In the 270 years of US history, US becomes number 1 for about 80 years. Before become the number 1, US is already the biggest economy of the world and a vibrant entertainment and leading technology centre. After involving in the world war and heavily invested in the military complex, it takes on the role of world police. US started to spend their GDP in military and less on their own infrastructure and education. The US spends 11% of their GDP in military, and China merely 2%. The quality of life is better for the Chinese compared to that of American, although their per capita is only one sixth of American. In the real world, human only respect ''Money'' and ''Power'', no body truly respect US, evidenced by their constant defect in UN. Countries frightened by US military might and Financial sanction, the power Americans sold their soul and their people to acquire. Crime, drug, and debt continue a social downward spiral cannot wake the American, as usual, blame it to someone. It was once the Japanese, now it is the Chinese.

I am not pro CCP but am very much anti US foreign policy and think the US needs to make a serious effort to understand and appreciate Chinese culture. I do not think we can criticize China purely on the basis that they are not a democracy and abuse human rights when the US has FISA courts, ran Guantanamo bay, invaded and bombed iraq and many other countries, sides with oppressive regimes like SA that support its interests, and has a non-functioning democracy with two pro war parties funded by big business that pass policies against the interests of working people. I happened to have just finished reading a book (Noam Chomsky's "How The World Works) that goes much more in-depth on the disastrously inhuman and cruel deeds of US hegemonic interventionism throughout the world since after WWII. The difference between China and the US is that China is a civilised country whereas the US is a barbaric gang of thieves and murderers. I use the term civilised like we use it in the case of an individual in a society. A civilised person in a society is one who abides by the laws and regulations of the society in which they live, who lives peacefully with other people, who respects other people, who behaves civilly with other people, and who cooperates with other people for the benefits of all people. A gang of thieves and murderers, on the other hand, is a group of people who uses violent means to break in the houses of other people for the purpose of stealing their wealth. Invading other countries, bombing other countries, and killing the people of other countries in order to steal their wealth are the actions of gangs of thieves and murderers.

    2. the professor is objective while the politicians have personal agenda and causing conflict w Russia and China, even superficially, can benefit themselves personally.
    3. the military-industrial complex has profound interests in conflict.
    4. when Americans soldiers lose their life in foreign wars, they are most likely to be the kids of lower social class people (watch Mike More documentary)

