The real fans are in the upper arena. They can’t afford the lower bowl, but those people probably got to go to one game this year, and caught every single other one on ESPN
I've sit in multiple lowers, and then went cheaper in the lower section of top over the years. I definitely prefer the people in the upper over the lower.
As a UK fan I have been to a few home games and a few away UK games and the best Kentucky crowds are not at home, they are in Nashville during SEC tourney or a close neutral site.... The season ticket holders that sit in lower section ( not all, but a lot) just come to sit and watch a game and clap when they do well and that's about it..... That needs to be addressed if UK wants Auburn type crowds, otherwise it will never change
Reading through some these comments and I just think to myself… what would Mark Pope do? I just hope my Big Blue Brethren would look to his guidance and wisdom and it’s really pulling at my heart strings this morning. It’s almost as if this sit stand thing was some sort of infiltration from the enemy some type of sinister subterfuge. They always said they try and find your weakness and attack you when you’re at your best just to bring you back down and well by god I for one won’t stand for it. I won’t sit for it either. But I will say this… GO CATS!!!!
If you want to stay on your ass, just stay on the couch. The players deserve the best possible environment. Rupp is not close to Allen Fieldhouse or Cameron because of the blue hairs.
right, the person paid for their ticket, their spot, if they want to stand they can stand. if you want not be blocked, by yourself a closer ticket. its no coincidence that neutral site games are a way better environment than Rupp is
Teams that are quad 2 in our conference right now like Arkansas could very well be a quad 1 by the time we play them. It's hard to know right now. It wouldn't shock me if all of the SEC is quad 1 when we play them. Or it could go the other way and we have less quad 1 opportunities than we expect, because we'll all be beating up on each other in conference play.
I prefer to stand but I don’t think there is any science that supports a person is louder or more engaged when standing vs sitting. I’ve been very loud sitting. I’ve been very loud standing. let’s just be really loud Anne hard regardless of posture.
@@jasonomer346if somebody says something politely maybe you could take that into account and try and be civil with each other at least. On both sides of the argument. Really on the fence over sit vs stand. But Rupp is a family environment and there’s always tons of kids there. If you are in front of a little kid maybe just sit down. You can still be loud and cause a ruckus and get up when everybody else is but ain’t no way I can get my kid to stand up for that long and by god I can’t hold the heavy ol thing for that long. As much as we want Rupp to be this hostile environment with peoples standing up going nuts the whole game that’s just not what it is and what it lacks in hostility it makes up for in size and it gets loud when everybody’s cheering I just wish fans could understand just a little bit better to know when the situation calls for getting a little bit loud cause I don’t think they do it often enough but I reckon most folk are casual and can’t sense some of the finer intricacies of momentum. In short stand up when ya ont to cause a little ruckus but be mindful of those around ya and the same goes for those folk who want to sit give the standing folk a chance to stand up and get edited long as they don’t over do it. Y’all’s just gone have to be polite and come to a balance.
If you want to sit, then come to Brown or Colgate or Western Kentucky. Don’t come to a rivalry game and be surprised when people want to stand and cheer on their team. It’s not polite and frankly rude to other people to demand that they should sit down because you want to. It’s a rivalry game. Get up or get out.
@ I’d like to hear what Mark Pope’s thoughts are. A one sided set in stone philosophy is rarely the right answer. Act like that with the Louisville fans, us Cats gotta stick together just like this group of young men wearing the jerseys leaving their blood and sweat on the hardwood. I’m telling y’all to get loud, I don’t think enough people are loud enough of the time. I never said don’t sit and I’m not gonna say don’t stand. All I’m saying is use some judgement just like with anything but that seems to be a big problem for a large portion of folk anymore. Hell if y’all ain’t arguing about calamari or politics y’all are getting worked up with each other over sitting and standing. It’s silly. People need to act like they got some sense with each other. Unless you’re a puke fan or hog lover. Give the other guys hell. If I had to guess I’d say both parties were probably a little out of line, that’s usually how it happens in my life experience anyway. But what do I know I’m just an old man so do what you like.
@ I’ll tell ya another thing I guarandamntee ya I’d drink as many cold beers and get just as loud and rowdy as anybody in there sitting down just as well as I would standing up. There ain’t no right answer and when there ain’t no right answer you gotta make compromises or you’ll just wait until administration does something about it and that won’t be good for no one and that’s how life goes. I said by god we’d never get away with having nothing nice like that cause on the count of people can’t be respectful here and that’s just the way it is.

@ let me ask you this, me and my sweet little innocent child, little 8 year old Angel…loves her cats…if we’s sitting behind you and you wanted to stand up the whole time and she couldn’t see and you was directly one row in front…would you switch seats knowing that everybody would be happy and we’d all enjoy the game and nobody would bother nobody…. Would you be willing to do that?
@ That’s a moronic, illogical argument. One could equally say stay home if you want to stand. You don’t have the right to stand and block the person behind you. Period, end of story.

The science behind standing vs. Sitting is easy. If you're an opponent, seeing fans standing is more of a distraction than sitting.

I bet the blue hairs have donated 10 times more 💲 to UK than you'll ever think about
I’m class of 76. This team still looks like a Championship team. Mark it down.
Arkansas 76 and Kentucky 68..in February
UK has a problem executing if first set on offense isn't successful and their defense isnt that great
I’m class of 74 and saw games at the colosseum and that building rocked during a Tennessee or Vandy game much more imposing atmosphere to Rupp.
Vandy, huh? 🤔

That seems really unlikely.
The easy part of their schedule is over and they didn’t exactly impress
@@jasonomer346 I agree entirely. They seem to be (super gradually) picking up steam. IDK just a weird gut feeling I have.
