Dan called it the Gadouken, literally meaning "strong motion fist", which is ironic since it is not strong in the first place.
Everyone has their opinion about this game. Personality I love it. It was the very first VS game I've ever played and had so much fun.
I think it's pretty fun as a fighting game in it's own right, I just hate how literally EVERYTHING was just copied and pasted from Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men Vs. Street Fighter. Cyber Akuma is the only exception but he's pretty much just regular Shin Akuma's moveset with a bunch of stuff traced over his sprite.
MattManDX1 When this is your first Marvel VS game, you don't care about stuff being derivative and/or outright copied; instead, for you, it *becomes* the original. I know this from first-hand experience, and I wish that more people looked at videogames like this one as they are, instead of constantly assessing them in relation to their prequels, sequels, and similar games overall, before anything else. Novelty isn't everything.
Same dude. As a kid back in LA, I always wanted to play SFA2 when I saw its Attraction Mode in a laundromat. The Ryu and Ken Hadouken in that intro got my attention. But when you have parents that didn't want you to spend quarters on arcade cabinets, I didn't get to play it. Then during my high school years here in Chicago I saw a MSHvsSF arcade cabinet in a card shop and began to use my quarters for this game. I dedicated a lot of my afterschool days on this and this game holds a special place in my heart. The Crossover Combos, the music, the announcer. This game was what made me delve deeper into fighting games.
Today, I have a CFW PSP with an arcade emulator and play this as much as I can. Even some of my coworkers enjoy playing this game a lot.

Her Uppercut is Sakura's best move in this game and it's not even close. To see Max do it almost never during the play through was like playing with a handicap.

Still one of my favorite VS series games, i swear its overlooked. The amount of time i spent playing this and Tekken 3 at a Walmart by my old house as a kid is crazy. I probably made them more money than people who shopped there on a daily basis,lol.
Max must be playing too much MvC Infinite. I never had this much trouble beating Cyber-Akuma with the Sakura/Dark Sakura team.
That ending is great though. A teenage Japanese girl taking down Apocalypse by herself with martial arts. Not even Cable could pull that off in the comic books!
to be fair, sakura is the strongest street fighter next to cody. Apocalypse should be grateful that man didnt take his cuffs off and punch him into atomic particles.

she learned both the shoryuken and the hadoken simply by watching ken and ryu spar, her only weakness is unlike ryu, she doesnt constantly train. Shes beaten Karin, who uses an ancient martial arts style that rivals Oro's and Oro is considered the strongest street fighter character considering he can body everyone with only one hand and if he ever used his other hand he would basically kill everyone. Wich is why he ties one hand behind his back.

I actually didn't even main Sakura in Marvel vs Street Fighter (My main was Captain America) but I did take the time to learn as much as I could about every character by playing as them through the Arcade mode and beating Cyber-Akuma at the end. Sakura's not the strongest character in this game. (I feel that she was in Pocket Fighter though)

i just realized something about Ryu. he's much in some ways like Goku from Dragon Ball Z. Why you might ask?:
1. Both Ryu and Goku are always devoting their time each and everyday to train themselves constantly in order to get stronger and fight other strong fighters.
2. Both Ryu and Goku rarely spend time with their love ones because of what i said in #1 (yup, i'm calling the SakuRyu Ship because of Sakura's ending in this game, come fight me bros.).

Ryu is different from Goku, like Goku's evil side isn't even present at all during any of their times after the bump on the head.....also Ryu has no loved ones. Try again with better info next time chum :)
There are some mangas for Sakura that they were made by Capcom that shows her that she got married with Ryu and they have some kind of dojo which means in certain canons they are actually a couple.

I never played fighting games after SF2 so my knowledge is very limited on characters of any series and on moves and well, everything. I found your channel thanks to your Dragon Ball FighterZ coverage and I've been watching videos like these here and there. I'm starting to love this stuff a whole hell of a lot, though I don't know what to get as a good modern fighting game. Does this community have any suggestions? I have a PS4. P.s. I played a lot of Sakura vs. CPU on breaks in the old mall arcade back in the late 90s. The trick to landing her Shun Goku Satsu on a computer is to grab them with regular choke throw, then level 3 them as they stand up into it. Also, while Dark Sakura's Shinkuu Hadoken might be weak, one of her other two supers (I think Midare Zakura, might be Haru Ichiban) does some ridiculous damage.

It is possible to give Cyber Akuma a shun goku satsu, trust me.
I've never realized how much MvC1 looks like this game. From the artwork to the character select to the boss (Apocalypse).
Dark Angel Rafael well marvel vs capcom 1 did use the same number sprites and artwork from this game.
Not sure if it's nostalgia but damn the soundtracks in this game just feel way better to me than the ones from the last few games. They are just so hype and energetic.