The Reason why America is Collapsing and China is Rising is due to Globalislzation , When America Made a Deal with .China Thru Nixon, They The "CEOs" thought they Can do Away with Production Cost, and Factories, by Exporting American Manufacturing and Technology Including their "Blueprints" to China
But Here is How America Failed and China Immensely Succeeding.
The Chinese Were Willing to use and Grow their Billion plus Work and Labor 😁 Force, while America was "Cutting" their Work Force because Profit Motivated CEOs wanted to Make more Money Using less Labor.
Since the Wealthy Class, CEOs, Corporate Stock holders, in American Big Industries, such as Military, Aviation, Pharmecutival millionaire and Billionaires have a "Cozy" Relationship with the Politicans "Ruling Elites" Through Political Organization, Financial systems like the Stock Market . And the Corporate Class are Themselves 😂 Part of the "Elite Class"
      This
Created what I call a "Capitalistic Conflict of Interest" Because these Social, Economic , And Political Organization Are Pyramid Horizontally
Intergrated and Complex, this Complexity Shows in Several ways, Corporate Welfare, Higher Taxes for the "Working Class" Voodoo" Economic Manipulation Creating "Artificial Supply and Demand", Foreign Policy Based Entirely on Economic Gains for the Ruling, and Corporate Elites in Finance, Banking, Fiat Money Printing, Military Industries Expenditure, Lobbyist ECT.
Since these Institutions have Controlling FACTOR in Globalislzation .Example Trade deficit Due to Politicans Foreign policy ,Nations GDP are Directly tied to Interest Rates in International Banking , Dollar Reserves, Currency Manipulation, PetroDollar, Treasury and the Stock Market ECT.
So When a Complexe Socio-Poliical, and Economic System like this Begins to Fail, Due to Home grown Problems like Joblessness, Undertrained Workforce Inflation, and Trade Deficits, ECT Some being the Results of the very " Globalized Economy created by America.
Foreign policy Measures like Sanctions Are Put into place by the More Dominant Country in this case the United States to Compensate for
The Failing Institution. And in Extreme case War is Used to Gain a Advantage, Example, Iraq Syria Wars And Military Actions for Oil And During 911 Terrorist Attack, When Most of America Financial, and Telecommunication Infastructure was Destroyed So Everything Connects Bottom up in a Horizontal based Pyramid System
      Now
This is How China is Succeeding Because China has a Vertically Intergrated Social Economic , and Political Structure They can Deliberately Devaluated their Currency because they Don't have to Worry about Employee Lawsuits, Calling your Congressman, Suing the Government, Benifit Package, Retirement ECT
Polical Motivated Labor laws, They don't have a large Wealth Divide because Basically Everyone is in the "Same 😂 Socio-Economic Class"
This Stable Wage and Under Valued Currency Enables China to Make and Manufacture Products Very Cheaply
      Now
This is How China will Surpass the United States. They Know America has a Much more Complex Pyramid Horizontal Capitalistic Social, Political and Economic System,
So if the Economic Base Fail , Their System is Devalued and Will Suffer a Catastrophic Crash, Almost Where we Are Headed Today..
The Economic Base of the American System is the Working Class numbering In the tens of Millions. Without this Working Class You can't Tax, Sustain a Thriving Government , Vote Resulting in a One-sided Political Party Dominating System, And American Politics is Highly Geographical, Example Red States, blue State , Electoral college, And these States Welfare is Directly dependant on Manufacturing, and Production, Which was Sold or Given to China in Trade Agreement.
The Olny Base that The Chinese have is a Intergrated Vertical polical Base , That Olny the Socio-Poliical Elites in China Control Minus the People, Labor Force , Since it's a One Party System their is no Instability or Political uncertainty. Which in turn lead to Economic Uncertainty. and Since China is Geographically Similar , because Most of the Country is on Mountain Region, Most Cities And Population Centered on Flat Viable terrain. Unlike America Where Many people are Individualistic ,Have Differ Political Religious Affiliations, And Want to Live Away from the Big Cities, Again the Horizontally Intergrated Structure I referenced.
So China Can Better Manage and Control their One Party Social and Political System to Manipulate their Economic System,
This is how China will Overtake the United States When Any Economic System fails , It's "VALUE" Will Simply be Transferred to the Connecting Adjacent Global System in this case CHINA Because of "LINKED"Currency, Trade, Finance Example. IMF, International Banking, Shared Debt, Bond Among Nations

They have the most incredible High Speed Rail system in the World. I worked in Russia in a very Senior Capacity, I had an Office in Kiev, I worked with Ukrainian Oligarchs and was shocked by the level of Corruption in Ukraine. I had many Ukrainians working for me in Russia and Ukraine. I can’t see Russia attacking Ukraine, it’s like attacking your family, from a viewpoint of bloodlines Russia & Ukraine have family members on both sides. That’s why Russia doesn’t want to attack Ukraine. It’s like England attacking Wales, I don’t believe that would happen.

The usa looks like don Quichot in the story of ‘Don Quichot de la Mancha’ an old knight dressed in armor trying to fight all kinds of ‘unrighteousness ‘ with his loyal servant. One day he saw a windmill and thought it was an enemy, he charged with his lance against the turning blades of the windmill and got caught on one of the blades, turning along faster and faster as the wind blows harder. He cried and yelled while hanging on the blade, helpless and frustrated until his servant took him down. The usa sees China as an imaginary enemy just like don Quichot sees the windmill as an imaginary enemy while China is just working hard to produce useful things for the people.

  • @Achrononmaster
    @Achrononmaster 2 года назад +5

The NATO military threat is a red (or at best pink) herring. The elephant in the room few talk about is trade. EU/US do not want the China-Russia One Belt One Road plan to be successful, and yet all it will do is make trade less costly for everyone, and USA firms (who are invited to policy seats where they do not belong) can always afford to pay fair prices for imports, and sell exports at lower prices still making profits, they just do not want to. The Crimea is a key place for NATO friendly allies to put road blocks up against fair trade. It is pure oligarch greed that is driving militaristic policy here, not really sovereignty issues.
International trade is a major reason wars do not happen. When powerful nations distort fair trade then the war hawks have their excuse to beat the drums. Here it's slightly perverse: China is expanding trade, lowering global economic costs, and the USA does not like it, they (US exporters) want unfair trade and high prices. The lessen to avoid war is do not let exporters anywhere near your policy table. Their interest is their customer, the foreigner, not your own people.

