They uploaded a solid live of "Pardon Me" yesterday. Usually their lives are not professionally recorded but this seems to have been! Hopefully a sign of more to come. 花冷え。:お先に失礼します。(Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now) - LIVE AT LIQUIDROOM
The live video thing is that they just haven't done a live dvd, so they haven't had well-mixed recordings from the board to release, so all the live videos have been fan-cams. They did, however, just release a high-quality live version of Pardon Me (I have to go now) on their RUclips channel a few days ago. By the way, "Harajuku-core" is a word they came up with themselves. Harajuku is a district in Tokyo that is known as a center of youth culture and fashion and where a lot of the Gyaru fashion that Hanabie themselves promote comes from. So the name refers to the blend of Harajuku aesthetics with metalcore music.
Yukina - Main Vocalist (Scream/Rapping/Anime Voice) Matsuri - Guitarist/Lead Vocalist (Clean) Hettsu - Bassist (She got Sub Vocalist on this song) Sae - Drummer Hanabie change drummer 3 times, Boa (original drummer before debut), Sae (2018-2023) and Chika (2023-Now) My first peak is "Osaki Ni Shitsurei Shimasu (Pardon me, i have to go now)" Hanabie called their genre "Harajuku-Core" (it's like Babymetal start new genre Kawaii Metal) Hanabie have released new song now, you can check it out.
Hanabi = fireworks (literally "fire flowers"). Hanabie = cold spring weather (literally "frozen flowers"). It's alluding to when there's a late spring chill, after the cherry blossoms have bloomed, and you get frost on the flowers.
Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 People ignore “LOVE Ranbu” because there’s no video, but it’s one of their best tracks. Well worth a listen, at least. If you’d like to hear a 100% authentic BABYMETAL style band, try Mellows - “Secret Closet” makes the point - they’re Hanabie quality too.
Hanabie often translates as "Cold Flowers." (hana = flowers, bie = cold) It refers to the time in Spring when the flowers are starting to bloom but it is still cold outside. Or more generally Springtime weather. Hanabi translates as "fireworks" or "fire flower." (hana = flowers, bi = fire)
If a few years ago someone would have told me that I would be learning a bit Japanese "on the go" just because I am a metalhead, I would have laughed at him. Now two thirds of my Metal playlist are from Japan, all-female bands (LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie, Hagane). "Arigató!" Life is full of surprises. 😊 DE/GER
As far as I know there are only three live videos that are professionally recorded. One of them is Reiwa Dating Apps Generation. You should check out the live or music video, because it's a cool video. I have heard nothing but good things about their live performances.
Every Hanabie songs are awesome but my personal favourites are (besides that two you just listened): "Be the Gal - Early Summer version" - really fun song, reminds me of Electric Callboy, "Reiwa Dating Apps Generation" - a lot of rapping, even by Matsuri, "Otaku Lovely Densetsu" and really underrated and unfortunately without MV - "Genkai Numa Life" with really interesting piano sample.
If you want some more rap influenced Harajukucore then try 'Reiwa Dating Apps Generation' next. Both Matsuri and Yukina go off in that one. Or you can go in a different direction and try 'Envy' for some hardcore punk style. Perhaps go with 'NEET GAME' which brings lots of electronic chiptune elements. It's one big diverse adventure with this band. Thanks for reacting to more Hanabie.
Also check out Broken By The Scream if you like Hanabie. They are a four member idol group who do clean and harsh vocals, with an excellent three-piece backing band. Their style is a combination of metalcore and pop elements. Shingeki (full Japanese name 神激(神使轟く、激情の如く。) is also a great metal idol group with a unique style, their recent music video is called Noctiluca (ノクチルカ). Highly recommended.
😅"Hahahahaha!! Yes" hanabie of having a very greatest party 🥳 time of very sweet tasty 😋 alcohol 🍸 drinks with her loyal fan members!!😋 Before a perfectly 🥰 live concert song event!! ( We dig 😎defatica!!😎 ) my great inspiring message for today!! Have a very impressive beautiful.🎃😍❤ day.🎃😍❤
For Hanabie you could do TOUSOU, NEET GAME, BE THE GAL, OTAKU next. They have a lot of other awesome songs but without mvs. I think you would really get a kick out of Broken By The Scream. They are a group kinda setup like Babymetal, but heavier than Hanabie. Also Japanese. Broken By The Scream -Sayonara Birthday mv ruclips.net/video/Q8qOH-f6doM/видео.html
Japanese metal now rules over this entire planet, there’s still so much to see for Hanabie but you might want to also add in Nemophila who are just as hard and as talented as Hanabie. And also like Hanabie and Band Maid they are all female and talented in ways that I can’t explain.
Excellent reaction. Next japonese female band, i propose BRIDEAR with the song STILL BURNING. massive drums and Harsh/ Growl by the bassist. BRIDEAR was found in 2012. In this MV the crew is from tougher since 2022. KIMI lead vocals ( founder, since 2012) Red hair. HARU bassist clear backing vocals, harsh vocal & growl ( founder, since 2012) blond. NATSUMI on drums ( since 2019) dark hair with blonde in the end of her hair. AYUMI lead Guitar and backing vocals ( since 2019) -hair cut turquoise in the end of her hair. MOE lead Guitar ( since 2022) hair styles half blond/ half dark. AYUMI AND MOE for a duet of guitar cover name THE SUKIYAKI SISTERS.
Yes she is. That was their former drummer (although really good indeed), who left for personal reasons (as far as I know). Their _current_ drummer "Chika" is _world class_ .
