you not to watch them. Wishing you a season of love and joy. ❤️
Sooooooo picky!!!!! Sooooooo literal!!!! Give us all a break- if you don't like these wonderful videos- don't watch them! For me- they are interesting. And even though I have likely been quilting longer than her- I can always learn a new trick if my mind is open to it!❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you Caroline!
@RuthK-b5i Hi Ruth... I know I look young, but I made my first bed-sized quilt 32 years ago (33 in February). ❤️ But I agree... we all know different things, and I have even learned from folks who have just picked up the hobby! 😍
Day 1 is done! Love the fabric. Thanks for doing this advent. Looks like it will be fun.
Yay!! ❤️❤️❤️

Yay!! We're shipping them out as fast as we can, and expediting shipping whenever possible. ❤️
This is my first year doing your mini quilt - a friend told me about it and I am excited - enjoyed day 1 - see you tomorrow!
Yay! Welcome! 🥰
Excited to start but I wish your video was closer when you were showing the lining up. I don’t totally understand.
I also would love a closeup of just this concept. I haven’t done half rectangle triangles before so I can’t see where to line it up.
Fun idea!
Thanks! This is the 4th year, it is one of my favorite things! 🥰
Love your videos!
I must know… where are the cars driving to?! 😆 😉

Super cute. I see you use only AG fabrics. One of my fabric choices too.
Yup! I'm the AGF "Sewlebrity," so I only sew with their fabric. ❤️
is it too late to start with the advent calendar?

What did you do to prepare the fabric? It looks like it has been well starched. Is that necessary?
I starch any fabric that isn't precut. It is a personal preference, but I think it gives me a better result. ❤️
Apparently I don’t get the secret on lining it up….
I can do a short video if it helps? Let me know where you're having trouble?
I think drawing the 1/4” stitch line and putting a pin in where they cross might be helpful?
@daxxydog5777 I see how that visual would absolutely be helpful! 🥰
Wish I were able to follow along! I LOVE this AGF line! So beautiful! Can’t wait to see all the mini quilts🌲🧵
I think I did it… this time I did have as much of a dog ear sticking out!
It appears rectangular!
Oh my! Thank you 😊
What is the finished size … I think I didn’t line it up correctly….
She says it in the beginning.
4 x 6 finished

Finished size is 4x6. So, it should square up to 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".
thanks…. I think I got it now. 😅
oh thank you!!!
