I trying to push Karma on a project I'm using now. It's fantastic! Also great to see another user that likes to take Suzanne into Houdini! Turns a few heads for sure. Also if you don't want to have a random noise pattern you can put husk --lock-random 0 into the Render Command on the USD Render Rop. Makes it easier to denoise in post sometimes if you don't want to trust the renderer to do it.
I love Karma. Using it exclusively since many months. Did the noises you are using stick to the geo? Normally, with deforming geometry, you would either need a Mtlx Position node (which grabs your UVs) or need to bring in your UVs with a Geometry Property Value. Either one needs then to be piped into Position. Same for Mtlx Image. The way you are scaling textures and noises in Karma is with a Mtlx Multiply piped between the Mtlx Position or Geometry Property Value und the Mitlx Image or Noise node (aka. before going into Position). Do the same for offset with a Mtlx Add node, and Mtlx Rotate 2D for rotation. ☺ Hope this helps.
@@philippwelsing9108 aw thank you! That's super helpful! Yea I think the noises sticked to the geo because I either mapped them to the UVs, or I prepared the @rest attribute for the 3D noises' texture reference. Super great insight on how to control the position and mapping with mtlx! There's got to be a way to pin this comment somehow ya? I'll be coming back to this when I'm stuck.
@@RonaldFong One issue to consider for Karma is that there is no GPU support on Mac, whereas Redshift is very fast on Mac and Windows using GPU on either. Thanks for the great tutorials.

@@KevRyanCG ooo! Great tip there! I'll try it the next time I run into noise issues!
KARMA!!
@@claudioparra1018 you bet it is!
Super helpful to see both the Redshift and Karma (and MaterialX) setups. Thank you! 🙏
@@amaruqiI learned a lot from this too! thank you! What's one thing you feel I can touch more on?
It's a very important content, many tutors about Redshift, but Karma is base now) Thanks for video)
@@mityasoul5709 yes! Many of you have commented about having karma tutorials! I'm glad I did this! Thanks!

@RonaldFong Super glad it's helpful. 😍🤝
I am facing the same issue for the Bloom Tutorial have created the simulation but don't have the Red Shift License.
@@jojokooku thanks for sharing! I'm hoping this video will help!
@@RonaldFong yeah really
For real no need for redshift with Houdini anymore.
@@4Mohd yea! It is seems like a very stable production renderer!