Hey bro, I'm from Brazil, I saw a lot of your reactions from babymetal and other bands, I became a real fan of your reactions, I hope you keep posting and reacting to more videos (By the way, are there subtitles on Patreon? in English)
OK so with regards to the inevitable kawaii metal / harajuku core discussion I'm simply gonna drop here an excerpt from a JP interview from about year and a half ago. TL;DR: they are not a kawaii metal band. Now here's the long version: - First of all, why do you call it "Harajuku Core"? Matsuri: That's the name given to our music by our overseas fans. - Oh, I see. Matsuri: I think it's hard to categorize Hanabie's songs as a specific genre. That's why probably when that person wanted to give it some genre name, they called it "Harajukucore", since our sound resembles both hardcore and metalcore. When we saw it, we thought "That's actually great!" and began using it ourselves (laughs). Yukina: There is no such thing as loud rock overseas. We are consciously aiming to make loud rock and mixture rock songs, but if we can't get across, they will just think it's metal. Which for us is like... "Metal is fine, but...". I think it's good that we created "Harajuku Core", because being its own thing helps bridge that gap in perception. Hettsu: I think that Harajuku's fashion sense of anything goes, that kind of feeling, suits Hanabie. Harajuku embraces all the ideas and all the trends, doesn't it? And that's what we do with our music. - So, "Harajuku Core" applies equally to your image and your music? Matsuri: Indeed. I think it would probably be quite a shock to people from overseas. - Overseas they call you metal, yet in Japan hardly anyone will consider Hanabie to be a metal band. But I think that's what's leading to Hanabie's current popularity overseas. There's no such thing as loud rock over there, so they just call it all metal, and in your case that actually might be a strength. Yukina: It probably makes it easier for people to accept us. Matsuri: I think people will find Harajuku Core to be something new.
Very silly discussion. People in Japan describe things differently than in America. I always hated the labels in music anyways. We don't need 1000 types of metal. I'd be fine with just calling everything rock.
@@KenjaTimu If it matters to the band it matters to me. It was brought up by the reactor, so I thought it best to hear it from the horse's mouth. People who don't care about genre can keep doing so without complaining that others do. Yes people in Japan describe things differently and their system is (c)leaner. Like is there even an article or post by a Western specialized media nowadays that doesn't get people arguing "is it real metal" in the comments? Now that's what's actually silly and this discussion here touches upon why it's happening.
It's my other favorite band! (No really...I have a Hanabie/Babymetal playlist on Spotify .I'm weird, I know). Good ones to look for next: "Tousou", "Be the Gal" (those fill in a bit of what happened to the boss in "Pardon Me"), "Reiwa Dating Apps Gen", "Otaku Lovely Densetsu", I could go on. You can't really find a bad one.
Hello, I'm using a translator. I'm from Chile. First of all, very good pronunciation this time, Hanabi-Eh. Did you notice that not a single section of the song was repeated from start to finish? In most Hanabie songs, Yukina does the cute and harsh vocals while Matsuri does the clean vocals. In this song, the bassist Hettsu also had a vocal part (right before the blue-haired Matsuri). Not only are this and Pardon Me very different, most Hanabie songs are very different from each other. Since you showed a lot of interest in the rap part, you should watch the music video for REIWA Dating App Generation, which has the largest rap portion of all Hanabie songs. If you want to learn the names of the band members (including the current drummer Chika) better, the MV for OTAKU Lovely Densetsu is very suitable, as all the members are introduced by name. The song is of course also very good and again very, very different from the two you know. A few days ago Hanabie released an official live video of Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now on RUclips, and their new EP BUCCHIGIRI TOKYO will be released on Wednesday.
Not really Kawaii-metal, as they are more concentrated on the sound versus the look. They started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band in high school, and that style of musical styling has served them well. You can hear the MtH influence in everything they do.
The problem is that you try to pronounce it in English. English has a strange pronunciation that is not compatible with most other languages that use romani characters. For Japanese romanization you shall pronounce all characters in a standardized way, and it is NOT the English way. Therefore both i and e shall bee pronounced, like ee-eh. One major problem with English spelling is that almost all vowels are wrong. The standard way of pronouncing vowels are a - like in hard e - like in hedgehog i - like in Jeep o - like in room u - I do not think English speaking can say this at all y - I do not think English speaking can say this at all Swedish, German, Spanish and most languages can pronounce romanization correct. I do not thing French can, and, of course, not English.
There are quite a few all-female metal bands in Japan, but none of them can hold a candle to Hanabie. For a similar level of creativity, you have to listen to Maximum The Hormone. The next Hanabie song I recommend is the early pearl L.C.G (Lollypop Candy Girl), which once again has a lot of things perfectly combined with each other, including a little bit of rap. Oh yes, perfect pronunciation.
I think people pronounce Hanabie worse after being told it's not hanabee. It makes sense if you hear how they say it. Or know Japanese. I wish people would stop saying that in the comments.
Their name is not difficult to speak correctly. Reactors just have to care. The band herself dropped a short video where they say their band name themselves, but many reactors do not do some basic research before they watch a video, so they enjoy "Hannah Bye".
@jawosammadennhier7062 who cares? Japanese people mispronounce English all the time. They use English words incorrectly. Hanabie does that too. I don't get mad about that.
Indeed. And the next Japanese all-female super-band already formed: Hágane. Their current EP "Life goes on!" is a _banger_ . LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie and Hágane are the "fourfront" of all-female Metal from Japan.
