- Funan, or Nokor Phnom, was the first Khmer empire that existed from the 1st century to the 6th century before its collapse. Internal conflicts and power struggles weakened this great empire. The Phnom or Funan empire lasted for over 600 years before a new empire emerged. Sadly, there is always conflict among their own people. However, it allows the external to take advantage, conquer for land grabs, and expand their territories.
Likewise during Pol Pot disturbances there’s external neighboring were taking over invading into Cambodia land and imposter as well pretending to be Khmers people .
Greatful for Khmer history n I never knew about that before n I didn’t knew what was happening before thankful ( because all old history was gone n I’m new generation 💙💚💝

I am quite confused about the record of this historian. I though the Song Dynasty was from the post collapsed of the Tang Dynasty in the early 900 CE. The book of Liang recorded that Funan did established diplomatic relation with the Sui Dynasty and the Sui Dynasty was before the Tang Dynasty.
The Khmer has weak united, that's why they had been teared apart by external leading to the fall of their Khmer empire.