U.N. voted 130-against 2 (US and Ukraine) to outlaw Nazism.
On 16 December, 2021, the United Nations tabled a resolution that called for “combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism.” The only nations to vote against it were the United States and Ukraine.
Every Russian knows that it was across the plains of Ukraine’s “borderland” that Hitler’s divisions swept from the west in 1941, bolstered by Ukraine’s Nazi cultists and collaborators. The result was more than 20 million Russian dead. This is the driving force behind Russia’s respect-seeking, self-protective security proposals, which were published in Moscow in the week the U.N. voted 130-2 to outlaw Nazism. They are:
    - NATO guarantees that it will not deploy missiles in nations bordering Russia. (They are already in place from Slovenia to Romania, with Poland to follow.)
    - NATO to stop military and naval exercises in nations and seas bordering Russia.
    - Ukraine will not become a member of NATO.
    - The West and Russia to sign a binding East-West security pact.
    - The landmark treaty between the US and Russia covering intermediate-range nuclear weapons to be restored. (The U.S. abandoned it in 2019.)
These amount to a comprehensive draft of a peace plan for all of postwar Europe and ought to be welcomed in the West. But who understands their significance? We are told that Putin is a pariah, “killer” and a threat to Christendom. Russian-speaking Ukrainians, under economic blockade by Kyiv for seven years, are fighting for their survival. The “massing” army we seldom hear about is the 13 Ukrainian brigades laying siege to Donbas: an estimated 150,000 troops.

With all respect to Prof. Jefferey Sachs, I don't quite agree with some of your points of view's:
    1. You kept saying 🇺🇸 is "still" a rich country comparing to 🇨🇳, am I correct?🤔?..How about Future's POTENTIAL?🤔?..Let me ask you this question if you are looking for a partner for business development and/or looking for spouse to grow old with, would you rather pick the one with POTENTIAL TO GROW RICH WITH, STABLE AND TRUSTWORTHINESS..Or, would you like to hook 🆙 with someone like Ivanka Trumpets or someone who is professional @ "barely covered" model's with not much foreseeable good at anything except looking like manikins for different fashionable clothing designed in shopping mall's?🤔?..
    2. Agreed with you on BRI projects of 🇨🇳, it is the same concept as in 🇺🇸 offering various types of loans for business acquisition/start-up, mortgages, students loans, car loans and etc..So, Y on Earth that 🇺🇸 & its allies insisted that 🇨🇳 is setting debts trapped when their intentions are ways better than others?🤔?..If 🇺🇸 is "smart" as it claimed to be, it should invest the wasted 💸💸 in military industry into BUILD FUTURE BETTER along times ago; then by now, don't U think 🇺🇸 is ways off the graphs of the wealthiest & healthiest nation's on Earth?🤔?
    3. As we all know the common saying: Cannot teach the old dog new tricks, perhaps 🇺🇸.gov should reflecting on this phrase's and see whether or not should new tricks be adopted and learned to improve 🇺🇸 since the existed ones are no longer effective and are not that better for the future of your own country next-gen..
    3. Let talks about RESPONSIBILITY and BEING RESPECTFUL, at your age's in present moment, wouldn't you agree that in any business associations, these 2 "R" letter's words are Crucially Important 4 maintaining good long terms relationships including in romantic relationship's..Having stated this, would you please tell me at what % on scales from 1-100, where 🇺🇸 is located??..Midways at 50% or below the "cracked 🔕"?🤔?..Love to hear more of your thoughts and points of view's on how 🇺🇸 can reconcile and would like to reconnect with 🇨🇳 for long term's peaceful relationships that wouldn't devastated 🇺🇸 furthermore than it is already happening..Thank you Prof. Sachs..🤝🕊💐..

Great analysis from Professor Sachs as usual but there one particular point, at 37:50, in which he claims that China was being mischievous by dividing Europe, which i wholly disagree with. What was China supposed to do if the west side of europe did not want to take part in the BRI? Don´t do business at all with the east side? Its entirely the fault of the European Union and not the Chinese at all.

Postscript: Professor Jeffrey Sachs asserts that it was possible to transition from 0.0 to 5.5. If we only talk about the military dimension and the potential for conflict, perhaps this is possible. But then we disregard the economic dimension. Because we must not forget what gives importance to the military dimension which is, ultimately, a way to reap more wealth for oneself. And since we live in a global capitalism the states not only behave more or less like large corporations, they are closely linked to them. Of course the United States knows that with the new competitors, as it happened with the development of Japan and South Korea for example, they will lose or will not succeed in obtaining in wealth what they had planned there a few decades promoting a certain type of global capitalism. The question that remains is the following: to what extent is the United States ready to use its military power to try to secure a greater share of the world's wealth in the future. (Portugal, Porto)
