Hello, that's right. When you release the handle all the way, it is in the "road" gear, when pressed about halfway, it is in the "neutral" position, and when fully tightened, it is in the "mountain" gear. This is how it is described in the original service book. I have 2 bikes with an FM38 engine, and despite their small size, they are a lot of fun! Regards!
@@JUPIJIOP mine shold have some problem , engage the 1st and 2nd but dont go to neutral. I had disasemble and assembled again the motor and problm stays. Any tip?
@@zezitolx there may be a spring on the top of the engine that pulls back the gear shift rod and thus tightens the cable that goes to the gear lever, the second spring is mounted in the gear cable tensioner at the engine cylinder and eliminates the slack in the cable and "softens" the gear change. Both are necessary for the correct operation of the gearbox.
