to be definitively efficient against rust, you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body, cavities - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic).
