    You have taught me so much Aidin. Just appreciate how much of your knowledge that you share. Your insights are like the layers of an onion... so much depth. So with that.. I have been dreaming for months of a video we would create from the Redwoods in Northern Cali... finally had that chance, and your fingerprints are all over our work. I hope that you can feel the weight of our compliment, and find it an honor that you have influenced our work so positively. It’s an honor to learn from you. Can’t thank you enough man.

    Hue vs. Luma is an excellent tool but its also the most destructive of the HSL curves if not used properly. Keep your anchors wide and be careful pushing it too far with 8 bit footage.

      agree. hue vs luma will be banding color in 8 bit footage. I used sony zve10 btw

    Awesome my color grading has already benefitted from your other xolor grading videos so I'm stoked to add this to my arsenal! It's surprising how much you can rescue a shot and make it beautiful with the curves and hsl

    As always, you produce excellent informative tutorials and insight into you work. Very inspiring. I’m a DaVinci Resolve user and while I’m no pro and still learning, I started using HVL about 6 months ago. I find it great to darken straw coloured dry grass, and control the red/orange of clothing, footwear etc. - keep up the great work.

    The hue vs luma is a very powerfull for color the problem is that if use it too much on a 8bit codec is going to create some crazy artifact that make the footage impossible to use, but if used on 10bit or more is awesome

    I'm always tweaking the hue vs Luma control, coming from a photography background I'm used to adjusting colour luminosity in Lightroom so it felt natural to apply the same method to video. Reducing luminosity on foliage is something I do often.

    • @flosamus
      @flosamus 2 года назад +1

      I was about to say the same thing - coming from photography and retouching - it was one of the first things I went to, after basic adjustments. HSL is so much more flexible in Premiere than in Lightroom, yet also so much more temperamental and less forgiving. I found it takes a bit of time to adjust.
